Yeah, not sure I'm gonna look at that any further, it just seems to be too boxed in, and although I haven't dug into it too much further, it's got an odd zoning/land-use of RR (Rural Residential). Typically almost everything around here is zoned A2 Ag, and generally, I'm pretty familiar with that.

As a brief add to the sketching topic; I didn't realize the property appraiser GIS site included a rectangle and polygon tool. Its kinda not ideal; as when drawing a rectangle, you get the area, but then you need to place straight lines beside it to get length dimensions, or draw lines, then...

MF 2850M/2860M Deluxe Cab vs Yanmar YT347/359 Cab

The MF2850M is the premium tractor, 100% the equal of Deer/Kubota, and frankly, priced like one. There is also the 2850E, with less premium features, that may or may not be a direct comparison to the Yanmar.

Can't tell you how many videos, guy shoots 1 group of 5, and calls one of the shots a flyer, and says this thing shoots 1 MOA "all day long". Bullcrap, it shot 1 group that you video, thats 1.47" but when you decide to delete 1 of the 5, you can call it a 1" group. In reality, you want humbled...

    TODAY'S GUN TIME

If a factory gun can shoot several types of factory ammo, specific to your task. at 1.5" 5 round group (not cherry picking, calling flyers, ect), that is a Great shooting gun. If that same gun can shoot 2.5" groups, repeatedly, with factory ammo (specific to task), that's 100% a whitetail rifle...

    TODAY'S GUN TIME

Everyone throws around the term 1 MOA rifle, and I think 90% of people don't either understand that, Or don't want to be honest. Sure, 1 MOA, with a specific brand/SKU of factory ammo is doable (less common than advertised), but is that what you are hunting with? I have 1 rifle that can pretty...

Pictures from a skid steer mowing contractor

Happened to see this on way to work, along a RR to trail, where powerline was mowing. Pulled over to check, and it's about 80 LF of rail road rail, and it looks like he didn't get it with the mulcher and just pushed it out of underbrush/ground while turning his tracks.

    MIG Welder for Beginner/Light Use

Only thing I would differ on is the 'buy real cheap, and then buy quality later'. I would try to buy something Cost effective, in the cheaper end, but not truly the absolute cheapest made. Basically something that won't need trash canned once you out grow it; something that will still function...

I would always say dual voltage is better, however, through modern electrical trickery and magic, they really are able to do a lot more with 120V machines then they could 15 years ago.

So, sorry if this questions your intelligence, but we all do stupid stuff, so When you touched the flux wire to the ground, and got nothing, you Were pulling the trigger, right? MIG Welder for Beginner/Light Use

Yogi, I really would start the Amazon return process. You paid for more than one function; also, assuming we are talking a reasonably sized stick rod, we shouldn't need 140 amps to burn 3/32; and even with 1/8 rods, we should be able to strick and maintain an arc at 90-120 amps. Something is...

    MIG Welder for Beginner/Light Use

Yogi, I just thought of something. When I got my Vevor 270, I tried it at first using the included dryer style to 3 prong 20A/120v and everything worked fine. I dont have a dryer style 220v in shed, so I ordered a dryer to 25a/220v twist lock (that's what my generator has, old welder, and shed)...

So, yes, I would give turning it up a try; BUT, if that does nothing, I would contact Amazon for return info. That's the beauty of Amazon, you have 30 days to change your mind, so don't waste too much, if it looks like a DOA, get that thing shipped back.

What do you drive for a truck?

Not to talk you out of spending your money, but even if you drop $12k on a crate motor and install, you'd be well ahead of the $60k+ your looking at on a new truck. It's not just the truck payments, it's the insurance and all to go with that $900/month payment.

I dont know that the county would allow the 5.5 to be broken off. I know nowadays, they would never allow a parent parcel to be broken up like this; I think the min access easement is 20 ft, for a single easement, going upto 40 ft if serving more than a single parcel. In theory, they are suppost...
  163. paulsharvey

    Property Question

I was thinking the same thing; 5.5 acres of bottom land might be almost worthless, but if you could pick up some of the other people's worthless pieces of dryish bottom, that's approx 80 acres of lake bottom, that is mostly sand/grass, with several 1-5 acre wet ponds remaining.

I imagine it could be...
  168. paulsharvey

    Property Question

Maybe the better question, would be, what would you value 5.5 acres of difficult to access wetlands, that is dry enough most of the year to drive on, but can not be built on. If it was swamp instead of praiere, it would be much better as a hunting area, but this looks like a mix of praire and...
  169. paulsharvey

    Property Question

I'm wondering what the reasoning for these parcel shapes is. I could 100% understand a Pie of the parcel extending into old lake bed/praiere, but its just really weird to see a piece like that, with many other parcels also having 'trails' leading to their own polygon of lake bottom.
  170. paulsharvey

    Property Question

Technically, it is contiguous, as it's an 8-10 ft wide piece of the same parcel that connects it to the lower piece, all as a single parcel. That 8-10 ft (scaling, says 8 ft wide, but probably actually a 10 feet strip) is all part of the same parcel. That would be the only access to this lowland...

I know we pretty much assume power, but I used to have to drag cords out, and was limited to 15 amps of 110v. When I add the power, it...

    TODAY'S GUN TIME

Don't think I'm gonna jump on this, But I will admit I was impressed enough by the price to watch a video or two on them; but $539 for a 357 mag lever gun is a tempting. It's got an aluminum receiver, which should be fine; not 100% sure, but it kinda looks like the front barrel band/mag tube...

    Student Loan Debt?

The wealthy people I know, typically, on casually meeting them, you'd never know. They don't buy expensive clothes, most drive nice, but not special trucks, don't take flashy vacations, and many, their home is on the nicer side of average, but they really appear to be typical middle-class...

    Student Loan Debt?

Oh yeah, 100%, but it is the students loan, the parent is not responsible. Now, what's even crazier is the Parents Plus loans or whatever they try to sell you on; and that is 100% the parents loan to repay.

    Student Loan Debt?

The student is an adult, and can do as they see fit; but that's also one of the paradoxes. They are an adult, and can sign up for whatever loan; but the parents income counts against them until they are married, or if they get to what 25/26? Not sure why my income affects another adult?

Also, with this, you might want to run every other outlet with a 'twin' down below the bench. Say you have 4 outlets set at 52" or so; put 1 or 2 down at 32" or so, for your shop vac or other ground mounted tools. It's only gonna cost you like $2.50 in additional wire, and about $10 for another...

    TODAY'S GUN TIME

Got a scope question, or request for opinions... Got to out something on that Savage 93 Mininimlist better than the CV Life that was collecting dust in my closet. This is mostly a small game, fun, plinking, and garden/chicken defense gun. I found ebay auction for a Leupold 2-7×33 Rifleman...

Got asked to bid a very unusual project

So down here Gopher Turtles are the main one on land, and they are endangered/protected. Except, apparently, card carrying legit Seminole Indians can remove/kill/eat/whatever, and I've heard of atleast one guy offering that service :)

Set your work benches up at "bar stool" height. It's much more comfortable for standing work, and your gonna be standing a lot more then sitting; plus, you can have some bar stools in there for that.

    Hog Hunting Public Land

Nope, but a friend of a friend's brother saw one out there about 10 years ago :)

    Hog Hunting Public Land

So, also, should throw out there, in 6 or maybe 8 trips out to this WMA (not all to the same place, covered 4 primary areas); I only saw 1 person, and he was riding a dirt bike, and didn't appear to be hunting.

    Hog Hunting Public Land

It did not, but did see fresh hog scat on the trail that led to the area. I am pretty dang sure they where in the area while the camera was up, but angle must have been wrong. Did consistently see deer, and had a couple coyotes on there as well. These WMAs, your kinda in a predicament; do you...

    Landscape

Landscape Rake? 5 ft would probably be $250-600; 6 ft might be $300-700. It would have to be pristine to be near the top of those ranges.

    Hog Hunting Public Land

Small game ended today, and I didn't get on any hogs. I found some sign, and a really good looking area, just didn't get on any hogs. I did see a fair number of deer.

    TODAY'S GUN TIME

Depends entirely on the use case. For a defensive (or offensive) shotgun, I'd take a pump 100% of the time; for small game/birds; umm, I'd really like to add a proper O/U shotgun. You can have #7.5s in one barrel and #4s in the other; or an improved cylinder and a full choke, for those longer shots.

    Student Loan Debt?

Anyone think the Ultra high price private colleges that offer Huge scholarship dollars, but well less than tuition is kinda a scam? I know my little brother had like $60k scholarship offer from Duke, but that was only like 40%. Son got an offer of $112k of scholarship from Stetson, but at...

Determining Acceptable Value of Inherited Real Estate?

At this point, it seems pretty cut and dry; the OP is too pay purchase the property for appraised value, and disburs 1/3 of the funds to each of the other two siblings. Our OP would have zero obligation to attempt to increase the value, which actually works directly against him

    TODAY'S GUN TIME

No idea how well it works (which really is a major factor) but Whitt Machine Dirty 30 is only $299 plus stamp, for a compact, light, 30 cal direct thread option. I wouldn't drop the $500 based on the Lack of info on their website, like length, weight, decimel reduction, ect. I see the "package"...

For a 100% balanced view on supressors; if they where Cheap, and unregulated, I would still have several guns that I wouldn't bother with suppressing. Pistols in general, I probably wouldn't bother with, and some 22LR rifles; as well, it's nice to have a really compact/light/mobile rifle at times.

What do you drive for a truck?

Can't remember if I bought it up on here; but I think it's the 2025 Ram 1500? that is running an optional twin turbo straight 6 cylinder, small displacement motor, with two set ups, a mild and wild tune of the same motor, with the upgraded one making like 500hp/550ft/#. Not sure that's 100%...
