My Wicked 60 grapple was delivered this week and I must admit, it was smooth in spite of me making a change. I called Estes trucking and asked if I could pick it up at their terminal instead of waiting for it to deliver to my work address. I had all the info I needed from Cole at EA, and they...

3-pt. Rear Rotary Cutter (bush hog)

Early spring of 2020 I bought a Yanmar YRC 720 rotary cutter that is basically identical to a BB72. Yanmar used to make BB I was told. I paid $2100 and the “same” BB was $2300. It isn’t the most heavy-duty cutter out there but it’s not the least either. I like it and it’s worked great on my...

Can I just pour cement in ballast box and add water.

I found a 1000# lead block and it fit perfect, plus left room for tools.

    Is Availability Coming Back?

I was at my JD dealer this morning. He had a lot more steel on his lot than I’ve seen in a long time! I mentioned it when I chatted with “my” salesman. He laughed and said everything I see outside and everything he has in their huge shops right now is all sold. Except for two 1025’s. When I...

Harbor Freight Tools that don't suck

Don’t know yet….but I bought a Great big chinesium wrench that is 1 1/8” on one side and 1 1/2” on the other. Box ends. Exactly what I need for a couple of implements. $7.95 Separate wrenches at TS were $22.95 each! I might go buy another one…..and I haven’t used the first!😂

Compact Tractor Dealers Ignore Two-thirds of Their Potential Website Customers, Industry Survey Shows

When I started shopping for my tractor I admit I was thinking green or orange……in that order. I was paying cash. Since I already knew something about the green one (4066r brother has it), I went to the Orange dealer first to look real close at the Grand L. There wasn’t a single customer in...

Noob Here...Seeking a Tractor Education, Please

When I bought my first tractor, one thing that I didn’t consider carefully enough was the cost of implements. My wife certainly thought we’d buy the tractor and be mostly done with spending money. 😂😂 ballast box, mower(s), snowblower, forks, grapple, spreader, food plot planter, and all the...

Travis, I ordered a grapple in mid November. My confirmation notes appx 5 months lead time (mid April). Based on what you know now, do you think that is still accurate? Will production from your new factory start in time to affect spring delivery lead times positively?

Noob Here...Seeking a Tractor Education, Please

It may have been more than than $1k. It was just before Covid started so times were a little different maybe? My salesman didn’t really seem to care one way or another if I bought cash or did the finance deal, but he did “throw in” the beet juice too. I do believe in borrowing money...

In my case, I think a cash deal helped. About $1000 discount versus taking 0% financing.

Noob Here...Seeking a Tractor Education, Please

My tractor picking method was thinking about it off and on for about a year to wrap my head around the $. I hadn’t even gone to a dealer yet. One day my brother called and told me to come over and look at his new toy. A sparkly JD4066R! I then made the mistake of taking it for a little spin...

    BB60 vs EA Rotary cutter

I paid $1900 for a Yanmar 72” rotary cutter last spring (YRC720 I think is the model #). It’s almost exactly the same as the BB 72” cutter…..except black. Nice mower and about $500 less than the orange one. Plus I like the way black and green look together😉.

Flow fast fuel containers and pumps

I have one. Added the 5’ hose extension….which is real nice….and a cheap HF 2 wheeled dolly. Most of the time it sits in my garage and I use it to put gas in (and pull out) of ATV’s, snowmobiles, boats, mowers, and sometimes vehicles. When I go off grid fishing in Canada, we use it to fill...

Spreader New 8’ drop spreader for lime

Well, it certainly wasn’t one of those crazy deals you sometimes see people talking about in forums. The owner knew what he had and I’m fine with that because it’ll save me quite a bit of money within the first couple of years. Plus I have enough stuff to fix already and really wanted this to...

Spreader  New 8’ drop spreader for lime

I’ve been looking for a good 8’ spreader for over a year. This morning, I learned about this one and by 3 pm I was on my way home with it. All 8 zerks took grease and the inside is almost rust free. Exactly what I hoped to find. My only question is, what is it? It has a ‘Sears, Roebuck, &...

    Ballast Box Loading

Update : the lead block - i found out it’s original use was as front ballast on a very old tractor. It has a eye hook molded into the top ( balance point) which made it real easy to chain up and slowly lower it into the box. It just barely fit. I cheated it as far rearward in the box as I...

I cancelled my grapple order that should have been delivering in the next 2 weeks when I learned that it wasn’t…..and that I’d be lucky to have it before the snow flies. I held off on my grapple projects all summer thinking I’d still be able to get them done before winter in spite of the crazy...

    Ballast Box Loading

Point taken Diggin……long term I’m thinking either a trailer or possibly 3ph forks maybe? That said, I know someone who’s been using his 4 series JD to shuttle 6’ round bales out to haul trucks …… much further than I’m going……all summer long. No issues - he says. I take it super slow with the...

    Ballast Box Loading

Thanks Dough…..that’s what I was hoping was the case. I figure the box, lead, sand and a few tools is going to put me around 1300#. The reason I want the extra weight out back is because I’ve been hauling appx 2000# IBC totes full of water out to a couple of spots on my land. It’s about 1/3...

I’ll wait patiently for my grapple to arrive but I should not have to call you or email you to learn that you have systemic problems and my order will be delayed. Particularly after I’ve waited, without bothering you about it, until past the “or so” quote you provided. It’s your job to keep...

Thank you everyone, I appreciate your comments very much. I know what the lead is worth but a friend doesn’t take something from a friend under the assumption that he’s going to put it to use….and then go sell it. At least this friend doesn’t. If I did, I’d give him the money. *when WWZ...

In a few days I’ll take delivery of a new Cat1 Titan ballast box. It has a max weight rating of 800#. Was planning on concrete. Not even an hour after I ordered it a buddy told me he has a big piece of lead he wants to get out of his garage (10” h x 12” w x 18” L). Free. By my calculation...

I watched the “wickeder” video and have 2 questions. Isn’t the open face of the new hardox stiffener going to get plugged with dirt / small rocks when back dragging? When the right sized rock or stick gets jammed tight in there, won’t it prevent the upper lid tines from digging as deeply as...
