What did you buy this week?

I bought new blades for the X500 last summer, new electro-clutch, and a new deck belt. Recently noticed a lot of noise from the deck, so removed it. All the blades and spindles are fine, but the 2 pulley tensioner and both idlers are shot. Managed to misplace the parts manual, when I find...

It will take a Lot to convince me that the new RAM I6 Aluminum sleeveless "plasma transfer wire arc (PTWA)" coating on the cylinder bores is better longevity wise than the Iron AMC 6, that Chrysler used for decades in the Jeeps. I just had the granddaughters Wrangler 4.0 apart due to a bad...

    Chinese tractor on the web

I bought a spare Rhino / Shanghai 554 recently and am fixing it up currently. I will say they are built heavier than probably any new 55 HP tractor except maybe a Mahindra 30 series. The engines are also quiet running and fuel efficient. After reading horror stories about a couple...

    Heavy Duty Compact Tractor

I would put my old Rhino 554 up against that Fiat as far as the size of castings and things like hubs and rear axle size and weight, the 554 bare weight is 5200lb+ before ROPS, wheel weights, or FEL, with those basics around 7500lb. The Op sounds like he actually needs an articulated...

Who still drives a stick in 2025?

Honda's early automatics sucked compared to the 5 speeds. I had several 5 speed Honda Accord LX's and Civics, but just 2 autos. The 1980 Accord LX auto would run down the hiway at well over 3000 RPM if you tried to cruise at 70. Could pull several more MPG out of the manually shifted Honda's...

Who still drives a stick in 2025?

Yep seems the lock up torque Converters and an overdrive gear really helped the MPG, which is what was starting to put pressure on the big 3.

Maybe if you were (possibly) dealing with some health issues you might understand how that can happen at times in a persons life, especially while also dealing with building at a new location. Getting old is tough on the body.

Increasing the lift capacity of a FEL

Yep, I had to stop over loading my tractor and just switch to my backhoes FEL unloading a 3400lb pallet of quikcrete, was able to get it moved to the back of the trucks bed with the tractor but only had a post hole digger on the 3 point. Had to put it in 4 wheel to move the pallet back...

    Car Hauler vs Utility Trailer

Sounds similar to my old Wilson 10K load tilt deck dove tail. I do have to climb out car windows at times. It works great for the tractor but even at 20 feet can be a bit short with a brush cutter on the tractor.

EV owners of today and tomorrow

Why? Because GM and LG did not get all the bugs out of the robotic assembly line, and two different assembly errors combined resulting in a bent tab that could contact another different voltage potential part of the battery causing a short which could and has caused a few fires. The...

    New TYM 2515R review

OP should/might want to, set up his phone to video it once the tractor is home from the side of the hill this is happening on- again mark the tire to wheel alignment with a grease or chalk pen. ptsg you maybe right and the tires may just be spinning.

Increasing the lift capacity of a FEL

With those ratings, I would think the relief Is set below spec. The above suggests that a 1500lb weight should be an Easy lift with the Full height @ 500mm listed. Trying not to not to knock on Kubota, but it IS a 67 HP tractor, should have no problem with what you are lifting (under a...

Increasing the lift capacity of a FEL

Have you tested the system pressure? Several posts over the years on TBN of Kubota going to the low side of their own specification. If a system is bypassing at say 1800PSI and is speced for 2300PSI that amounts to quite a bit more lift capability, with nothing more than a gauge quick...

New Toyota Tundra’s Recalled for Spun Crank Bearing

It's funny, I actually had more rust issues with the Jeeps especially around the edges of the floor steel. Those were Kaiser built Jeeps though.

They were built heavier than many other brands. An FJ 40 outweighed a same year Jeepster by about a thousand pounds. Have owned both.

5085M stuck in park, but was forced to drive it anyway

Well if it does ever get stuck again on an incline , I would consider just a light push or pull with the front FEL bucket edge to take the load off of the parking pawl before putting any real force on the lever. Obviously with the trailer attached IIRC on a hill there was no way to really do...
