    They are slowly coming out here, but so far it's been too cool for them to bother much. I have a worse reaction to their bites than to bee stings; they last 4-5 weeks whereas most stings abate in an hour or so. When they are really bad I wear a headnet.

    I am going to play devil's advocate here and suggest that you find out what really is going on; even if it means splitting the tractor. You've had the tractor for 2 years and seem to plan on keeping it; so whatever problem you have is only going to get worse.

    So does the bark mulch... but I wouldn't mention that if I were you. ;) Besides, it apparently only ties it up for a thin layer on top of the soil; amd doesn't have much of an effect where the roots are. The bigger concern is that softwood mulch in particular can affect your spil PH.

    I had never experienced static sparks from fueling, until last month. I had (2) 55 gallon drums of #2 heating oil setting on the bed mat in back of my truck, pumping them into an oil tank. Every time that I touched the steel pickup line I got zapped.
