Ok - i am still screwed trying to get my tractor to start. dealer is 50 miles away and has been useless after many attempts to get help.
so - and please no lectures and be patient - i do not now that much - i have no serious metric tools and i am trying to attempt to get this woking myself...
first i only get the 1 click and not click click click click.
2nd - i put a new battery in this AM> same thing hapens. truns over and immediately 1 click and nothing.
i am crippled and had many serious operations last 3 years so tough to bend and kneeling is painful and had total knee...
yes it was charged and the same thing. also the connections are greased so all contacts are good.
if the battery was not that good it wouldn;t have even turned it over like it did momentarily.
like i said symptoms are ust like when the solenoid needed to be replaced.
ahhh OK thank you -
re: the battery - it is brand new thisend of summer.
i am not stupid - ust do not have all of the metric stuff and as you said there is so much in the way to access anything it seems like.
it does crank over as such and then stops with the click - same as before.
just...
thank you for the reply. that is way beyond my means and ability sorry to say.
another question: the dielectric grease - do you actually put some into the connection points area or just use it after the connections are done? as in coat the outside of the connection...
ok i have maybe 175 hrs on a 10 yr old max 25. i take care of it. 5 yrs ago i had to put a new solenoid on it. today tried to start and turns over and clicks and stops just like before. think it is the solenoid again? why would it break after such little use - and this is not a beater...
my weird story - first day i got the tractor and filled it the 5 gal diesel can and the new damn filler lock releases slipped from the edge of the tank and pushed mine in the tank. tried to get it out and gave up. it has been 10 yrs and the only issue is it appears to affect the actual fuel...
wow!!! THank you again so very much. this will help me a lot. just a stupid question for my next step: the belt covers on top of the deck. are the bolts welded or part of the deck or do they fall through the bottom? - are they all the way through? do you have to be able to access both top...
Ok i sent a few days lubing and pb balstering and breakfreeing the actual pto shaft and the push/pull ring at the end that attaches the shaft to the tractor pto. they WERE frozen! so now i have to try to get the top housing off and see what is underneath and lube all that up and see of i can...
does anyone have a manual for this in pdf format or even jpg? i have some exploded parts view but the whole pto unit is missing in the diagram - it has the main unit parts listed and not the shaft info included. - my unit is and has been frozen for a few years now due to many surgeries. and it...
I am just curious. Is this endemic to the emax series? i did have to replace my solenoid a few years back and that DID take care of the issues at the time. I have a Max 25. thank you.
Just an update and semi review ----after almost 2 months got the tractor back and it seems to work nicely. they gouged the hell out of the piston/cylinder covers on the bucket. not sure what they did and how they did that - but had to be metal against metal so i am pissed. My mid mower froze...
i was asking not telling you - so i iind of thought the same thing....
i did not hear anything before this guys comments today.
thank you.
edit - not trying to spread anything or open a can of worms. i was surprised is all.
well i finally got my tractor back this afternoon after 2 months - mostly waiting for glowplugs and gowpluge timer or some such thing. the driver told me that mahindra was boughten from the Indian manufacturer by some US company. anyone hear of this or have any details. He also said the US...
ust cauht this thread. short story from a longer adventure - tractor was in shop for a leak and servicing. then they had troube starting - messed with it for over a month and then had too order glow plugs and now this AM found out they too had to replace the glow plug timer on a max 25. WTF...
for what it is worth - looking back - since my mid mower is down - on my max 25 when i had to adjust the bucket while i was mowing in tight areas i never noticed any issues.
doneill127 - whoa!!!! THank you so much! I am most, most appreciative. a lot to read and look through.
i have seen some manuals online at a cost but not sure how good they were etc. for the price.
also since the stupid dealer has my machine and they were sourcing glowplugs - would seem...
ah - i forget to check it sorry - yes it is the max 25. mitsubishi. i was going to ask where you got the manual at? and how much?
i have been away from this site since i had 5 major surgeries last 3 years and 3 major ones within 11 months this past year. emergency open heart surgery and...
the kubota dealer was even wrose when i looked at buying one. could care of they sold them or not and also the price kept going up and up and up -all within 1 week.
deere - was not going there with all of their fix it issues and lawsuits.
oh - thanks!!!
years ago i had an issue and tried my damndest to get the dealer to help fix or get the part i needed, and basically that was a 7 week joke. Too complicated to explain the whole scenario. so i ended up gettin a part from Bill.s in TX, cheaper and shipped for half price in 2 days shipping. 3...
ok thank you all - i am sorry for the delay but with serious health issues and also serious storms ehere and trees down and etc. cleanup has been a mess. plus rains too.
I will reread and check all of this stuff out again and try to figure out if doable by me. i thought it should not be that...
i have one with less than 5 hrs on it. last 2 years been sick and could not use it and the darn thing froze as such and have not the time or tools to try to get the stupid thing freed up. was hoping to get to it last year but.... anyone interested pm me - in middle TN
yes i did find it - just did not look low enough and also back enough - that just blends right in with all of the other engine stuff.
i may have a bit of mahindra red spray can paint i can give the are a shot. had to find the hole with my finger to get the dipstick re-inserted - boy they do...
thanks for being a wisea$$'$ - i do not run it mmuch lately due to serious heart and leg ops and it has been a while. otherwise i would be doing it more to remember. all the various equipments and also 70's what the hell do you expect. a 20 yr sevant genuius. come on easy and chill - wtf...
looked at the manual and then on the engine 4x with flashlight and everything - i cannot find it. i knw in the past it was hard to see and also hard to get that dipstick back into that hole wherever it is.
2nd - had a weird duhdudhduhduh noise all of a sudeen - seemed like the belt - after x...
actually the top of the fuel cn spiggot was included. i put it on and off due to under trees and keeping stuff out of tt and just mental fatigue i tried to fill without removing the top - the weight of the can made my grip slip and that also knocked the tank filter screen into it too. so i had...
when i first got my tractor - damn heavy 5 gal diesel jug slipped and knocked the filter screnn into the tank - bugged the hell out of me. tried fishing it out and kept hitting the wire fuel gauge thingie in there. a friend of mine picked up some auto finger grabbers - still nothing. and the...
bills in texas might help.
Bill's Tractor & Equipment - New & Used Tractor, Mower, and UTV Sales, Service, and Parts in San Antonio, TX, near New Braunfels & Seguin this may be it but i am in the middle of a sick dog.
i did notice a lot of JD commercials - but not mahindra like a few years ago and even no kioti. seems like corporate ay have a number of issues combined. not interested in selling them.
strange.
i love the max25 but as i said the delaers and service nd company itself was a disappointment. kubota for trying to buy one was a joke.
a i side not had some clown hit me from behind and totaled my car which was in impeccable shaoe and low mileage and no issues but got crapola for thie ins...
sorry i did not see this earlier i have a max 25 and had same issues. dealer was a no go and could not get the part for 6 weeks - got it from bills in TX in 2 days and was pretty straightforward but the nut is huge and metric though a standard broke it free my friend had.
well i was interested in kubota; however, the owner was jerk and knew notta and could care less about the sale and the only salesman they had just keptincreasing the price over a 3 day period so i said forget it. and deere did not impress me for my needs. so...
i could not build one myself i...
sorry ben a mahindra owner for many years now - max 25 fel and midmower.
the dealer i called 50 miles away when i was curious to find out more was rude and told me to go to their website which didn;t have anything on it. OK... so i found someone else about 40 miles away but seemed like a...
hell just paid mucho bucks for a john deere when my last other brand tractor pooped out. not much choice so had to go bigger time. npow i see just today alone 2 tractor fires. kind of leaves me hoilding my private parts and very concerned.
just an update - with heat at 110 or so and then harvest and also other work here and trying to get ready for grape harvest and winemaking - even with the offer for help from a friend in gthe next state - i just have not had a chance to do anything with this frozen mower. i promise to get back...
thanks will reread this thread and the other before i get time to check into it more. unfortunately getting prepped somehow to start hravest and winemaking - a solos act so difficult with all that is going on! Thanks again.
starting to wish i never spent the $ on that! a big mistake for me.
ok got it off rather easily this AM after 2 days of nightmare sitiations. still seems frozen but had other stuff to do - oiled the top of the belt wheels - after days of stors and rain i will try to lift it with the bucket and have a look see underneath and try to get the blades to move. then...
thanks trying to get a firned to find time to help me pull the mower forward if i can pull the pto slipring back to disengage the mower from the tractor. i have no clue about the splines. and any leftover tension - that is why i asked a dumb question. thank you!
thanks - my slip ring does not seem to go back as far as your or not easily even after grease and 1/2 a can of dw 40 - this even has pissed me off so badly plus my garden tractor piece of garbage. husqvara - a real mistake buying that one.
:-))))
looks like maybe 2 people will have to take...
what a day yesterday - my garden tractor belt drive for the blades stopped and broke somehow - not sure what that is about so i tried to hookup my midmower deck onto the tractor - which i have used maybe 5 times total - that is my backup. also it is too large to get itno most of the crowded...
what kind of adjustment?
wheels should not be dragging on the ground as such - but shoul be there as a gauge for bumps and uneven ground. other adjdustments are on the back of the tractor that raises and lowers the deck as such.
a few years ago i needed a solenoid part - dealer screwed up the order first time. weeks later they said they were trying to getthe part. 5 weeks later still notta and the guy pretty much copped an attitude with me and really tivcked me off - he is 60 miles away and was already a hassle...
there are microdosing of pred so the wise man on this thread knows. yes it is nothing to just give without knowing what is going on that is why i said go to the vet and do not self medicate unless you know. over the years i have learned a lot and yes new drugs come out so ask the vet.
i am...
need to see a Vet. various things. rimadyl as mentioned later in this thread. but taken with food. yes i have meloxiam for my arthritis. and yes that has been prescribed by some vets. dose - need to deal with the vet so no negative issues. also prednisone too but they pee all the time and...
ther are burs or raised edges on a worn bar that need to be filed - flat sides of bars is what i do.. they have a tool i have seen for truing up a bar - never bought one though.
i had mine go and i waited for over 4-5 weeks for a part from dealer 60 miles away and he was jerking me around so someone here said to got to bill's
https://billstractor.net/
talked to a guy there and he sent out the part that dy and it was cheaper thn the dealer who could not get the part...
ya my shop is so much worse than what i do. saved so much money and they just grind all chains generically so not really what was intended as such. i do 2 stroked per cutter and it last 3 hrs of intense cutting. theirs - maybe 1/2 hr or 45' max. and what you do re: correct angle has nothing...
i'll join the club. 3 yr and 2 month old shindaiwa 591 20" - blew up. go figure. no reason why it should have done that ....
lucky i bought a backup 591 20" and now awaiting an echo timberwolf 590 20" bar. same bar and chains and sharpeners etc.
i love them one way but then..... they are a heavy beast for sure. a pain. i probably should have never paid that money and bought a cheapo garden tractor for a backup.
oh well i have it now.
thanks for the question did not even know about that gear box and oil.
i have a MAHMX-60
under gear box section says 6 oz of oil no more no less.
reg temp mobilube 80w-90
above 200 degrees F mobilube synthetic SHC 75w-90

i will look in my office tomorrow. just going to sleep - 4 am comes too quick. there are a few grease fittings for sure. i never messed with any oil that is why i asked. will get back to youtomorrow.
i have one but have to find it tomorrow. what do you mean oil type? i only used mine 3x - due to all the bucket work i do.
cuts nice. but i have many areas that it is too big to use. but nice to have some kind of extra unit.
sorry he know his stuff but i saw stuff that looked like mufflers on my other older tractors but look at that pcture and you tell me. he just had a quick look see - he waas in good clothes.. and he stopped by to lend me a tool i did not have. sure doesn't look like a muffler to me from what i...
not sure if this is the right place but does anyone know where the muffler is on the garden tractors and how easy it is to replace it? also where to get one at a decent price? local dealer and other repair shop are bad news.
nice. i plant around 275-300 a year and this is my 26th year from my original garlic - 2 pieces of pizza and a whole bulb OF GARLIC AND I LOVE IT. Use it for most food...congrats. you pick in august being up north.
i understand. i have had to make that call 2-3x in my 70 yrs. better to buy a new and start again. i was just explaining what i am going through now. sounded similar to your experience.
i have another brand saw but 2 weeks ago started and full run stalled. many times. tried everything. took it in and the guy said coil was gone. he is waiting for the part. that is all he said. the new kid is very unfriendly unlike the old owner who retired2 yrs ago. guy seems to not have...
could not find the right place but figured I'd try here.
I unfortunately have a husqvarna garden tractor - innotek twin 24? horse and the pdf manual says use 30 or 5w -30 oil? all above 32 degrees. no mention of under. the dealer who was a joke said use 10w - 30. so like WTF????? i bought...
does anyone have any diagrams and explanations how to chage the drive belt. my old different brands was a pain but i did it many times; however this is s terrible piece of #### and i never did it on this onbe before and manuals and instructions are notta or useless. thank you.
well used it last week after some serious COLD and sarted no issues. tried to start it today to get some stuff done and moved and not a grind sound, click, or notta. just nothing. charged the battery and tried again and no sound. newer battery so that is good. i replaced it a year plus ago...
Thank you to everyone who helped me get my max 25 running again and the info and pics and guidance to help me fix it myself. i am most appreciative for you all! norman
just got in and posting this - even before i look on the threads. Been a long dy and now frustrated. worked on the tractor for about an hr - shutdown for maybe 20' to take care of a new pup - just lost my best buddy a couple of weeks ago. went to start it - started - no probleem - got a...
max 25 hst - i can see the engine oil dipstick levels; but - how full should the hyrdo bee when you open the cap on the central column below the seat and also the level for the right front wheel gear oil for the 4 wheel drive?
you can see all of the parts and gears etc. and i guess you do not...
is this the most common size ball for a back hitch i want to put on my tractor? is this the normal most used size? i forgot what my last truck had on it.
I get this antigel diesel treatment at tsc - a gold/yellow color. says the small bottle should do about 200 gals diesel. i use more than what they call for at all fill-ups throughout the year to make sure that there is stuff in there esp going from summer to fall into winter and not always...
stupid dealer never showed me how just kind of rough explained it. sounded at the time that it was much easier than a simplicity. but no info on how to remove the deck. ca anyone explain it to me please?
well after 8 hr on the machine and issues started at 3 hrs. i finally sent a letter to the head honchos of husky. we'll see what happens. dealer was an absolute jerk and returned a mower with engine popping and stalling just like it was when they picked it up. they never looked at it until i...
in another thread i was question iditoic commnets by the dealer about not twoing anything with this tractor. the most to try to trailer if you do - is not more than 300 lbs including the driver. I thought that was BS - he said the company states the same too.
i have trailerd serious stuff...
ok i was wondering how my hours were rising so rapidly - cut my grass maybe 6x total at about an hr or an hr and a half each. i am up to 76 hrs. i noticed today that the hour changes by 1 hr every 7 minutes or so - anyone ever hear of such a thing. probably won't worry about it since the...
i have owned and used lawnmowertype garden tractors from 18 hp years ago to 24 hp. i have towed trailers full of wood etc for decades too. the larger HP i have used bigger trailers and hauled more weight without any issues to transmission, etc.
the current dealer i have - a husqvarna guy said...
anyone have any trans issues. after about 15 hrs or so on this new mower i noticed yesterday when i backed it into my shed that the trans sounded like nuts and bolts in there instead of that gear whine. called the dealer and the lady said they have had some issues with the trans so now i am...
well not in a need at the moment but i have wondered. how the **** do you get the battery in and out? does not seem possible without somehow taking the front end of the hood off or some such thing. thanks in advance.
they should have made it very easy to o instead of major construction...
Ok another dumb one.
i read here that turning the key left resets the glowplugs. well when i try to turn the key left of off it seems not to go any further - did not want to torque the key and break the unit. so do you people that own one of these do you actually turn it oast off to the left...
Re: a recent wheel seal leak i had in another thread. I bought the tractor 1 1/2 yrs ago from some mickey mouse part-time mahindra dealer in KY. nightmare place. Highland Rim Tractor is much farther and with having to have it trailered there and back - sounds like a hobbit story - eh? ----...
years ago i thought i saw and saved a link for the fel removal and re-connect - now cannot find it . anyone know of a GOOD Legit one? I do not plan on ever removing it unlike the midmower unit since i use bucket 99-100 of the time but....who knows. the other max26 xl i see has a different...
well when i got the more about 2 years ago i took the mod mower off so as not to bang it around when using the bucket which is my main use. well my garden tractor axle broke today - was ticked and figured I'd hook up the mower - have notes and watched the video may times but my main pto mower...
last year after and during excessively cold weather and snow that i needed the tractor - no start - fuel just too cold. been treating it with the diesel anti-gel stuff all year just to have it in the tank for when needed - again been close to zero for a week or so and expect to have 8"" of snow...
stupid question - is it necessary to always sue the glow plugs to start your tractor? or once it is warm there is no need to? last Fall when i got the max 25 i had to move some wood and in between loading i shut it off. a few times it would not start until i went through the glow plugs cycle...
serious question - the mod mower blades - how does one get access to them to sharpen them without having the dealer do it?
That unit is so freaking heavy - it seems impossible to tip up and then stabilize with one person. do not need to do it yet - since i have not used them yet but i was...
anyone else get one the owner's club hat from Mahindra? filled out a survey from them as a new owner - months after getting the tractor and i got a really nice black owners club mahindra hat. came in in about 3 weeks. rather quick for a freebie.
well very cold and my max 25 - first time would not start - drained the battery down a few times even after charging trying to get it started. could the diesel fuel be frozen? man of all the days i needed it to work and esp tomorrow with 15" of snow possible.
i finally topped off the battery...
I never got a cover with the tractor and have the mower off for most of the bucket work i do. The manual said to keep the cover on. I never got one. just receieved one from the dealer but was asking about how to put it on and how to use it. came with no bolts but there are obvious holes on...
does anyone know of the thread for the tool box that has the red TSC paint for a Max series tractor? I cannot find it - PM'd Oldpilgrim because i thought he was the one who made it - but no reply yet. thank you.
I read tha manual and talked to a few dealers. the dealers pretty much say that use the clutch to start and when engaging pto.
the manuals say to use clutch to start AND STOP the tractor, for use on all pto uses and also when changing from high to low gears on a hydrostat.
the ladies that...
does the Mahindra have caps that you remove on the grease fittings? I have never seen this before. Good idea if they are caps. Keep the fittings cleaner.
Boy I am ticked. a few days old and love the tractor but the bucket loader joystick piston is leaking hydraulic fluid all over. the right one that controls the bucket dump or tilt. Hope the dealer will take care of it - have to send him pics and he said he would have to order parts but looks...
The local dealer had no clue how to put on or remove the mid mower deck. I saw a video but I am not sure how to unhook the pto drive unto for the mower. can someone please explain what i am looking for and how to do it. need to remove it this am. Thank you.
I just bought a new Mahindra Max 25 with mower deck and front bucket. Just found this place. I have driven and used a tractor and bucket for most of 30 years. Now I have my own.
