My 2012 dk40se hst lever always has had soooo much sloppy movement at least 3 inches cause of the stupid roll pins they use, just going to tack weld it in place

Have a dk40se need recommendation for a power offset flail mower that can handle the dreaded autumn olive up to 3 inches 😀

update , got new factory dipstick and nice tight fit 👌

People are making this way to complicated, the dipstick was always kinda loose AND I was in heavy brush hence it was just pulled out and gone, I have a new one and oil change is due so I'll change oil awhile, thanks all appreciate it 😀

my engine oil dipstick got yanked out brush hogging today, didn't notice till putting tractor away, was spurting oil out of the stick hole was running it for 2 hours, how much came out,??? Iam going to change the oil just in case

how hard was the range selector to remove? I should really do the drill out the hole for a pin thing instead of tack welding it on the end BUT it's soooo much quicker 🤪

First inspect for a missing or broken spring pin were the range lever connects to the shaft that comes out of the tractor , put another pin back in then I would tack weld it at the end of the shift and range lever on the flush part , this will keep all the slop out of everything, if for some...

Possible that stupid spring pin in the lever connection thing, there's 2 pins in it, a smaller dia one goes into the larger one, tack weld it in place 😉, that's my next move.

alittle off subject sorry but I bent my throttle linkage ears some , the foward and reverse. I straightened them out best I could from under the tractor, it just seems that I don't have full travel on the linkage now resulting in not having full power, if that makes sense? Thanks 2012 dk40hst

probably that half-assed sloppy split pin connection they use to attach the lever to the outer shaft ,just move the selector around and watch your dash readings, I'm ready to tack weld mine instead of that roll pin thing

Does your shift lever have alot of play in it? They used some pc of crap roll pin to link the two together, I just took the pin out and used a 10-24 screw instead, WORLD of difference in the play

My sluggishness went away after I straightened out the bent ears on the pedal linkage thingy underneath which gave me full pedal travel, omg

gotcha, I had sticks jamed under the pedals a few times and that bent stuff up ,I'll fiddle with the underside rebent stuff I did ect this weekend, iam not easy on machine but it's a tuff one ,really appreciate all the help comments 👌

My 2012 dk40se hst foward pedal was bent under tractor so I straightened it out best I could now seems like not getting full travel on the foward linkage under floor , can I adjust the linkage out more to get full travel for foward?

My dk40se hst at 200 hrs seems sluggish compared to new, 2012 MY, other day I tried adjusting the pressure relief valve something under the seat, the one with the Allen wrench end and a jam nut, I ended up completely unscrewing it out , was careful BUT not sure if I lost a spring in it or not...
