    Mahindra 4530 help

When the dealer installed a backhoe on a Mahindra 3510, the hydraulic system was big enough to run the bh. When they plumbed it in, the 3pt line fed the bh so my remote (plumbed to the FEL) didn’t work with the BH.

Anyone seen this attachment? What is it?

It’s what’s left of a Rotary Hoe. Use was to weed just planted corn, beans, etc without damaging crop or to stir crusted over ground allowing seedlings to sprout. Barely touched the ground enough for tips to flick the shallow weeds out leaving the deeper rooted crop. Faster the better.

Land Pride RCD1884 doesn't cut smoothly, any tips?

Something is causing the mower not to spin smoothly, my guess is a blade is hung up and not freewheeling on the stump jumper. Worst case could be PTO shaft in a bind and bent or the blade shaft. What machine, or equipment, can mow an uneven grassy pasture the fastest? Zero Turn?

Perhaps the field could be plowed and drag smooth. Plant in hay or natural grass. Do it sections at a time until it is pasture smooth. I mow and spray only the acres getting planted, pathways between fields and around the cabin. Rest is growing wildlife cover.

    Small farm hay project?!

2 acres isn't big enough to justify the cost or the effort to bale. Plant it in a big garden, pasture or food plot. Plant different things till you find what works for you. Buy hay as needed. I used to cut and bale 25 ac to feed cows. Spent way more on equipment than hay cost to buy.

    Side jobs with your tractor

My new neighbor asked me to disk his newly mowed grown up acre to plant a new food plot. We agreed on $50/ac. He was upset when it took 10 times over the acre to even see dirt My charge was $500. I did tell him one trip with planter @ $75/ac. He went and bought his own equipment .

When did Mahindra change their model numbers?

Any of the 8000 or the 100 Series are unicorns since Mahindra has stepped out of the 75hp+ tractors. I was killing some time kicking tires on one of the new cabbed 60hp, owner advised not to ever trade the 8560. He said the 85 & 105 were the best tractors Mahindra ever made.

Really, really dumb question about difference between off road and on road diesel fuel.

Red dyed diesel hasn't had road tax applied to the cost. There is no difference in fuel quality between taxed and untaxed fuel. When I could get enough fuel to work all weekend in a couple of 5 gal cans, I bought diesel where ever I could get it. Once I got a second tractor, I hauled fuel in a...

Why so much tongue weight on 22' car hauler trailers?

Your biggest issue is too small a truck for a loaded 22’ trailer. The new 1/2 ton trucks are weak and poor load haulers, they are known as grocery getters for a reason. I built trailers for several years in my younger days and the front spring hangar should be in the middle of the bed less the...

    Backhoe vs Tractor with backhoe

I have a frame mount Bradco for a CUT, had it for about 10 years. I use it often by doing all the digging chores when it is mounted up. I also have a bigger tractor so that makes a difference. Those 3 pt backhoes are hard on the tractor and will break something if not very cautious.

Don’t over grease. Most greasable fittings are pumped full till they overflow. Once movement starts (FEL, Ball joints, etc) will push out the excess grease. Those fittings get about 5 pumps max. I bought a new backhoe for my CUT with a frame mount several years ago. It works for my needs, as I usually do all the digging when I put it on. Compared to a TLB, it is slower, has to move more due to shorter reach and does require a little effort to take on & off. I have installed 2 septic...
