They are slowly coming out here, but so far it's been too cool for them to bother much. I have a worse reaction to their bites than to bee stings; they last 4-5 weeks whereas most stings abate in an hour or so. When they are really bad I wear a headnet.

The only animal I will automatically kill besides woodchucks is a porcupine. While neither of my dogs got into them in a bad way, that's a chance I don't want to take. In either case it's only if they are on my property.

I am going to play devil's advocate here and suggest that you find out what really is going on; even if it means splitting the tractor. You've had the tractor for 2 years and seem to plan on keeping it; so whatever problem you have is only going to get worse.

I have a chainsaw debarker to clean up logs for my sawmill. When sawing hemlock, it makes nice orange bark mulch. All that you need is a coating on top of your chips, if you want color. I'm thinking about a chipper because as previously mentioned we can only burn at certain times of the year...

When I was moonlighting at a gas station one of the customers had a ton dump truck with no filler pipe. He would raise the bed so that you could fill it. I never cared for that arrangement.

I had never experienced static sparks from fueling, until last month. I had (2) 55 gallon drums of #2 heating oil setting on the bed mat in back of my truck, pumping them into an oil tank. Every time that I touched the steel pickup line I got zapped.

I'm with you. Anything on my property over 12" or so is something I loaded on the truck by hand, and I enjoy doing that less and less. There were a few pieces last year which I picked up with the grapple to set on the splitter. How I got those in the truck to bring them home is a mystery to me.
