    Trash pump. Gas or electric?

I thought about that but if I have to have someone pick up something with a gas motor and actually know how to run it I think I would take out 75% of my local city :) Generally we are not in a storm but we had 300 inches of snow so far so when it melts we are going to have an issue.

    Trash pump. Gas or electric?

Heavy 50' cord taped together so not falling apart in the water.
  3. S

    Trash pump. Gas or electric?

Just under 12. I would supply 50' of cord with it.

    Trash pump. Gas or electric?

Looking at purchasing a trash pump or sewage pump to rent out. We got 300" of snow this year and many basements will flood. The gas is higher flow but will require a truck to pick it up. It is louder and requires to be outside. Electric is cheaper to buy but will not flow as much. I am thinking...

For the folks with no snow...

Just North of me they tried getting the National Guard to come help shovel but were not successful. Many cattle barns have gone down now. I have been clearing driveways for over a week. Folks have to yell to me from the house as they cannot walk out to the road to greet me. I was at one house...

We get both. Not as powdery as I have seen out west but our temps can go very low making it powdery. Generally probably a little on the heavier side.

For the folks with no snow...

We are right at 300" so far this year. I will put up a few pics. The first one is of my house and you can see where my Mini Aussie Barney got up there and walked around a while. We had two storms that were 78" and 59". I run a snow blowing route of 79 driveways. I am hoping it quits soon. Enjoy...

Dog seat that goes onto instructor seat

I have a 20 pound mini Aussie that pretty much goes everywhere with me when I can make it safe. I run a snowblowing route and between going ahead and back she falls off of the...

    Snow plowing season started.

Yup I have a youtube channel. I do not do much with it. Generally all I get told is I should get a different blower. Like you guys I use what I have. Mine is great for what I do and can go into the deep but not as well as some others. I kind of wanted to show another side of what the blower can...

    Hydraulic accumulators...

I am running 900 psi in my 3 pt hitch with a 2k blower that sticks back quite a ways. I notice a little more bounce when the blower is encrusted in snow. I would guess an additional 3-400 pounds. With NY roads the way they are it rides great. Just slowly goes up and down. I also have a shut off...

    Snow plowing season started.

Posting a couple pics of snow for the folks that want to see some. I do 70 driveways all winter and have been in each of them 40 times so far this year. We have another 1-2 feet coming by Monday. We had an 80 inch storm last month. Mother nature can take a break any time now.

The blower I am running sits back a ways and weighs in at 2000 pounds. Speed on the road is crucial to being able to be profitable. I am running one on my 3 point hitch for a snow blower. Blower weighs in at 2k with no snow sitting on it. Tractor runs 2500 psi. I am now set at 900psi on the accumulator and can watch the blower even out the bumpy roads. It floats up and down about 4-6 inches and works great. Took a little...

You are right. I am set for deep but seldom use it. Everyone is all up in arms on youtube that a different blower would have worked better. You know what you and I do? We use what we own. Neither going out to spend money for one storm. I bet you have a sweet setup there.

I am turned around most of the time. If going a long stretch you may just look forward but only once you know exactly where you are not in a single opening driveway. 80" of snow turns into about 30 inches in less than a week. It gets pretty dense.

  40. S

Goldenrod 496 fuel water filter no good in the cold?

I really do not think I am gelling. I think it is a filter issue. I have never gelled before when colder. The difference is a new filter is now thrown in the mix so I thought I would ask if anyone has the same results with this filter. I have run to 25 below with no issues before but no pre...

  44. S

Goldenrod 496 fuel water filter no good in the cold?

Neighbors had 100% kerosene gel up and kill the furnace this week. It actually froze solid they said. I did not see it but know it was cold. I have enough additive in a 500 gallon tank for 2000 gallons. I have two different kinds in by the time I was done.
  45. S

Goldenrod 496 fuel water filter no good in the cold?

I believe it to be 15 microns
  46. S

Goldenrod 496 fuel water filter no good in the cold?

I think you are spot on. I am betting this filter is for gas or diesel and cannot handle the cold.
  47. S

Goldenrod 496 fuel water filter no good in the cold?

It is very cloudy at that temp. Never had an issue above zero but when we dipped below the filter gave up. This is a water block filter.

Goldenrod 496 fuel water filter no good in the cold?

Have had a 500 gallon diesel tank for a few years and all going great. Run tons of additives in the winter with zero issues. New Kubota M6 windshield washer flows back into reservoir

If I did not have to use it often it would not be an issue. Snow blowing for a living makes it see a lot of use. Trying to drive down a road with 6" of snow on it holding down the button for 30 seconds to get nothing is annoying. If this is the norm I will look into a valve to put in the line.

New Kubota M6 windshield washer flows back into reservoir

My new Kubota M6 front windshield washer drains back into the reservoir. It takes over 30 seconds to get water to the windshield. Dealer tech says they all do it. I have never had a tractor do it. If this is standard I can put a valve in the line but I cannot expect this happens to everyone...

    Pull type Hybrid snowblowers ?

You back up to one garage and head down a long driveway. No way I would spend the money on a cyclone. Yours does everything mine will with a few bucks left in your pocket.
  63. S

    Pull type Hybrid snowblowers ?

I cannot speak on any other brand of hybrid as this is all I have run. Most would say this is the best as that is what I have. I will not say that as I have never compared.
  64. S

    Pull type Hybrid snowblowers ?

Pretty much the same as my 92 Cyclone. I am generally running about 450 rpm but hardly ever in the deep stuff. Lower rpm means higher gear meaning less range changes when I get to the road.
  65. S

    Pull type Hybrid snowblowers ?

I did exactly that to a land pride blower I had years ago and it made an amazing diff. Very noticeable in the slush that is almost water.
  66. S

    Pull type Hybrid snowblowers ?

Many differences here. The main one is probably the diameter of the blower. I expect his is a 27" giving a higher tip speed. Snow density is always a factor. HP when you can really load the snow into the blower makes it throw further. He has a beautiful setup there. Not a typical homeowner...

    Pull type Hybrid snowblowers ?

I have run front mounts and they certainly have their place. I like being able to take my blower off and hook to a trailer or whatever and be back to snow in 15 minutes. I do not run a loader with the inverted as it makes me too long for doing driveways but I could if I wanted to. The problem I...

    Compact Track Loader

Traded my svl75-2 in today for the 75-3. I pick it up tomorrow. Damn lot of money so I better like it. I did not care for the hydraulics on my 75-2. I am also on a very heavy mower. Kubota says more torque. I am hoping so. I put a tune on my 75-2. Hoping not to on the new one.
  72. S

    Pull type Hybrid snowblowers ?

I can only speak on the larger inverted and my 92" sits so far back from my tractor that a tractor that says it can lift it may not. I doubt you have that issue though
  73. S

    Pull type Hybrid snowblowers ?

Access doors to the chute is awesome in my line of work. I run with no shoes but only doing 3 gravel driveways. I love inverted but they cost more. I believe they follow the tractor much better as they tend to float more with the tractor than a push type. Not sure one brand is that much better...
  74. S

    Pull type Hybrid snowblowers ?

I cannot tell you what size you need as many others can help. I am a believer that x amount of hp is going to move x amount of snow regardless of blower width. The first pass is the only pass you have to do full width. If you decide to get a larger tractor down the road maybe a blower a little...
  75. S

    Pull type Hybrid snowblowers ?

Many of us carry small shovels. I take the jack off and use that. Works great. No additional stuff to make sure it does not fall off.
  76. S

    Pull type Hybrid snowblowers ?

Huge diff in front of garage doors. The volume of the blower will pretty much be determined by fan diameter, width and the auger feeding it. I find them to be pretty much even in the big snow.

General opinions on R1 vs. R14 tires?

Nokian i Tri2 are a diff breed altogether. I use them in snow and they are great on the road. Probably not the traction of either R tires. More of a specialty tire. They are not cheap. I won't have them on my next tractor as pretty much none affordable. They are over 10k for the 4 of them.
  78. S

General opinions on R1 vs. R14 tires?

I am looking at a Kubota M6-131. These come with 38" R1 tires. The R14's are a 4500 dollar addition and go to a 42" rim. I only snow blow with the tractor and think the R14 would road better and longer due to more tread on the road. I think if I got hired to do some field work they would be...

  80. S

    Pull type Hybrid snowblowers ?

The older style works just fine in your own yard and was used commercially for a long time. Less money than the hybrid and only real noticeable diffs are at each end of the run. I have had them and they worked great.
  81. S

    Pull type Hybrid snowblowers ?

87" would that have been a Meteor?
  82. S

    Pull type Hybrid snowblowers ?

I expect you will love it. Folks that have never run one will make fun of it or say it cannot go through 3' of snow etc. In my line of work if I get in 3' of snow I have been fired. I run with the storm. I have found no downside to the inverted blowers. I think one bonus is that something...
  83. S

    Pull type Hybrid snowblowers ?

Little diff idea than I am use to but sounds like it should work
  84. S

    Pull type Hybrid snowblowers ?

Thats odd. They look a lot like a Cyclone. When a Cyclone is sitting level the cutting edge has a 6 degree pitch. Lowering the front makes that pitch more aggressive and raising the front makes it less aggressive.
  85. S

    Pull type Hybrid snowblowers ?

If this is anything like our Cyclones shortening the front arm makes it more aggressive. Think of it as a box blade with an auger. Lengthen the top arm to make it less aggressive.

I cannot name many blowers that actually fell apart. Blowing distance is partially fan size and fan tolerance. If...

Snow Blower Sizing - Opinions Wanted

I understand the concern for what you want to run. I also look at it far differently than most. I believe you can run whatever you can lift. HP is what is required to move x tons of snow per hour from one location to another. Width only sets the mph. If you go with a larger fan that is going to...

    Mahindra 2655 comments

Had one and loved it. TYM has a diff motor setup that in my opinion is not as good as the Mahindra motor. Ran the 2655 in my business for two years and ran it hard. No issues.

Buying Advice Maybe going from Kubota to Mahindra.

I have had two Mahindra tractors in my business. They got used hard with no issues. I would not get all hyped on how much they can lift though. Just because it can does not mean it should. You need major rear ballast to get the loader to max lift. I think customer service is probably better with...

Grapple ideas and how are these companies?

I run a dual lid EA. I looked at quite a few and thought they looked the best at the time. I cannot say it is the best as I have not tried anything different. Inverted Snow Blower

In my line of work I do not know which I prefer. The snow I can see. The wind blown drifts I would almost have to drive my route to see who had anything. Some would have none and some would be snowed in.
  116. S

    Inverted Snow Blower

We had a storm last week where we were predicted 3-5" and we got 22". This happens pretty often. We also have many times we are predicted 3-5 and get none like we were 4 days ago.
  117. S

    Inverted Snow Blower

I understand what you are saying. Paris can get breezy down there. I get the snow you get the wind. I never see 3-6 foot drifts here or at least not in a long time. The banks at the end of the driveway....yup they could be an issue. When they get hard your tractor is certainly going to struggle...

    Inverted Snow Blower

Few years ago I was on a cruise. My guys had a very hard storm. Main guy hits a door laying in the driveway and sucked it it. Inverted Snow Blower

In your video you mention using a box blade. You will attest to an inverted being nothing more than a box blade that blowes snow. It really is that simple. I think you would agree.
  120. S

    Inverted Snow Blower

As with any blower try to have a level driveway. I mean no tracks with a higher center. The center will be gone in the spring but can raise heck with the blower. Before first snow walk the driveway and toss large stones off to the side. You will be fine.

    Inverted Snow Blower

I have to look back as I am for hire and most driveways are 100' or less. It is impressive how quickly I can blow over a light pole side the driveway. :) With going ahead and back short distances I think the looking back is probably pretty equal. If doing only your own driveway I expect you...

I understand your logic on a long driveway. I do some that are longer but would not call them long by some folks idea of long. I am unsure where distance comes in though? Inverted Snow Blower

I am unsure why you would not want input from the commercial guys. We have run these blowers more than anyone else. I am also not going to tell you to go out and purchase a setup like mine. Case 110c vs Kubota M5-111

The Kubota actually runs a larger displacement at higher rpm. That is the part I did not understand. I would have expected lower rpm more torque. The main thing that the M5 has going for it is the external lift cylinders on the 3 point hitch. Many in my line of work are breaking the lift...

    Case 110c vs Kubota M5-111

The layout on the Kubota is nice. The quality looks has to go to Case. The Case has push button 4wd where the Kubota has a lever to pull. I use that a lot. I like the button. It does come on the Kubota 24 speed but not looking to spend that for snow blowing.

They are more alike than diff. Both are 12 speeds. Cabs are very much the same. Defrost goes to the Kubota as I can get it in the rear window. The quality looks of the cab goes to the Case. The 3 point hitch lift lever goes to the Kubota. Horsepower at 540 goes to the Case. Torque deff. goes to...
