    The underside of my beautiful mower is surprisingly clean, most of my ground here is sand so its like it gets sandblasted all the time. I have to replace blades on my riding mower about every other year!

    So why did you go to letting someone else sharpen them for you? I have a stack of dull blades, "they" say I can get 5 sharpening's each , if that's the case with as few as I go through in a year I could get a sharpener for $800 ish and never buy another blade.

    I mill mine, sticker it, then use cheap ratchet straps from Harbor Freight to bind the pile. As it shrinks I can crank a little more on the ratchet to keep it tight.
