FEL whacking things when backing up.

I was sick with a cold or somesuch and backing up a trailer in one of our horse aisles. Nailed a water line. Added an extra hour of work to a hot day.

    Needed bigger FEL

I made my own for mucking stalls - granted we clean out stalls into muck buckets then dump them in this bucket on the tractor, as well as the rear dumping carry all. It's constructed from steel fencing, a blank SSQA plate, some scrap steel, and clad with rubber conveyer belt thrown away from a...

Quick Hitch Compatible Carry All Frame

The tractor supply one comes in at least two flavors that I've seen. I had to cut into mine quite a bit to get it to work. The top link on mine wasn't down nearly as far as the one currently posted on their website. Consequently I had to use the QH hook in a different position from my other QH...

Bent SSQA plates/hands - what are my options?

Update - it's good again, at least, good enough. The geometry and available holes made chaining or blocking difficult but while looking around for chain/blocks I noticed my fairly sturdy 40ft cargo container that is probably better to push on than a eucalyptus tree. I threw it into 4wd/low and...

Bent SSQA plates/hands - what are my options?

Thank you all for your advice. I agree that the crosstube is likely bent. I will try something like has been recommended and block it off or chain it up and see if I can use the hydraulics to bend it back. Could try pushing on a tree but we mostly have eucalyptus here and they fall over if you...

Bent SSQA plates/hands - what are my options?

One of my employees says she noticed the front bucket wasn't hanging right - no idea how much work had been done with the bucket hanging on the left side of the SSQA only. It bent the plate downwards. I can still muscle attachments on but it is no longer anything resembling "quick" attachment"...

Who Has The Cheapest Rear Quick Hitch?!

Harbor Freight is cheapest but you have to take into account you WILL want to get a new top hook as the stock one doesn't stick out far enough ($40-50) and everything is size for Category 3 so bushings for all your implements (~$10 per implement at tractor supply).

L2501 3pt at full height uses power, won't allow loader to move up and down well

Five year old L2501 works fine in every other respect but when the 3pt is at full height (or within ~5% on the lever) the tractor is clearly trying to still move the arms even though it can't. This of course causes a lack of go power and makes the loader bucket up/down movements very slow...

Interesting idea. Do you think if I got a set of these to bolt onto the ROPS it could serve as a wheelie bar? https://smile.amazon.com/Torin-ATR39001B-Swing-Back-Trailer-Capacity/dp/B08KTRGXD5/

    Harbor freight quick hitch

I've got an L2501 with one. A new top hook made things easier. Also with the way my 3pt is adjusted for maximum swing, if the top link arm is adjusted most of the way inwards and I pull the 3pt all the way up it will make contact with and break my rear turn signals/lights. Fair warning...

    L2501 and quick hitch question

I have an L2501, the HF quick hitch, and a 5' Brush Hog that was left on my property when we bought it. No go with the quick hitch - it adds 4" and the shaft falls out. Not all the time, not every time, but I only use it about twice a year and it's easier just to take off the quick hitch for the...

Some one wanted to know if we'd buy an EV tractor

Absolutely. We're nowhere there yet for big machines but it should be relatively simple for something in the compact/subcompact range. Tractor manufacturers aren't exactly known to be cutting edge though so it will be a while. Bobcat already makes an electric skid steer. I've got an electric...

    Flux Core Amps vs thickness

I had the cheapo HF Chicago Electric flux core for a while. I have a 30 amp RV hookup in my yard and you could tell - it used it when needed. Plugging it into a house outlet wasn't nearly the same.

Anyone break a Harbor Freight Quick Hitch?

I probably overload mine everyday. I have a homemade dumping carryall used for manure. During the winter months a couple of times my employees overloaded it so much the 3pt couldn't lift it (L2501 should be good for 1800ish lbs?) and had to shovel some out to move the tractor. Never had a...

Testing out new Dump Bed on Mule 2510

We have the 400cc mule, only hard to hand dump if the manure is soaked from rain or we fill it with DG or sand, which is rare since we have the tractor for those tasks 99% of the time.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Generation#Social_generation Definitions change with time. Shared experiences are probably more important to splitting the gens. Adding front bucket extension for more capacity?

I needed a bigger bucket for hand loading manure, ended up with this made out of scrap steel fence. It's clad it quarry conveyor belt rubber as it doesn't corrode like steel will. It was easier to build this onto a quick attach blank than make something to fit onto the existing bucket.

    Manure Box size

I made something similar for my Kubota L2501, it only has about a 1K capacity though. It's made of some fence panels creatively welded into a basket clad with quarry rubber belting. It's about 58x40 inches at the base. It probably holds about 697653,697652 On the back is something closer to...

I love my L2501 - it's been a tank and seems to hit a sweet spot of capability and price. Our 5 year payments will be done in another 10 months and the wife and I are trying to figure out what kind of equipment to get it for a playmate. We have a Kawasaki Mule and an electric golf cart. I...

    L2501 I love it BUT

I too love my L2501 but am approaching paying it off in a year or so. Anyone who has used both an L2501 and an L4701? Removing / unscrewing a broken off pvc male adaptor

I have this problem regularly for our horse waterers, although it's 1/2 inch pvc. I ream it with a stepped drill bit until the PVC is super thin, usually comes right out by then. I've also sawn notches in the pvc at 180 degrees from the other then stick a knife or other tool in and turn by hand...

    Harbor Freight Quick Hitch Discontinued?

I have an unsubstantiated theory - it's not actually on clearance. The cashier said mine was on clearance when I bought it a year ago. No purple tag. The website says clearance - no discounted price. My bet is that their database system simply sees the word "clearance" in the name and marks it...

    Towing Capacity of L2501

I pulled my dump trailer (2200 lbs) with about 3-4 yards of a sandy dirt mixture (8-10k?) with my L2501. 2 or 3 trips, 1/2 mile across my property with a few hills. I was in low/4wd the whole time of course and while I might do it again in a pinch my truck is now a better option. I was using a...

Should curl cylinders bleed off with tractor running?

Mine definitely does, for example carrying a bucket of material from one side of the property to the other, I usually "choke up" once or twice on the way to avoid losing material.

    Home-made attachments...

For mucking horse stalls we need to move about 5-6 yards of material from one end of the property to the other daily (about 1/2 a mile). I made an FEL basket/bucket clad with rubber conveyor belting remnants from a local quarry. We load via muck buckets or wheelbarrows so it doesnt have to...

    Shape/materials for a hand-loaded, non-scooping FEL "bucket"?

Would have been a good idea but: 1. The u bolt threads would stick up quite a bit potentially 2. Shape/materials for a hand-loaded, non-scooping FEL "bucket"?

Thin steel will corrode quite quickly with manure - our wheelbarrows rarely last more than a year. I have an abundance of rubber belting from a nearby quarry that we use for stall mats and barn flooring. It's a bit over 3/8" thick and quite heavy but won't ever wear out for our purpose. I...

Thank you all for your responses. I wanted to get away from the forks both for weight reasons (350 lbs just for the forks, then have to add whatever box) and so that I could keep them free for other tasks. Here's a picture I took a few days ago, I'm further along now. Found a bunch of metal...

Kit outbuildings for your vehicle storage

Got this 36x48 from Gator Carports (it was about 2k cheaper when we ordered it last Fall), it's made as a mare motel but was the right size for our hay and vehicle shelter - we just specced the posts a bit taller to have adequate clearance for the hay squeeze. Cattle guards - make or buy

I know because I've unloaded items over capacity - sometimes you just need to put enough upwards pressure with the FEL that you can slide it off the flatbed truck. Shape/materials for a hand-loaded, non-scooping FEL "bucket"?

I'd like to build a metal version of the picture attached, but with a SSQA blank I already have, and preferably with scraps of metal I have on hand if possible. There's a 5'x4' metal mesh trailer ramp someone left on my property a year back that might be suitable for the floor, for example. The...

Input on a high volume, low weight hauling need.

I have a horse boarding business with about 80 stalls that get cleaned daily. At the end of the day they would tractor it down to the manure...

Small puncture, slow leak in front R4

Woke up to a flat tire the other day, traced it down to a puncture in the sidewall. Pretty much the worst place possible. Am I humped? Any fixes that would last? It's pretty tiny, only loses air (bubbles w soapy water) when flexing. Lost about 2 psi over a days work. Its a 2 year old Kubota...

What to do with extra galvanized steel pipe/rail?

My wife and I took over a horse boarding facility a few years back. The previous owners left a lot of junk that we've been slowly cleaning up. Some of that included unserviceable (too corroded etc) corral panels - 24 feet long by about 5 feet tall. Ranges from 1 7/8 to 2 3/8 thick. I've been...
