Need to replace altenator on 1986 1210

That's great! I need to make sure my connections are right. Neighbor has a kubota he thinks will fit it. Yesterday I hooked it up to a solar panel and it is charging now! We'll see how that goes til I can find a replacement.

Need to replace altenator on 1986 1210

Your concern is touching, but you have no earthly way to know anything about what a nearly 40 year old "hobby" tractor was used for, how it was paid for…or that the local Napa wants over 239.00 for something that just requires a battery to get running. The inital question was recommendations...

Need to replace altenator on 1986 1210

Thank you for that information. I do have someone local who can rebuild it, but I'd have to take into another town. Meanwhile I was advised to get a solar trickle battery charger and just keep the battery up that way. I think it attaches to the hood. Sounds like a pretty brilliant plan for...

Need to replace altenator on 1986 1210

Is there a good online resource and a good brand name to look for? This is a 1986 model 1210 NH. Thank you for any advice…price was crazy I thought at Napa.

Is Traveler Universal Premium Hydraulic fluid compatible with 134D fluid?

I found the SC 134D on the label after looking closer. I do have expensive stuff hate to waste as it drips on the ground. I don't know what a wet clutch/brake system is, but I don't think I have one. My problem looks like it may be coming from oil cooler. Not sure why but running all the...

Is Traveler Universal Premium Hydraulic fluid compatible with 134D fluid?

Good to hear...do you know if the Japanese ones might be any different tho? I didn't see my model listed...but it wasn't an extensive list. You wouldn't have a 1210 by any chance?

Is Traveler Universal Premium Hydraulic fluid compatible with 134D fluid?

I have a Ford/New Holland 1210, the Jap Trac they call it at the local tractor place. I was told it needed a hydraulic oil compatible with 134D. I'm having trouble finding that exact answer. But do see on the Label some Ford/NH can use it. Does anyone know for sure?

1210 rattle in tranny diagnosed as shield coming loose

After eliminating the possibility of other problems, a traveling Ford New Holland mechanic friend of a friend stopped by and pretty sure the sound is a lightweight shield used to deflect oil in the tranny coming loose. I am having problems getting it to a dealer two counties over, and wondered...

Repeating hydro oil change numerous times...

Can I reuse brand new filter if I'm just repeating changes in order to eliminate all water in system? The filters are pretty pricey, and I intend to use a new one on the last change. I have thrown away the first filter before the changes. Thanks for any cleaning tips or other advice. I know in a...

Sounds like transmission clatter after blowing bucket hose

I've been through a world of it since I blew a hose on my bucket. Immediately after replacing the hose, I had a clatter that took me a long time to rule out/replace a rubber boot that separates parts on the drive shaft. Trying to eliminate the obvious alternatives to major problems with gears...

Can't find replacement Hydrolic suction filter for Ford 121O

I have looked locally and even called the Ford Parts house and was told they didn't stock this part and didn't have it in their book even. Unless they could find it at another Ford New Holland dealer, i was out of luck! Can this really be true? The local O'Reilly's said anything like this other...

1210 Axle lube way low, water in it...

Drained out the old remaining lube, water was clear, no metal shavings, hope to have dodged a bullet. Was told to run diesel thru it before re-adding 80-90 GL 5 gear oil. Not sure about wait time between these two things. Also was told to check oil in hubs, but have yet to find a dipstick or...

1210 hydraulic fluid has water in it...

The recommendations from Ford New Holland mechanic was I could use the old filter if i soaked it in diesel over nite before the first change. Then I could follow up with the second change with the new filter. Was wondering if anybody else had done that, or if I should just suck up the expense...

Would lack of axle lube cause clattering with hydrostatic on 1210 Ford?

Trying to eliminate the easiest possible causes. Tractor clatters when Hydrostatic pedal engaged in High or Low, frontward or backward....no abnormal noise other wise.

1989 Ford 1210 clattering when hydrostat engaged....

After using an auger in position, no problems there, I moved a few feet to discover a flat back tire...at least it felt like that, felt like it was off balance. Anyway, aired up the tire and noticed the tape had come off the hydraulic hose to the bucket, because it had blown while I wasn't...

1210 back tire separated from rim

I managed to get the tractor balanced on a concrete block so i could get it off the ground and pull the tire back to the rim. Do I need anything bigger than a 3 Gal air compressor...do I need ratchet straps? Can I do it without taking tire off the tractor? Was hoping to air it up enough to see...

    Tire Sealant...pink stuff...TireSeal?

Seems to be hard to find the pink stuff, (TireSeal) that is supposedly harmless to rims unlike others. Does anyone have info on where this can be found. I've googled and can't find it, although it has been raved on here and elsewhere. Is Slime really harmful to rims? That's what I've come to...
