    Ford 2000 Engine Seized

Definitely not the way I wanted to fix it, but I really want to finish restoring my '52 Ford F1. Just finished rebuilding the original flathead for her. Off to get that back in and everything else situated. Hoping to be ready for the road by summer. I was open with the guy and told him...

    Ford 2000 Engine Seized

So everyone didn't think I just disappeared without giving what my solution was, and I'm sure I'm going to regret it later on, but I sold the 2000 just a min ago on a whim... Posted it for sale a couple months back and procrastinated a guy after deciding not to sell it. He reached back out...

    Ford 2000 Engine Seized

Fantastic tip and I will certainly keep this in mind! I tried rocking with a 2x4 and 2x8 last night, and all I succeeded in doing was digging a 1 foot hole with the board - ground was a little wet too though

    Ford 2000 Engine Seized

No, I haven't tried that yet. May give that a shot this evening if the grounds not too wet, appreciate the idea. Wish I had a second person who could help me rock it but unfortunately don't.

    Ford 2000 Engine Seized

Yep that's correct, looks just like a torx bit, but I assumed it wasn't one due to the age, guess that's what I get for thinking! I'll see if I can't find a way to determine the size so I know what to buy, appreciate it.

    Ford 2000 Engine Seized

I got the old mud hornets nests cleared out the hole on the bottom front end of the Tractor to access the crank. I'll probably sound like an idiot, but the best way I can describe it as is a large 7 point star point hole that I need something to stick in it to try to turn it with a breaker bar -...

    Ford 2000 Engine Seized

Fantastic, I appreciate it! I will definitely be checking this out tonight. Breaker bars are always so much easier

    Ford 2000 Engine Seized

Man, I would much rather throw a breaker bar on the crank and would have done this a week ago if I realized this was possible? I couldn't feel a nut in the crank pulley, but there is one? Do I need to remove the front white cover to access it? FWIW, I have been removing the plugs when trying...

    Ford 2000 Engine Seized

I did say 1.5 years and jtmay have been 2 or 2.5, but nothing crazy. I've only owned it 6 or 7 years myself, and ran it all the time every year, and just parked it a year ago to never try to start it again till now. Right now I've got whatever is left from the ATF I couldn't suck out and a bit...

    Ford 2000 Engine Seized

Sounds great, thanks you 2 for the great tips. Luckily, and unfortunately,.it started raining today and will be for a few more days. I say luckily, because that gives stuff more time soak before I try to rock it again. Thanks again for the tips and much appreciated! I feel like I have a good...

    Ford 2000 Engine Seized

No luck yet, still rocking away a few times a day. Tried sucking as much ATF out as I could and used about a half a can of Seafoam Deep Creep spread between all 3 cylinders. Maybe tomorrow will be the day I get lucky and she breaks loose. I know I got blisters from rocking it so often and hard...

    Ford 2000 Engine Seized

I actually have some lacquer thinner, but couldn't get any thumbs on that so I never tried it. I'm about to suck whatever fluid I put in there and try some Sea Foam Deep Creep for a day or 2. If that doesn't work, I'll switch to the lacquer/atf mixture. Glad to know I can use that now.

    Ford 2000 Engine Seized

I'm glad I saw your reply, I was literally about to walk to the truck now but won't anymore. I started with about 1/3 qt of atf spread between all 3 cyl. Then added some PB last night, not sure if it'll do anything with the ATF in there. Think I'm fine keeping what's already in there in it?

    Ford 2000 Engine Seized

Sounds great, thanks again. Actually already drained the oil once and surprisingly was still rather clean from the last time I used it, so I suspect sludge will be minimal but definitely worth being sure its clean anyways. Will certainly do everything you said. She's been soaking 3 days now...

    Ford 2000 Engine Seized

Thanks for the good explanation, I appreciate it. After getting it unstuck, would it be sufficient to use a shop vac on the holes to get as much leftover fluid as I can, and then just crank a bit with no plugs in to clear the rest? Really trying to avoid hydrolocking, first time I've ever done...

    Ford 2000 Engine Seized

Sounds good, I appreciate it! Actually had someone else reccomend the Acetone mixture to me last night, but didn't have any on hand so I went with straight ATF. I halfway pushed it out it's rut and threw it in gear with the fluid sitting in there. I probably won't get that lucky, but I'm hoping...

    Ford 2000 Engine Seized

I parked my Ford 2000, 3 cyl gas, for about a year and a half and it is now seized. I poured ATF in after removing spark plugs last night to let it soak and was going to try to break her free this evening. Any tips you could offer? I was going to try rocking it while in gear (3rd gear high)...

Year 2, more plow setup issues

I wish I could get 2 furrows, so not gonna get it to the third one for a picture. I can occasionally get one furrow with a real uneven bottom, then I go back around and drop the wheels in there, and then absolutely nothing more times than not. Occasionally I can get it to go down some and then...

    Ford 2000 - 3 pt lift issues?

As the title says, I've got a Ford 2000 and have been struggling to get a good plow to run right, and I now think the reasoning is to something wrong with my lift system. With the tractor off and no attachments attached, if I lift up on the leveling arm, it moves up a little bit before the lift...

Year 2, more plow setup issues

As some may remember, I played **** last year trying to get my Double bottom setup on my Ford 2000 and pretty much ended up having to wing it in the long run to have a decent seed bed. Well, this is the 2nd year I've had it now and can't get it set up for the life of me and am getting nowhere...

Buttercup infestation in wheat and oats

As the title says, I've got a buttercup infestation in some of my oats and a bit of my wheat. Both have grain growing really well on them and are about a month from harvest. Really dark green goes quickly to a light green where the buttercups are really thick at, and it's really starting to...

Which to use? Plow or discs?

This is the first year I've had the luxury of having a tractor to help to do work, but I haven't fully figured out when to use all my different attachments yet. I've got one small tract that Im going to be planting that was plowed and disced about a month ago, and has just sat there since with...

    Another plow setup question

ovrszd, does it appear to you that my plow is too deep in this picture? If it is, that would seem to explain the extreme pull to the left and my need to attempt to try again with draft control instead of purchasing new parts first. I unfortunately dont have anyone local that I can talk to about...

    Another plow setup question

With the draft control - when I set up the plow on blocks and have it in the proper spot, do I move the draft control lever down until it just begins to lift the plow? And then when I'm moving around, can it lift back up with position control or do I have to take draft control off to lift it up...

    Cultivator for weed control

I've been struggling at finding the info that I'm looking for, so figured I'd make a post here. I've recently got some ground ready for planting, but now can't seem to decide what size rows to plant. I know it will depend someone on what will be planted. I've got approximately 42 inches...

    Another plow setup question

After trying to get the plow set up today, I was able to get some help unloading my discs from the trailer to be able to level the ground out. I'm thinking part of my issue was the ground being so rough and uneven from messing it up with that spung plow. Now that I was able to disc it and get it...

    Another plow setup question

Thanks for the very detailed explanation and pictures. I think I've come very close to having it set up right, but I think it could do a little better. I got everything lined up with the centerline, or so I think I do, and it wants to pull to the left with the top link angled, not pulling...

    Another plow setup question

As some of you may remember from a somewhat recent post of mine, I got screwed by this guy and was sold a plow that was sprung and it was impossible to get it set up properly. I ended up running into a steal of a deal on a 14" double bottom Leinbach plow this week and it's still pretty much in...

    Heavy discs on Ford 2000?

I'm in desperate need of getting some discs, and can't seem to find a set of used ones in good enough shape. I was considering buying a set of County line 7' heavy discs. I've got a 3 cylinder gas Ford 2000. Will my tractors hydraulics be able to lift these discs with no issue? Thanks

    Plow questions and good match?

Is it just me, or does it really seem like my issues are coming from my top link being on the left side? I'm feeling like I need to move some links around and move it to the right. Any thoughts on this? I still can't get it going right.

    Plow questions and good match?

Ok, I've got a few more questions after messing with it again tonight. I tired setting it up on blocks but didn't have much of any luck. It was pitch black out and I only had a headlamp, and could only get the rear plow to start to dive down good, but pop back out and ride the top of the ground...

    Plow questions and good match?

I tried doing that on the cement with some blocks but am having trouble getting the front pointed slightly down. Do you know what would be causing it to drift all the way to the left? As you can see in the picture, that was done with only the front plow engaged and was so far to the left it...

    Hydraulics moving without touching controls

1970 Ford 2000 3 Cyl Gas The other week I went to replace the pto seal on the tractor, and something came up and wasn't able to finish it. The farthest I got was draining the rear oil and refilling it. The old oil seemed to have a bit of water contamination in it. (Not sure if this bit of...

I'm in need of getting a plow for use around the property, and was browsing Agrisupply's website tonight. When looking at their plows, I found 2 similar plows, but they're extremely different in price. I'm new to the tractor world and not familiar with all the ins and outs yet. Could someone...

    Ford 2000 Hydraulic Leak

As the title says, I've got a 3 cyl Ford 2000, I believe it's a '68 but the specific year shouldn't matter. On the right side of the tractor, there are 2 lines (1 larger 1 smaller diameter) running there in which I assume both are hyd lines. There's a bit of hyd oil over the fitting where it...
