JD 2350 3-pt not going all the way down

Ok guys, can anyone help me with this issue. My 3-pt on my 2350 has been working fine. I’ve been using a box blade to repair some lanes on the farm and suddenly the arms were first stuck all the way up and would only go down when the motor was turned off. As soon as I started it the lift arms...

    What if....?

I’d recommend you keep it unless you can’t afford it or are not comfortable operating it safely. With 40 acres, you will need a tractor. I have less than 25 acres and put around 100 hrs a year on mine. Renting one or hiring work done is always a real pain and you will seldom get things done on...

    Storing chains

I zip-tied a piece of dense foam on the top cross member between the loader arms and wrap two different size chains over the foam. Works pretty well for me.

    No steering joint boot available.

I wrapped mine with black stretch tape and then over wrapped it with electrical tape. It’s been holding for almost two years now. Did have to re-wrap once but otherwise it’s been a good inexpensive fix for me.

Frequency for slipping a clutch a rotary cutter, tiller, etc.

Ok. Thanks guys. Sounds like it’s an annual event Ok, I went on YouTube and found a bunch of videos about slipping a slip clutch on equipment. No pry bars used.

Frequency for slipping a clutch a rotary cutter, tiller, etc.

Just wondering how often you guys slip the clutch on your equipment. Is this an annual necessity or is it ok to go longer

What additives do you use in your fuel and engines?

One of my brothers is a mechanical engineer For GM. He recommended I use Stanadyne Performance Formula so i add it to the 300 gal storage tank whenever I add fuel to it. So far i’ve never had any fuel issues summer or winter.

Will my tractor damage neighbor’s rototiller?

He doesn’t have a lot of experience with tractors. His is a small 1025r. No shifting. Mine is a full size utility tractor 8 fwd and 4 rev. Gears, 4x4 with a loader w/6’ bucket (cat 2). It is an 8500 lb beast that can do a lot of damage if not operated properly. I’d be afraid he’d hurt himself on...

Will my tractor damage neighbor’s rototiller?

He already tilled a good size vegetable garden so I didn't want to ask him to till my land. He offered it up. I‘M just gonna tell him it’s not a good match for my Tractor. That I might damage it, and get my own next year

Will my tractor damage neighbor’s rototiller?

I hear ya. I hate borrowing anything I can’t afford to replace if damaged. I didn’t ask to use it. It was offered up and I didn't want to make him feel like his was not enough unit for my tractor. I already told him it wasn’t a good match for my tractor. I’ll disc instead this year.

Will my tractor damage neighbor’s rototiller?

Ok thanks a lot. I kinda figured I could hurt his new tiller but I thought maybe it wasn’t that big a deal since at least one of the areas has been tilled before but not in several years. Better safe than sorry though. I had been saving up for a 6ft tiller but when he offered his I guess I...

Will my tractor damage neighbor’s rototiller?

Thanks. It’s been tilled before but with a hand tiller and it was a lot to do in my late 60’s

Will my tractor damage neighbor’s rototiller?

I guess because he didn’t offer to do it for me. Just that I could borrow his tiller. I told him it might be too small but I guess he doesn’t think so. I’ve done many favors for the family in the past and I think he just feels like he owes me but I don’t help friends or neighbors expecting...

Will my tractor damage neighbor’s rototiller?

Hi everyone. I have a fairly large JD utility tractor - 65hp with 55hp at the PTO. I need to rototill two areas that are each 1/2 to 3/4 ac. My neighbor offered me use of his new 4’ rototiller that he bought with a new JD 1025R, so pretty small. I’m just wondering if it would damage his...

    Stuck PTO shaft

I had the same problem with a rotary cutter shaft. I sprayed the heck out of it with PB Blaster and was able to pull it apart with the tractor. I then cleaned both ends by soaking the in degreasing solvent, dried everything and completely coated the male end with anti-cease and haven’t had any...

    TC-25D Won't Crank - I Need Some Help Please

I don’t have a lot of experience with tractor maintenance, but I was experiencing similar problems with a JD tractor. I had the starter rebuilt - not the answer. I replaced the solenoid - not the answer. I replaced the batteries (x2)- still not the answer. I replaced the stater switch (least...

Saplings and brush around pond banks. Suggestions?

It took a lot of work but I used a stihl 131 Combi-system with Australian brush cutter blades (Best I’ve ever found) and I zipped right thru all the brush and saplings around my pond as my wife followed with some 2-4D and a paint brush. She brushed the 2-4D On all the freshly cut saplings and...

Mowing in reverse with SCUT and MMM

The button won’t stop the blades from turning. You only push it briefly to back up. If you don’t, it will stop the pto and you have to re-start the blades. Yeah, it can be a pain. You do eventually get used to it and it becomes second nature but kind of frustrating. Some guys disable it but not...

If you don't want to get a tank and pump (diesel fuel lasts a very long time) maybe you should consider a shaker hose. It’ll transfer by syphon.

UPDATE: In case this happens to someone else. It was the wire to the solenoid. A friend helped me find the problem and fixed it free of charge. Thank you to all of you that commented on my post and helped me know where to start. MFWD now working fine! 👍👍

Ahh, I get what you mean. Thank you. I tried that this morning but it made no difference. Tried running in reverse for a distance, slamming on the brakes etc. to no avail. All the possible simple fixes. Now I’ll need to start checking wiring, the relay (although I don’t know where it is yet) and...

    Can Hours Be Rolled Back?

You can check where the tractor has been serviced in the past. Dealers usually keep track of the hours the unit has whenever it goes in for any service. So you’d at least know what was on it the last time it was in for any kind of service. Just a thought.

Thank you all so much! I will try to buy a manual, but will also try to back up and hit the brakes to see if it will un-bind. If that doesn’t do it, do you think it would be wise to try to find the relay that activates the solenoid and replace it and or the solenoid?

I have a JD 2350 Utility Tractor with a 245 loader. This doesn’t seem to be a very common tractor but IMO it should be. It’s a 8,500 # beast with a 65hp 4cyl. diesel and a real workhorse. To shift in and out of four-wheel drive I use an electric rocker switch. It’s been working fine all along...

Zero turn thoughts on common models

Probably not what you wanna hear since it sounds like you’re pretty well set on a zero turn. IMO you will not shave two or maybe not even one hour off by going to a zero turn. The amount you do shave off will not be worth the amount of comfort you will be giving up. I’ve used both XMark and JD...

    Ethanol free gas?

No they don’t call for 91 octane. They call for regular 87 And then the dealers will recommend other expensive additives to counteract the ethanol and at the same time boosting the octane. 🤷🏻

    Hesitant about the brand

Why not get a machine you just plan to keep for a really long time and use it the rest of your life. I have a 1986 full size JD Utility Tractor, 4x4 That has around 6200 hrs on it. Has no leaks, everything works as it was designed to and is far more tractor than most new ones I see. Mine weighs...

Filling a Hundred Holes (6-feet across, 4-feet deep)

You cannot make dirt to replace dirt that has been removed by digging the surrounding areas. An excavator or backhoe won’t be much help unless gou already have one. I think your best bet is to use the dirt from the trenches you plan to dig and use a dump trailer and your existing FEL to donthe job.

3-Point Hitch  Can you pull a 7’x12’ dump trailer with a 3pt trailer hitch receiver?

Wondering if anyone has ever pulled and dumped a dump trailer using a 3pt hitch receiver. The jack on the trailer doesn’t go up far enough for me to pull the trailer with the tractor’s...

    Summer Diesel in Winter

    Loader  Checking hydraulic oil

Hi, wondered if someone knows this. My JD Owner’s Manual states, among other things, that the draft links should be extended when checking and filling the hydraulic fluid. JD-2350 farm utility tractor 3-pt drop rate

Hi, so I’m fairly new to tractors and have a question for you folks. Not too sure on terminology, but there is a turn-type lever under the seat that I guess regulates the rate of drop for 3- pt. Implements. With a 6’ box-blade, the rate of drop is very slow on mine, which causes problems when...

How do you replace the push pin assembly on a PTO SHAFT YOKE

It’s me again. I lost the push pin assembly that locks the pto shaft yoke to the tractor. I think that’s what it’s called, but it’s that little spring-loaded button you push to install and remove the pto shaft from the tractor. Went to TSC can’t figure out how those come apart to be replaced...

    What is this implement?

This question is most likely for some of the more “seasoned” farmers out here. For a while I’ve been trying to gather up some scrap metal for some equipt. reinforcement and what not and I found this in middle of my woods.. This thing has a lot of solid steel parts that I could cut up and use...

3-Point Hitch  John Deere 2350 No stabilizer arms on lift arms

Hi folks, I’m new to bigger tractors, only had/have a 1948 Ford 8N. Last year I bought a JD 2350 (65hp diesel, 55hp at PTO) with a 245 loader. It has no stabilizers for the lift arms. Question about airing up loaded tires

John Deere 2350 MFWD w/245 JD Loader

Hello from southern Michigan I'm new to this forum and new to farming. 18 yrs ago I bought a small 23 acre farm with the hope of farming it once I retired.
