We currently have 5 dogs. All are rescues, all are either labs or lab mixes, and all are a close part of our family. One of them goes in for surgery tomorrow to have a lump removed from his throat. He's still young-ish at 6 or 8 (dang, have to think about that one, not really sure on his age at...
Same here. Even half standing up in the cab, I can't see the hitch over the hood to line it up for hitching.
It's "on" the ball now.
I even tried a flipped over drop hitch, which helps a little bit, but still almost impossible to line up without getting out first.
I just wrap a chain around each front corner of the tractor frame for the front tie downs, and run chains out to the back corner tie downs off of a straight clevis hitch on my draw bar in back. Binders on each corner. Don't need any "hooks". Works fine for me.
I have had several hoses made by a local hydraulic shop. I know they also rebuild cylinders, I've just not had to have mine done yet. But they have done cylinders for folks I know. Point is, this is not something you should have to go to a "dealer" for. See if a local hydraulic shop can rebuild...
Neil actually received so much blow back for the way he "set up" that original test. He had to do a second video to talk about it. Said it was his most attacked video he ever put out (to that date anyway). You could tell he was not expecting that much heat.
If you wanted to design a test to...
My HST is 3 range. I'm almost always in M range. I load and unload it off my trailer in L range, but that's usually the only time I'm in L at all. I very seldom road my tractor anywhere due to how far away my mowing jobs are from me. I trailer it to my jobs. I mow small, up to large jobs...
Only time I run mine wide open is when I'm cutting down heavy or thick stuff that needs it. Rest of the time its half throttle at best and feathering it as I go. No need to run it harder if it's cutting down what you're aiming at. Had an old timer small engine mechanic (one of the best in the...
I had a similar situation as the OP a year or so back, my riding mower quit running in the middle of my back yard. So I went in with my tractor and picked up the whole thing (love having forks for the FEL also!) and carried it around and into my garage to work on it.
Turned out to be just a...
I use the same fluid. Rated to -58F. Been using it for 2 years, year 'round, zero problems. $210 per 5 gal bucket is current price, with "member" discount, can order it direct from amsoil website and it's still free shipping when you order $100 or more. Signing up for a "membership" is $20/year...
If you need 50 hp at the pto, get a tractor rated for 50 hp at the pto. The attachment you power (in this case, a mower) is going to have NO IDEA what transmission type is dragging it around.
There are plenty of hydro equipped tractors available with 50+ pto rated hp. Ignore the engine hp...
AG exemption does not require a MEC card. But it is within 150 miles of the farm, and can only go out of state if that neighboring state has a reciprocity agreement with your home farm state. There are other limitations, no doubles/triples, etc. And I think the vehicle has to be registered with...
If you drive commercial in state, you will still need to have a MEC card on you while you are driving that commercial vehicle. The main difference is the state (WI in your case) isn't requiring you to have a copy of that MEC card on file in the state system (which is actually tied to the...
I was incorrect. It is federal mandate, not insurance company mandate.
As far as keeping your CDL even though you are not using it, I believe most (if not all) states have a CDL category "intrastate" (means in state only, in ND it is a "Category 3" CDL), where a MEC card (Medical Examiner...
I guess I come from a different place than the OP. I would contact the neighbor and apologize for being on his land in the first place, explain my mistake in locating the property boundary, offer to show him what and where I made "changes" to his property and ask him what, if anything he wanted...
With Friday's snow, we finally had enough on the ground for me to bother with. Used my 3pt blower and FEL mounted bucket + Edge Tamers to clear the driveways and parking area yesterday. I think it's only the 2nd or 3rd time I've had to do it this winter. Don't even have the tractor plugged in to...
What is the operating temp range of the fluid the deere dealer put in?
Yes, it matters. Maybe the guy running the lube rack that day was an idiot and put in the wrong fluid.
I run synthetic hydro all year round and have zero issues operating down to -40 F (C).
It makes the "other guys" feel better. This way they're not reminded that they spent WAY too much money on their silly colored tractors.
:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:
All depends on what you're used to I guess.
When I went from my 74 Dodge 3/4 ton 4x4 "camper special", to my 2012 Ford F-250 4x4 (gas engine), I couldn't believe the difference in the ride. The Ford drives like a Lincoln Towncar compared to my old Dodge. I keep load range E tires on my Ford...
Let's see, off the top of my head...
Encore, Gould, Perk & Elmer, HP (HP-1000), DEC (PDP-11's, VAX 11/785's, microvax's, vax stations), IBM, Honeywell. Probably forgetting a few... Worked on each of the above at one point or another.
Couldn't agree more. "Horsey People" are a giant pain in the @zz.
My father used to get so tired of their b.s. when buying bales of hay. One of the reasons he was glad to be out of the business was no longer having to deal with all the high maintenance attitudes. You'd think each and every one...
Yeah, no where in your post, which I quoted, did you state you were speaking exclusively about DE and PA. Sounded more like to me that you were making a blanket statement about all US states.
I don't have a ccw and frankly, have no intention of getting one. However, I know that your last statement is incorrect. Many states have a "reciprocity agreement" where they honor each other's ccw permit. I know there are "lists" out there among the interwebs that will show you which states...
Go 16' walls and 14' door. At least one door should go 14' anyway, so you can get a future RV in and out of the building. My 5th wheel just goes under my 14' door. And my building is 40x70, which looked huge when we bought the place and the building was empty. Now it's full, lol. I'd like to...
What?
You most certainly do NOT need to "pull the rear wheels as part of the 50 hour service (sic)".
Check the torque on the lugs, sure. But pull the wheels off? Nope.
Get a proper truck with a height adjustable driver's seat. It's not possible to not "see over the hood" of a Tundra. Sorry, not buying the hyperbole.
I've seen 5' tall ladies driving dually crew cab trucks, other than being slightly comical to watch them climb in and out of it, they handle the...
It is specific DoD policy to NOT tell the general public if the balloon goes up. Last thing they want is a bunch of panicked civilians clogging up the highways and major crossroads.
This.
But more importantly, what is YOUR version of "cold"? What is the coldest temps (NO "windchill" BS) in ambient air temperature that your tractor will see?
Some folks version of "cold" is almost laughable.
Make sure your engine oil and hydraulic oil are rated for the temps you're...
That's because you live in a climate controlled part of the country.
I'll see you up here in Feb, when it's 5am, it's -40F and the wind is blowing snow sideways at 30-40 mph, and the driveway has 3-4 feet of drifted snow on it that has to be cleared so you can get to work. That's no cheating...
I have a block heater, an oil pan heater, and a hydro sump heater on my 25 series Branson. In winter time I have all 3 plugged in to a pig tail zip tied to my FEL mount and plug it into an outdoor timer. It takes about an hour for it to warm up enough that I can just fire it right off with one...
If you want to get rid of the clumps and windrows so it doesn't "look like crap", then you should be looking at 3 spindle batwing type mowers. That or you're going to have to start cutting it much more often, to keep it from getting tall. Tall grass and weeds cut with a single spindle brush...
How come the thread "Today's Gun Time" was buried underneath the "Front Porch" and that absolute cesspool of a thread "EV Owners of (whatever it has to be now because it's been shutdown so often) is still in "Rural Living"?
Today's gun time has a lot more to do with RURAL LIVING than a thread...
I have the exact same blower. I put bolt on Edge Tamers on mine. One on each end and one in the middle. Zero problems or issues. I have a gravel driveway and never pick up rocks. Works well on the grass approach to my shed also.
The 25 series was sold here for a very short period in 2017. It didn't sell as well as the 20 series because it had more features, was more expensive, and looked almost identical to the 20 series. Without a knowledgeable sales staff on hand to point out the differences, (which very few Branson...
There is a lot of misinformation out there. I don't think the "2017 models" have any higher number of issues than any other manufacturer, or year. Some folks who have abused their machines (any brand) then take to the internet to blame the equipment for lack of operator skills. Not pointing at...
Here's a pallet I found:
It used to be on that stack of pallets to the right. Wind or thoughtful passer-by tossed it onto the ground. Found that without "magic", too. Made a bunch of noise when I found it though. Bucket went right over that one too.
They're not always that bad. This job was easy:
Just an overgrown lot in town. Just grass, thick at times, but nowhere was it taller than my hood.
Another "easy" one. Just grass, very few objects hidden in the grass, few large rocks but I could see the ground through most of this and could...
I see you still have your sense of humor.
Nothing "magic" here. Just a hard working tractor, earning it's keep:
Can't see the ground due to how thick this is. Too thick to walk through. Also standing taller than my cab, which is 8'. Weeds went to 10'. I'm mowing this as fast as I care to...
I'm very thankful for my cab. Factory heat and A/C means I can be at it any time it's needed. We get both kinds of weather here. Hot and cold.
When it's -40 F, the wind is blowing at 40-50 mph, it's 5 am and the driveway must be opened, well we just call that "Tuesday" up here. That's winters...
It is my understanding that the gear tractors have them, but the hst ones don't.
At least my 25 series hst does NOT have a pre screen.
Is this whine new? Is your suction hose perhaps sucking in a bit of air into the system? Have you changed hydro fluid type or brand? At 250 hrs I wouldn't...
OP,
As was mentioned earlier, you don't have "30 hp" to run a mower. You have 25 hp at best (gear). That is a big difference. I don't think you would be happy running a 6' mower on 25 hp.
For pto powered attachments, it's the "pto hp" rating that matters. Here is TractorData's breakdown of...
You don't get out much.
I know many.
I'm one of them. I have met many throughout my lifetime in just the day to day course of living. I've also met many since the day I started my radiation. That was over a year ago. And I'm in a fairly small town.
Didn't Branson do a recall on the 2400 a couple years before the merger? Wasn't it about changing out the injectors on that engine? If I recall it was emissions related, or they installed the wrong injectors, or something. Heck I may have the wrong model in mind...
I think some folks are confusing the brand name "Husky" somehow with Husqvarna. They are not, and never have been the same. There is a "Husky" brand, that I do believe was made by MTD.
Hogwash.
Your 2013 F-150 has the exact same frame as any other 2013 F-150. Ford did not build any "special" frames for extra-special F-150's. Yours got different brakes, wheels/tires and suspension bolted on. That's it.
My "not special" 2012 F-250 beats your CCC by 1000 pounds. And mine is as...
Since you're asking about riding mowers...
I'm still very happy with my Husqvarna. I bought it at the "evil big box store" (Lowes), 8 years (?) ago. It currently has I think around 250 hrs on it. It has the orange welded "armored" deck, that some folks think you are only able to buy at a Husq...
Do yourself a favor and pressure test your radiator cap and coolant system before diddling around with taking the thermostat out (again).
I find it much less likely that you ran into 2 separate "bad" thermostats in a row. And frankly, it just doesn't match the symptoms you are describing.
I only ever blow out the radiator from the engine side outwards to the front. Never blow from the front side in. If you do that you are blowing chaff deeper into the rows of fins. Blowing it only from the back side forwards forces out through the path of least resistance and you're more likely...
I have a nearly identical setup with my Branson. My engine hp is 37, but my pto hp is 32. Almost an exact duplicate of what you're running. Mine is also "heavy" (4200 lbs bare chassis) and my rear tires are also filled with Rimguard. All that to say, I am also running a 6' brush hog, and our...
If you really want to try running it with no thermostat, then take your "old" thermostat and cut the center out of it and reinstall just the outer ring portion back in the housing. That will give you the same flow rate as a fully opened thermostat that's functioning normally.
Ok, after slogging through your posts, I think the only (rather obvious thing) that I never saw mentioned was your radiator cap.
Has it ever been changed? Has it ever been tested? They can be pressure tested. So can your entire coolant system.
What you have described, with all other things...
OP,
I can't see how taking off the hood would do anything for you at all. Honestly, it makes no sense.
The only reason Gary did it was because his added electric fan wouldn't clear the hood.
Serious question (no I'm not trying to 'diss JD)
Does JD even make those little riders?
I thought they were subbed out by someone else and just painted green?
HD,
That picture of the broken twine finger makes it look like it was made out of cast goose grease, but if they last that long, it must be "premium" cast goose grease.
:ROFLMAO:
"for every 1 Korean tractor, there were 500 JD or Kubota tractors sold"
That is not even close to correct, not anymore anyway.
Neil from Messack's did a Youtube video not too long ago where he let slip a bombshell statistic that between JD and Kubota combined, they only hold 65-75% of the US...
Trip #3 was a success.
New a/c belt is on and tight.
Tractor back in service.
Ning,
My alternator + fan belt is the exact same one you used. Napa XL 25 9415.
The a/c compressor belt is a Napa XL 25 9570.
In case anyone else needs to match one up and doesn't want the chickee poo at the...
The saga continues...
The first set of belts I came home with were much too short. This was after questioning why the girl at the counter was using a metal tape measure instead of the belt measuring tool. Their reply was that the metal tape measure was "much better than the tool".
Ok.
Got...
Pulled my engine belts (2) off today after work (both alternator and a/c belts are shot).
Hopefully the Napa in town can size up a replacement pair tomorrow (nearest dealer is 4 hrs away).
I'm thinking they can, these are just V-belts after all.
I've been of the same opinion as Greg. I've always thought using water would make things worse, but I've never tried it, either.
Looking forward to more info from HD about this when he gets a chance. Maybe I need to change up how I do things.
That was a 5 acre site, and I burned just over 6 gallons of fuel cutting it. Everything was soggy-wet, which actually helped keep the chaff down to a minimum.
Took care of a small mowing job today. This was a site I first did 2 years ago, the one with the "ten foot tall weeds". They called me to come back this year, and also wanted me to schedule them to come twice a season starting next year and just put them on my permanent schedule. This year the...
I would say "no", that is not common.
I tried to look up your model tractor on TractorData.com, and it's not listed as a TYM model?
I can run a 6' brush hog all day in summer (90+ degrees) without overheating. Of course, I am stopping whenever needed (determined by looking at the temp gauge)...
In the US, the 25 series was very short lived. It was supposed to be an upgraded version of the old 20 series. It came with a bigger cab, A/C was standard, came with 2 rear remotes, and came with extendable and adjustable lower link arms on both left and right sides of the 3 pt. I think there...
I don't think I would try any home remedies for that. Sounds like inviting trouble in for a visit.
Maybe talk to a body shop with a frame rack, and see if it's even possible to put the loader on a frame rack to bend it back properly (carefully)? I don't know if they could get it tied down on a...
I haven't found one yet that my 3/4" air powered impact wrench won't take off.
If I do find one, it's torch time. Try just heating it with a rosebud tip first, and then impact wrench. But if that doesn't work, cut it off.
Ran a couple small mowing jobs today. 2 separate vacant lots in a rather upscale neighborhood across town. Each lot was maybe an acre. The one was pretty straight forward, not really any obstacles or hazards. But the other one, was difficult. Lots of hidden (large) rocks, some tricky slopes and...
Gorilla Snot here.
Used it many times on large (long) pulls through buildings and undergrounds.
Messy to be sure, but it got the job done. Only thing worse than getting a "pull" stuck in a pipe, was someone horsing the pull hard enough to break off the pull rope from the end of the cable nose...
Are you just talking about FEL work when you say "dirt work", or are you running something like a tiller (pto driven)?
If it's just FEL work, I'd probably run 1600-1800, which would be enough to run the hydraulic pump enough to get full pressure and lift speed.
Since you don't have any...
I also like the Duluth firehose pants. Their originals wear like cast iron, but feel too much like wearing a burlap sack (itchy and course fabric) for my tastes. I still have my first 2 pairs that I can't wear out, I'm too cheap to throw away, but never really wear them. But the "stretch"...
Jesus Christ.
"This is a Memorial Day tribute to the brave men and women who risk their lives without a second thought,... "
Some of you guys are pathetic.
Moving on. I've got better things to do.
I almost never click on random videos that get posted in forums.
You get some really weird stuff sometimes.
But I did actually read what was posted. Seems like more than a few only watched the video, and didn't bother to read the description.
Too bad the gal didn't get the description correct.
No.
It's not.
So many people get this wrong.
Today is NOT for those who are or have served.
Today is for those that LOST THEIR LIVES while serving this country.
Why can't people get this straight?
I run 6' single spindle on 32 pto hp. Mine is a hydro trans, so I can slow down easily when I need to. Not that I need to very often, usually only when the grass gets very thick, and is over the hood in height. If the grass is not thick, it usually doesn't matter how tall the weeds and brush...
I use 4 sets of chains and binders. One each on each trailer front corner coming back to the front corners of the tractor frame, and 2 sets of chains and binders coming off of the clevis hitch in the draw bar going back to each back corner of the trailer.
I would stop using whatever "source"...
Your filter, the "DPF" has "DOC" inside it. DOC= Diesel Oxidation Catalyst is what is inside the honeycomb screen inside your exhaust filter canister (the "DPF").
Anyway, mine's been sitting on a shelf for the last 5 years, and hasn't given me any problems since I set it there.
I'm sure you're fine using off road diesel in either application. Just because you are occasionally "roading" your tractor on a public street, that does not mean you have to now only use on-road fuel.
I'm using on-road fuel all the time now. Ironically, the only place anywhere near me that...
Put the 3 pt mower on for the first time this season. I had decided last year during my "time out" (medical) that I would do away with the quick hitch entirely when I got back to it. Just more trouble that it's worth, especially when only 2 attachments will fit the quick hitch at all (and both...
If you're going to replace your batteries every 3-4 years, then what does it matter what one you buy. Put the cheapest wally world garbage battery in it and it'll likely last 3 years. Crowing about how great some battery is, and then changing it out anyway in "3-4 years"...
And 40 below zero...
My thought would be if you're going to go up to the 20 series chassis size, 35 engine hp and 29 pto hp will likely not be enough to run the size attachments you'll be looking at in that sized frame. Also, from memory, some of the guys who bought the 3620 have said that it doesn't really have...
My water bottle is the garden hose coiled up at the front corner of the house.
I also have a couple of insulated Igloo water jugs. A 5 gallon and a 10 gallon, that I usually drop a block of ice in and then fill up with the garden hose, to take with when working fields away from home in the...
I can't see how being one quart over on engine oil could make the tractor not start. I don't think that has anything to do with your "no start" problem.
Did you also change the fuel filter? If so, did you reprime the fuel system after changing the filter?
I find the stock work lights on the top corners of my cab to be very useful. Shining down from above in both front and back, makes night mowing or snow work very easy to see. I still use the "headlights" in the grill, especially when using the forks, but all they do is light up the back side of...
As I said previously, I do use a synthetic Amsoil hydro fluid. I'm looking for the operating temp range I need, which dictates a synthetic fluid for my specific use here.
The only down side to using the Amsoil is that I did notice the hydro makes a bit more noise now than it did with whatever...
I would say that it dramatically depends on your specific drain field design, and your specific soil type.
When I asked the septic guy who inspected our system during the home buying process, he started off saying sure thing. Until I told him my tractor weighed 7k lbs, in which he emphatically...
Well I can't say I've looked into it much so far, but I don't believe that's true. At least not the 'anything longer than 22-24' ' part.
Not sure if I'll even be able to swing a new trailer this year, depending on what the mowing season brings, so haven't been in a hurry to check them out...
My opinion, if you ever want to haul it with anything on the 3pt hitch, then 22' is too short.
My next trailer is going to be around a 30-34' deck over gooseneck so I can haul my tractor with the 3pt mower on it, and still have room for a couple of attachments up front. I think fenders taller...
Well, lets see, in no particular order:
Concrete floor for rolling equipment, jacks, etc around, better overhead lighting for doing detail work, and heat and insulation for our winters here. Also need to do shelving down the walls at some point.
Mine is a 40x70 steel building with gravel floor, power and lights, but no heat or insulation.
So it is a shed, and not a "shop" in my opinion.
The one and only time it was empty (just after closing on the house, lol).
Just another day... normally the 5th wheel is parked in there too...
I like the idea of the wooden boxes. Beats what I'm doing with just bags of sand stacked on a pallet. They always seem to fall off the pallet into the truck bed over the winter, and have to be hand stacked back on the pallet again.
I would describe the motion to put the FEL in float as, a short, quick stab forward with the joystick control.
You'll get the feel for it after you do it a couple of times.
Well my replacement certainly can't be called "affordable", but I need(ed) a battery that can tolerate our -40 F (ambient) winters here. I bought an Optima red top battery the very first winter I had my tractor. The first time the ambient air temp hit -30 F, the OEM Interstate battery died stone...
Pulled my 3 pt snow blower off for the year on Saturday and put the box blade on. Then used the box blade to repair my torn up driveway from this year's thaw and mud event. Had to wait until it all dried out so I could fix more ruts than I was making. Of course, it started raining last night...
I have to do all the gutting and skinning. Doesn't bother me to do it. Once the animal has been turned into "just meat" (skinned and quartered), she's fine with cutting the quarters into roasts or steaks or cutting up stew meat. But she won't help while it's still "whole", with the head on and...
It will only be loud the first time you do it.
:)
When we bought our current place, I made sure to order a 10' gate be put in when the fencing contractor put in our fully enclosed backyard fence.
I had a 3 prong spear at my last house. It had one main spear and two smaller spears to act as keepers (for lack of better term) to keep the bale from spinning on the main.
I could move large round bales no problem, but obviously it wouldn't move pallets. Curiously, I ended up (and still do)...
I did the muffler mod. Apologize for not posting the link before, but when you said you "read all the posts", I assume you meant this one as well:
Exhaust Mod on my 3725
I just have a cheap "homeowner grade" splitter myself. It will go vertical or horizontal, but I've never tried it in the vertical mode. Like others have said, I need to work while standing and not bending over and wrestling rounds on the ground to split. Picking a round up off the ground to set...
Time for the Ultimate Solution, in my opinion.
If I'd have known how great it was, I wouldn't have waited near as long to do the mod.
And performance of your tractor has probably fallen off so gradually that you haven't really noticed it. I was surprised by the sudden power increase after mine...
For me it seems to be caulking guns.
I use them so infrequently, I must have bought 10-12 of them over the years. Last time we moved, I think I found 3 or 4 of them.
Finally got around to recaulking a shower fixture yesterday and I actually found 2 of them sitting side by side on a shelf in...
Dear Lord, why would you want that?
Give up that peace and quiet?
:ROFLMAO:
How hard would it be to run a conduit underground from point A to point B?
And my cell phone works in my metal shop building, no problem.
That sounds light to me. You may want to weigh it yourself on an actual CAT scale once you get it.
Mine weighs 7100 lbs with a 6' box blade on the 3 pt hitch (my rear tires are also filled with Rim Guard). I believe your frame is larger than my 25 series.
What size is your snowblower? You only have 38 pto hp, and your 3pt hitch is only rated for 2850 lbs, according to TractorData.com
I run a 6' snowblower on 32 pto hp with no problems at all.
That BX you're looking at has less than half the hp, 17 pto hp, and a 3 pt lift rating of 680 lbs.
If...
I change mine solely based on hours of run time. Run the same oil in it year 'round. A synthetic oil with a temp range to meet our temp extremes from winter to summer. I also use my tractor year 'round.
No, I am not missing THE POINT. Sigh. I'm totally agreeing with your opinion that you are better served with an open station.
I have no idea why you are so worked up over this. ONE GUY, (not me), in post #4, said some guys that he personally knows said .... whatever.
That's not "all of us cab...
This is absolutely incorrect.
It has nothing at all to do with "cab guys not understanding open station guys".
You don't want a cab? Got it. We all GET THAT. No one is trying to change your mind. Ok? Take a breath or something and party on, tractor dude.
Some of us live in weather areas that...
I do much work on snow and ice. Every year (except this one, lol).
I've never damaged or "smashed" anything.
I've been in and out and in between tree rows. Many times. Many random fields.
I've never damaged or "smashed" anything.
I'm using this:
https://www.amsoil.com/p/amsoil-5w-30-100-synthetic-tractor-hydraulic-transmission-oil-ath/?code=ATH05-EA
But I'm thinking I have a much wider temperature range I have to operate under than you do. For me the choice required going full synthetic with temps from -45F to +100F in...
I'm very thankful for my cab, with both a/c and heat. We get pretty extreme cold temps (most) in winters, but it also gets hot in summer. We are blessed with an expected operating range of -45F in winter (no windchill b.s.) and also +100F in summer (that's true ambient air temps, none of this...
Just for me, I won't/can't do ANY excavation work. Nor do I want to. The additional insurance premium for even whispering the word "excavation" is BRISK.
So no excavator or backhoe in my future. At least not for hire/pay.
My Branson 25 series weighs 7100 lbs and you're right, weight is a factor for traveling over lawns, doing "homeowner" stuff, etc. Right now our frost is out of the ground and everything is soft and soggy. If I were to drive mine across my lawn in these conditions I would make one heck of a mess...
Every once in a while Youtube does an update to try and stop all the ad blocking apps from blocking their barrage of garbage. It usually lasts for a few days, into a few weeks, and then at least AB+ will do an update to fix it again. I've had Youtube ping my blocker 3 or 4 different times now...
Agree on the bathroom access, needs to be from the shop floor, not the office. I would also add a large shop sink with a foot activated valve to the wall right next to the bathroom door for washing hands and parts.
I would move the left side (as per the picture orientation) roll up door AND the...
I was at $80 an acre for mowing pastures, corrals and road ditches with my 6' rotary mower. I did have a $100 minimum, in case a guy just had a vacant lot that needed weeds knocked down. Held that price for a couple years. I also had a 50 mile maximum travel distance that I would take. Last year...
How big are the round bales?
This is a 6' bale, and my tractor has all the weight it wants on it. This is with rear tires filled with rim guard, and a bit too light weight of a box blade on it:
It was too light in the @zz, needed a few hundred more pounds of weight on the 3 pt hitch. I got...
Swap the pto shaft?
Does the stub shaft coming out of your pto drive not stick out far enough to clear the coupler latch on the end of the blower's pto shaft?
I'd just look at a replacement pto shaft from local (tractor supply, etc) and swap it to a coupler that works on your tractor.
Heck if you cut those in half, I'm thinking your current Kioti could drag those all over heck and back (one at a time, of course).
Certainly wouldn't be a problem with the 474 or similar sized chassis.
I do the same with mine. After the second time losing the retaining pin underneath, I realized that the adjustment pin fits in the hole in the arm snug enough that it will not rattle out. I've never had the pin pop out of it's position hole and it's been like that (with no retaining pin...
Unless these downed trees are absolute monsters, I don't think you'll have any issues at all pulling the logs out with a 474 sized chassis.
I think traction will be you're limiting factor here, not tractor chassis size.
I've pulled some pretty hard pulls with my 25 series, 4200 lb bare...
Ok, I don't have an open station myself, but looking at your pic, isn't one of those pins on each side the latching pin and the other pin on each side the "pivot" pin?
"... and some folks just have to pee on the electric fence for themselves..."
It's going to have to be dug up, cut, spliced and rerouted through a new trench.
How much spare money do you have?
It will certainly "get some action".
From working at a telecom myself, you would be hip deep in a lot of (expensive) trouble.
If they pushed it, they can come after you for any and all "downtime" related to the outage that you caused. Including costs of all associated repairs.
My advice would...
The new models are 4 speed hydros I believe.
So not the same transmission as our 25 series. Mine also can be balky to change ranges, especially when cold. Also can't change ranges when the parking brake is on. Sometimes I just "nudge" the motion pedal either forward or reverse, and then the...
They are, yes. I've been in many fields where garbage, old fence and random car frames were left laying out in the tall grass. Only to drive over them and hear the racket of the mower blades "finding" them. Never had a puncture (knock on wood).
My experience with R4's on my own tractor are similar to CH's. If it's sloppy muddy out, you're begging for trouble no matter what tire you run. If it's just soft dirt, I've never had any issues with traction. Most of the time I don't need 4wd either, unless it's steep as well. I would certainly...
Are you saying that California has banned the ownership of older equipment entirely? Like going yard to yard and confiscating trucks, tractors and excavators, etc?
Or just banned the sales of new equipment in those categories?
Those are drastically different things.
My advice would be to pass up that trailer.
I can't be sure how much it would weigh, but I can assure you it will be much more than 2000 lbs.
I have an 18' car trailer with a wood deck, and it weighs 1900 lbs. With a steel deck that's at least thicker than tissue paper, you can expect at least...
It was 48 F yesterday for a high and it's supposed to hit 50 F today. Crazy winter. Snow still in shady areas but most of my lawn is bare. Walked down to get my mail yesterday and the bare parts of my driveway are soft, so frost is already coming out of the ground. We should still be in the...
I have pushed (can't really call it "plowing" when using a bucket) snow with my bucket and bare edge on pavement when helping friends deal with heavy snows. I always tell them it's possible that it will leave scratches on the surface (they've never minded when dealing with several feet of snow...
That looks like a horrible setup to me. Edge is too thick, and with all that framis (crap) sitting in the bucket bottom, looks like a pain to actually dump the bucket clear.
But that's just from looking at the picture.
Do you have one of these? Does it actually work better than my assumptions...
It has nothing to do with your operating system (windows 8/10/11, etc), and has everything to do with your internet browser (chrome, firefox, edge, etc.)
The most likely culprit is that Muhammad has to put another quarter in the slot on the side of the server.
If you just use cheap masonry bits, they will just snap the ears off the tip, likely in the first hole you drill.
I have both a cordless Dewalt "hammer" drill, and a dedicated Bosch SDS hammer drill. No comparison at all. The Dewalt is like a toy drill that makes the "hammer sound" and does...
Are your rear wheels set out all the way now? They can have 4 different spacings set up on the rear wheels. Center hub offset "in" + outer rim offset "in", center hub offset "out" +outer rim offset "in", center hub offset "in" + outer rim offset "out", and center hub offset "out" + outer rim...
They don't. It was supposed to be an "upscale" version of the model 20, but it was short lived. Branson used to use a different cab on the older model 20. When they brought out the 25 series, it had a bigger cab, came stock with a/c (it was optional on the original 20 series cab), came with 2...
The one in my profile. It's a 3725 CH (cabbed hydro).
The bare chassis weight is 4200 lbs, by the time you add a FEL, standard bucket, fill the rear tires with Rimguard, and a 6' box blade on the 3 pt hitch, it weighs 7100 lbs.
I have ballast (Rimguard) in my rear tires, and I always have something on the 3 pt hitch as well. I do various odd loader work and randomly have to lift objects from the "not very heavy" class, all the way up to the "nope, can't lift this one" class. Currently the heaviest 3 pt attachment I...
Dog stories...
Could have so many. Wife and I have rescued labs since the mid 90's. I'll try not to hog up the thread.
With the exception of one Aussie I found as a newborn that was dumped way out in the desert with the rest of his litter mates. Found him while quail hunting when we still...
I would take a hard look at the 5520 if I were looking for a 50hp unit.
Up here we go with cabs due to the weather. I like the 4 speed hydro. If I was buying today, it would be a cabbed 5520 CH (cabbed hydro) with 2 rear remotes and a 3rd function.
The "sawzall option" will MAKE IT a pre Tier ANYTHING tractor.
That is the point.
And you'll never have to deal with it again. Ever.
It's almost 5 years since I did mine. Zero issues since. Zero.
Exhaust Mod on my 3725
Best way to find a weak battery is to get it good and cold. The Optima battery in Mrs. Slim's Toyota 4Runner finally gave up the ghost after 12 years of reliable service. Just replaced it Saturday, with another Optima red top. The Optima in my tractor is 7 years old and still going. Started it...
We've had several days of high winds in a row. It took the scant little bit of snow we had and filled in our driveway in a nice drift. First time I've used the tractor in probably 3 months now. Cleared it with the blower and the bucket in just a few minutes. Figured I had to do something, since...
What is "Fear of Wife"?
If Mrs Slim sees a snake, it's all over for Mr. Snake. No discussions or committees will be convened.
Me: "Sorry ol' Mr. Snake, ol' buddy, ol' pal, but..." BLAM. 12 ga works just fine on them.
Hasn't been an issue since we moved up from AZ.
Can't answer the question on "how many wires", without knowing things like (a shop manual with a schematic would be "gold" here):
Single field or double field alternator
Internally or externally regulated
Have the battery load tested first, if the battery tests good, then take the alternator...
I think it actually comes down to where you are in the world.
Winter finally found us, yesterday, the high and the low were both -22 F, and we had a steady blowing wind. We're supposed to have high blowing winds until Monday. Even in full bibs, boots, heavy gloves and parka, not "fun" to be...
Or, you could sell firewood by the tote, and take a deposit for the tote when dropping off full ones. Then swap out with the next full tote when they buy next year, or if they don't, tell them you'll return their deposit when they return the tote. Make the deposit enough to pay for the tote if...
I would say "Option 3"
Having a GOOD dealer nearby. Just because a tractor has a certain color paint on it, does NOT mean the dealer is any good.
When I was tractor shopping, both the Kubota and the Deere dealers nearest me were complete garbage. I wouldn't go back and have dealings with...
I doubt very much there could have been any damage due to over filling. It was more likely a setup issue when they were getting it setup at the dealer. Could have been as simple as the 3pt lift valve was backed off all the way? Unless I'm missing something, the reservoir tank for the hydraulic...
For my area, there's still a couple old guys working at the local Napa store that know how to look up generic parts out of books (not just a computer with "make, model, year").
That's probably where I would start if it was me, the local Napa store.
I have cut stuff with my light duty 6' cutter that would horrify some folks. Lol. (It's taken more of a beating from hidden rocks and objects "forgotten" in the tall grass than from size of materials cut). So I get what you're saying. But specifically with the Rhino Ag, since you've had a chance...
I'm surprised the Rhino Ag is only rated for 1.5" of cut. But, you're correct, that is what they spec it for.
I've watched several Tractor Time with Tim videos with the 10' version (same hardware, just narrower) and he'd cut 3"-4" stuff on a regular basis. I think he cut one over 5" in one...
I agree. Even if I had a tractor big enough to lift it, I wouldn't want to. That's way too much to be hanging from a 3 pt, both in total weight and center of weight being so far back from the hitch.
To the OP,
I would have been much less worried about the smoke on cold start up, but that's just me. As long as it clears up as the engine warms up, it's fine.
I'm very surprised you don't have a block heater installed by your dealer on EVERY tractor that goes out his door, based on your...
I would also say ignore the brands and go with the dealer. Is there any reason you're fixated on ONLY Kubota or Mahindra? Aren't there ANY other tractor dealers in your area? LS? New Holland? TYM?
I shutdown Kubota as a possible purchase in my area because the local dealer was garbage. Not...
I was under the impression from reading the description on the website that the hydraulic ram was for additional downforce only.
From the product description:
Hydraulic cylinder assist to drive the auger into harder ground; oversized 3-point hitch A-frame with additional reinforcement
