You are correct and I am wrong... Yes the pin (#15) actually goes into a sleeve (what I refereed to as a nub) to lock joystick, I had to move joystick around to finally get alignment and the pin to go all the way into sleeve to lock joystick.... It's something I have never used in all the years...

It actually does not go into any hole, the pin #15 just pushed against a nub on joystick pivot and put's it onto a position where it can't move....

IF lever in image below is what you are referring to as lock out lever ... There is no NUT #11 involved.... The lever #15 (lock out pin?) is held in place just by PIN #16.... The pin #15 just pushes on a "nub" on joystick lever #1 (base) .... And just FYI the spring #17 is on wrong...

Cut broken knuckle off flush with heavy end of cylinder, drill and tap for new "tie rod end" , seems there is enough material there that there is no need for welding....

Rule of thumb is replace cheapest parts first..... Get smaller cutter.....

I Think red/white wire (direct from ign switch) serves all three fuse positions (two without wires)... Look to see if there is a common buss between positions.... Don't put a lot of faith in wiring diagram either, my manual has errors on how fuse position serve components and wire colors...

Sounds like a good plan since replacement cylinder no longer seems to be available new...Option may be tractor salvage yard though for replacement.... Might try GOOGLE search for tractor salvage yards in Texas...

Yeah I did thAt, got JD mower stuck on flat marshy ground, got tractor to remove JD and sunk tractor on marshy ground, then got jeep with 90 feet of winch cable out (avoiding marshy ground) to pull both out.... Was not a good day....
