Manure Box size

I need a bit of help, I saw a neat deal up in Idaho at the horse park a while ago and I am thinking of building myself one. The horse show grounds had basically a box, on one side was a ramp and the other side was skid steer quicktach. this way you could wheel barrow manure into then the show grounds would come dump it a couple of times per day. I would like to build some of these for my ranch, I just dont know how big to make them, I would love to hear some thoughts, I have a john deere 4066r that can life a bit more than 2500 lbs, what does that equate to in wet horse manure? any ideas on volume?

Manure is typically measured by the bushel for spreaders, figured there’d be data on the Google box but I don’t see it by the bushel. One site says a cubic yard of wet manure weighs 650# but that sounds light to me, but a cubic yard is a lot of manure and probably a good manageable size.

I made something similar for my Kubota L2501, it only has about a 1K capacity though. It's made of some fence panels creatively welded into a basket clad with quarry rubber belting. It's about 58x40 inches at the base. It probably holds about

On the back is something closer to your weight class - a 3pt dumping box. It's 3ft x 6ft x 20 in (~1 cubic yard) but has a door for the fourth side. My L2501 has no problem picking it up when full UNLESS it has rained a ton, then we need to mind how much we fill it up. I'm in SoCal so rain is less common here. My capacity should be around 1900 lbs.

Long story short - you should probably aim for a little over a yard.

In terms of horses they put out about 50 lbs of manure per day but it can vary based on waste hay, bedding, etc.
