Whose tail wheel assembly are you referring to? If it's mine, it absolutely can't be bent by hand. The frame is about 3/8 thick, post 1 1/4". Body man said heat and frame machine is what he is using.

Mini splits can either be individual wall units, or they can tie into duct work. We had both in our last home. Both worked great, although the ductwork tied one is less energy efficient.

I burn on thin metal too. Kinda off topic, but I learned using Blue Devil wire, they make a 1 pass and multiple pass wire. My multiple pass welds look better using it.
