Aside from the size (horsepower rating), they are both updraft carbs. The first one looks like the old Zenith carbs with a remote air cleaner. The second one looks like the air cleaner sits on top. Perhaps an oil bath type. The choke orientation is different on each--One on the engine side...

The listing shows a carriage door entry in the back that appears to be the under-house garage. I don't see a way to get to it though. The "lawn" is too steep to drive down to it. That should work but don't just drill it straight through. Drill one hole on an edge of the underside then drill the top hole 180 degrees from that. A straight through hole might gush gasoline.

    Wonder why parts aren’t available?

To a company, that stuff has already been paid for, depreciated and charged off at a considerable gain to the company for tax relief. Selling it, in any manner, would subject the company to a host of accounting, legal and tax problems. It's not worth it so it goes into a bin.

Nondetergent oil is/was made for machines that don't have an oil filter. Particles and carbon would sink to the bottom of the pan and be drained out with the next change. Brass doesn't spark but the valve may contain a steel pin in the mechanics of the valve. That would (could) spark. I'd enjoy the 308 method of emptying. Take note, gas can remain in the tank even when it appears to be empty. Propane is heavier than air.

    Hello from Oregon

Welcome to the Forum! (y) I had to refresh my memory too. Hadn't heard land referred to that way since my grandad farmed. Are you from the "old county"? One hectare is equal to 100 square meters or about 2.47ac. So 18Ha. is just under 47.5ac. My grandfather made a living on 40ac. so there's a...

Distribution valve assembled in the correct order ?

Are you talking about the steering column valve? Is it a Parker valve? If so, those have a specific order of assembly with the notches in a specific position. Change one plate and you're out of luck. I hope you took a picture of the original. Otherwise, you'll need the manufacture's overhaul...

The guy that put the engine internals together says "The rings are not seated yet end the smoking is normal. Just give it a couple hours of work"

The builder may have broken a ring putting them in. Were the cylinders honed? In that photo, they look like crap. Oil in the exhaust can only come from a poor ring job.

    Repair Parts Sources

What's the problem with your cable? Did the end just pull off or did the cable break? I'd be making my own before paying $750 for an assembly. You can buy cable stock and a handy farmer can make threaded ends from a grade-8 bolt.

    Good morning!!!!

Yes, it is. The photo after it (original post) shows the inside.

    Good morning!!!!

That photo of the Angata Camp reminded me of the John Wayne movie Hatari.

    Good morning!!!!

My dad owned (leased) a gas station in 1967-70. I worked there during my junior and senior years in high school (1967-68). Gas was generally 19-20 cents a gallon and dropped to 17 cents during "gas wars". The price was set by the supplier most of the time. Starting around 1969-70 I saw gas move...

325 hydro pulley and tensioner out of plane?

No, it is not normal to have misaligned pulleys. Something may be bent, or a bearing is worn allowing a pulley to shift on its axis. It's also extremely important to keep the correct tension on belts.
  109. Tinhack

    Good morning!!!!

I see a what looks like a 39 Ford on the right side of that picture. It also looks like it's in the South. That price was good until about the late 60s when the then administration again locked down the oil and there was NO gas. Remember the gas lines of the 70s?
  110. Tinhack

    Good morning!!!!

You know that's not going to happen with the current administration. He has already said, "No more oil". We'll have to go to war before he breaks that promise. Or folks are so poor, hungry and out of work because our life depends on China.
  111. Tinhack

    Good morning!!!!

My mom will be 98 in January. I'm hoping she makes it. It's been a little rough on her lately with bad knees. Her aunt lived to 105 with the same ailment. Lost my dad in 2010 but he had a good run to 86.
  112. Tinhack

    Good morning!!!!

73 going to 89 today with a 56% chance of rain. Added another candle to the cake today. Life is still good. (y)

    Tractor setting areas on fire?

My first guess would be a rusted-out muffler. The iron oxide that forms as well as the carbon can ignite and throw sparks. As already mentioned, running a test at night with a hot engine should show if there's any sparks generated. Fires don't start on their own.

    Straw over grass seed

It's one and same down here. Hay when it's new, straw when it's dried out. Not many green "lawns" down here this year. No rain and record heat all summer. Just set another record high yesterday. 97 F-ing degrees (as opposed to C degrees)! I only mowed once this year. I think it was back in...

Tiller width and tractor tire width

Just like plowing, the tires that drop into the fresh cut ground on the next pass will tilt the tractor. Being capable of leveling the tiller when this happens keeps the cut/depth equal and covers the tracts. I'm sorry you've never used or understood TnT.
  116. Tinhack

    Straw over grass seed

Same here. But I guess it depends on the quality of the straw. I ended up with a yard full of "weeds". It took a while to eliminate the weeds.
  117. Tinhack

Tiller width and tractor tire width

That's the beauty of having TnT hydraulics on the 3Ph. It doesn't matter how wide the tiller is--You can offset each pass to fully cover tractor tracks. The TnT allows you to raise (or drop) one side to compensate for "sink". It doesn't matter whether you're going up one side and down the other...

    Mahindra 1635 Fuel cutoff?

It looks like it must have a rotating sleeve that unscrews then the connector is pulled off--Similar to the old speedometer connections. I don't own a Mahindra so I could be dead wrong but, I just looked at the sensor. (shown below)

    Thermostart

Thats how my 3910 is plumbed. But the thermostart element is also a valve. It opens when heated. There's also a separate point on the ignition switch too. It's just before the Start so you have to release the start and turn it back one position. I've wired the air cleaner light to also indicate...

  124. Tinhack

    are hydraulic fittings reverse thread?

All my flat face couplers have a notch on the release ring. Is that what you're talking about? It needs to line up with the pin/ball to release the coupler. The release ring will rotate so you can lock a coupler together if necessary.

    Heard of this grease fitting?

Those were the original "quick connect" fittings. The lube kit I got for my electric grease gun has a lock-on attachment similar to that but for standard grease fittings. Yeah, but it my money. I don't like others spending it for me. The water company knew there was a main at the front of the property. DIY Concrete stain

You can order concrete with the color already in it. I think there's 20-30 colors available. As far as staining concrete, you have to seal it after staining. And the stain pretty much stays near the surface so chipping or heavy traffic will wear it off. They make special sealers too.

    DIY Concrete stain

I wouldn't use oil, new or used. The smell would be around forever. I have a few spills on my barn floor from rebuilding an engine 10 years ago and I still smell it when I go in there. The only thing that smells better is the cutting oil I use for my mill and lathe.

I didn't mean to sound like I was putting the machine down. I meant that type of valve is the cheaper of all the different types of steering valves.
