Weight in bucket W/O using counter weight

I can lift an awful amount of weight with my old John Deere 2020 bucket. Problem is, once I've lifted it off the ground that take all the weight off the rear tires and I have problems going anywhere...especially backing up (no 4wd). And heaven help you if you go down a hill with a lot of...

    Who rides motorcycles?

Those old Honda XLs were wonderful bikes! Awesome low end torque, extremely dependable, and got 70+ mpg. Mine was the previous version, only a 500cc, but I put thousands of trouble-free miles on it in some really remote places. This pic was taken in 1986 at an elevation of about 13,000 feet...

Thoughts on Chevy Colorado or Ford Ranger

My 2016 F150 Supercab, 4x4, with the 3.5 Ecoboost will easily exceed 22 mpg if I don't drive too aggressively. Note that it could have gone over 800 miles on that tank (36 gallon). Being honest, though...over 71,000 miles on the truck now and the overall fuel mileage since new, hand...

I don't pretend to know how every brand handles it...but the New Holland I was looking at was DOC and it most definitely was connected to the ECM. If you weren't running the tractor hard enough to keep the catalyst hot it would set off an alarm to tell you to raise your rpm.

Why I'm still holding on to my ancient Homelite Professional model saw. Came with a thumb-operated manual oiler in addition to the automatic one. When I'm cutting long-dead or fire-killed juniper that manual oiler gets a workout. But it sure cuts down on bar temperatures.

Why some people are too stupid to own a car

Yes, I laughed to myself when I saw his post about not driving over 20 mph. Most days I'll put on at least 200 miles, all on dirt roads. 20 mph just isn't feasible if I want to do anything else but drive. But having grown up in a similar area, I can understand where he's coming from. He...

Not my tractor so I really don't know anything about it. I just know he's been using it for 20 years or so. He has tried several dealers, searching on the internet, and shops that specialize in rebuilding hydraulic valves. All have told him that he's got a real oddball there.
