Haven't updated in a while. Spent a bit of time this summer at a friend's house pulling out gardens, stumps, rocks. Building some small walls and redoing the back lawn. Installed electric to an outbuilding and fixed a collapsed culvert. But more firewood as well.

There is no way you are going to be able to tow something that large with a 3/4 ton truck. Even a E42 will be pushing it once you have it loaded on the trailer. As far as size vs a backhoe I think anything 3.5t and up will compete very well with a M59 size or Deere 110 but be much more...

Merry Christmas all! Curious if anyone knows what my Case has for a preheat system if any? It's a 3 cylinder yanmar and it fires up right away when it's 15 degrees out. I see no preheat light or glow plug indicator which is different in my experience. Anyone know?

3600LBS sure is impressive for a machine that size! I would have loved a Kx040-4 but people wanted WAY to much money for them. I find myself using the Case for just about everything, its a handy thing to have.

Building a cement retaining wall. This little mini is a beast. Lifting 2450lbs.....not sure I would want to work with this weight but it will move it. Each block is 1klbs so very manageable.

GM 6.0 is a great motor, reliable but sucks fuel and not the most powerful. Has some issues with broken manifold bolts but so do most HD trucks. The 6l90 behind it is a pretty reliable trans. Ford 6.2 is also a great motor, reliable, more power than a 6.0 but similar MPG. Also breaks manifold...

Great trucks in my opinion. Pulls whatever you may need, not the fastest or most efficient but they ride great and are reliable.

Foam in the fluid...sounds like it has lots of air in the system.

I tried to figure out my doors weight rating as well and could never come up with a number. I have no doubt its probably not rated for what the trailer is rated to haul though.

Got a quick coupler....company from upstate NY so not too far away. So far very happy with it. It will span a pretty wide distance from pin centers so I should have some flexibility. My question is though, the width has some space in it. Is this normal or so I need to tack some spacers in there?

I did remeasure with calipers...they are 40MM not 45MM so the coupler I had found didnt work out. Tring to find other options.

Sounds normal to me. Thats a lot of leverage with the boom extended and thus takes a lot more force to push things. Swing motors are not supposed to be strong enough to push a whole lot. Is it weak or does not not want to work at all?

Safer to leave it in. Just tossing it in the back of a truck creates a 45lb missile in the event of an accident. If properly stowed it's one thing, but most just would put it in the truck bed.

The Kubota 057-4 is a pretty darn nice machine. The 080 is large for sure but I do not believe its that much more stronger then the 057. Cats are nice.....but I would rather a Kubota.

They are decently situated now. I wouldn't be overly worried about a DEF system on a modern rig. Sure they can still have issues but pretty reliable these days. Would rather a modern system then one of the mid 2000 which had pretty bad teething problems when they started to introduce them.
