What do you folks think about this coming Winter?

Well TnAndy, I stole your shelf design. And proved if you can over build something, I'll do it. This shows one of the shelves half slid out. Now all I have to do is build more shelves.

Touch Up Express Paint - Any experience with it?

I need to get a rattle can worth of touch up paint for my truck and came across "Touch Up Express" paint. They have the right color code and everything about the product looks right, but am not finding much for reviews out there on them. Has anyone used this stuff? Good, bad, otherwise? The...

    Good morning!!!!

Kind of funny, every morning I sit with my coffee and catch up on TBN, with this thread included, and think about the other dozen or so people doing the same thing. We might as well be in the local diner sitting around the locals round table. :) Good to see you all staying in touch the way you...

Our AC stopped working....and then the fun begins

So, we moved into our current home a year ago after finally escaping the city and getting back to where I grew up. The previous owners of our home were citidiots who used it as a weekend home. They clearly a) didn't care for it as a full time home b)when something did need maintenance they...

National Trappers Association Convention and Outdoor Show

Any heading to the National Trappers Convention in Escanaba MI this coming weekend? If you watch the Mountain Men TV show, Marty Meierotto from Alaska will be at the show which I'm sure will draw a few folks. He's the best part of that show.

    Chemical vs water fire extinguishers

I have a chemical one on the tractor, but a water one makes good sense while out in our woods. Will have to look into how to mount one as out of the way as my current one.

    Small tractors doing big work.

My kubota l3301 has been fantastic. Does way more than it should. This picture doesn't do it justice but it has cleared a bunch of trees (pushed them over) to allow for better use of the land. Snow moving for a 1/4 mile is a breeze along with shortening days off of my firewood cutting chore...

Tractors and wood! Show your pics

Here's the cheap and simple guide I put on my forks for firewood cutting. It has lines spaced for the length I want. Hangs on with a couple modified L brackets so it is easy on and off. Used is a lot over the past few days and it is working great...worth the $10 for sure.

Fumbling around in the dark to find your gun and magazine is no darned good. :(

We have coons come to the bird feeders at night once in a while. They steal the food of course but haven't done any real damage ever. The other night I was on our screened in deck enjoying the quiet of the night (15 feet or so from the bird feeders) and heard them come through the woods and in...

    New Deere E150 lawn tractor

My junky old lawn tractor (a three person hand-me-down) that I use for mowing around the house stopped in the middle of the yard yesterday. It seems like I spend more time working on the dang thing than using it so it wasn't a big shock. I had been doing some casual research on new ones but...

    Good morning!!!!

Good happy Sunday morning everyone. Getting my act together slowly for the drive to the airport. I told me wife that no matter the story, I have not given anyone permission to borrow the tractor. She said she would protect it like it was one of our children. :) I'm going to have to try a tac...

    Good morning!!!!

LOL. I saw my wife putting something in my carry on and asked her what she was up to (you never know when your wife might want you jacked up by the TSA). Good morning!!!!

Evening everyone. I am catching a flight out west tomorrow and all the flu talk here and in the news is making me crazy. Good morning!!!!

Just got done plowing the drive and moving some piles around. My wife thinks I'm out "playing" with the tractor. Thanks! I'm going to start looking for some this weekend. I haven't had a good Cuban cigar in a couple years, so I might just make a field trip out of this and take the short trip across the border and get some chains while I'm there if I can find some. :)

Good happy Friday everyone! -3 here this morning with 3-4 inches of new snow yesterday. Got the tractor out yesterday to clear away the snow. I debated doing it at all being with the warm up a couple weeks ago, there is ice under the snow and was hoping the new snow would give some traction...

    Good morning!!!!

Good Happy Wednesday everyone! Cold and snowy sums up the weather here. I think this weekend I'll put the forks on the tractor and start seeing how they will work for grabbing logs off the pile and cutting down to size. Just an excuse to play with the tractor some. :) Have a fantastic day!

    Firewood and tarps and bugs

As I said earlier in the thread, for 8' harvested logs I just keep them in a pile with a tarp as they might sit there a year or two. For the wood that is cut and split, it gets stacked in a woodshed. It is big enough to have at least 30% more than I need for the hardest winter I have had it...

Thanks. If you look close enough you can see pin-stripping from being in the woods for sure...but luckily I have taken care of it pretty well. Chain sharpening

My solution to keeping logs out of the dirt when cutting into firewood sized logs. Of course now that I have pallet forks for the tractor, not sure if I will use them to load this or just cut from the forks. I love this rack though. Buck your trees into 8' lengths. The you get to stand up...

    Adding LED's for night work

    Good morning!!!!

Parboil something to go in the smoker? NO WAY! I think there are laws to keep people from doing that. Sounds like they foil over their meat to get it cooked quicker and only get smoke on it for a short time for a little smoke flavor. Sounds like tourist food.
