I haven't raked hay in 35 years but it was in MO. with a IH 464 and a New Holland 256 or 258 rake IIRC. We just use 2 IH 464's and 2 IH 1300 sickle bar mowers. Let it dry 1-3 days then rake it, let it dry 1/2-1 days and then bale it. Is the hay tedder just to help air out and dry the hay? Was...

Good job on the video. I'd just love to have telescoping lower arms! I think If I had those I wouldn't bother changing anything. Looking for some rear ballast ideas

Maybe some one will post a picture of some mounted on a CUT. My LS rear wheels just have 3 holes around the wheel disk and just didn't seem like enough for mounting weights but maybe they are or they mount differently than what I've seen on bigger tractors.

Looking for some rear ballast ideas

Most of the CUT and SCUT don't offer rear wheel weights and the wheels I don't believe have provisions for them like the old row crop tractors have. Plus we use them on our yards/lawn and don't always want the extra weight when not needed. dropping off a rear 3pt ballast is quick and easy.

    Art of the dump trailer

I overloaded my Big Tex 10LX with gravel once. It didn't look like that much until we crossed the scales. I figured we'd have to open the gates and shovel some out but it lifted it right up with the tailgate open about 4 inches so I could meter it on the driveway.

    Newb questions re: MT345E

That allows time for the oil to circulate through everything. In colder weather, give it more warm up time. For shutdown that is especially important if it has a turbo, it needs time to wind down and cool off so it doesn't cook the oil in it. If it's just for 5 minutes, let it idle. If longer...

Why do we like trails so much?

Trails means something different for me. I like Jeep trails! Sometimes it's the challenge to make it up a steep hill, sometimes it's successfully straddling a narrow trail through the woods with steep banks, sometimes it's climbing up a rock ledge, often it's just being out of the city or...

    REAL Cowboys

Branding was to help prevent cattle theft more than anything. If a Sale barn or butcher saw a brand, they were supposed to verify who brought the animal in and if not the person the brand is registered to, they better have a bill of sale from the brand owner and even then, they might call the...

    Texas Fall/Winter thread!

So far so good but the Texas way is weakening. Too many from the coasts are moving here and raising housing costs rapidly. He still works around the house now that he's finally "retired" for the most part. He retired from the USPS decades ago and retired from ranching/farming several after that...

Best firearm for home protection? I realize a lot is personal choice involved?

Just some ideas. Part of the aim small, miss small idea and not the eyes of the perp which could distract or freeze you. Also look at a skull, not much bone there so it will almost certainly hit the brain or the the brain stem causing instant death or at least paralysis.

What did you do on or to your LS Tractor today?

Installed the WR Long 3rd function kit, mostly. Holes were too small, had to drill them out. Had to install longer bolts to hold the valve assy to the loader frame. Found a nice plug coming out of the Fuse block that wasn't used (Power Shuttle and EHL. both 10Amp) so I just ran the power wire to...
