SA 425 Hydraulic Top Link info

At that price? i'd consider getting one from Yanmar that you know would fit perfectly and work. I did ask about adding a 3rd function and I don't remember the price installed...but if you can find the part, installing shouldn't be a big deal...

    Yanmar Corporate Call

Got a call from a Corporate Yanmar rep. They're surveying customers. Basic questions: how satisfied are you with your tractor? Would you recommend us to a friend? Have you contacted Yanmar and were they responsive? I took the opportunity to discuss the dealer network needing to be built...

    Backhoe vs Tractor with backhoe

I will agree with this. If Money and Storage Space are no factor....by all means, get the backhoe attachment. Just know they're limited in use, especially on a compact tractor; they don't have the swing range, capacity/power of a dedicated machine, etc... I found a friend with a BX w/Backhoe...

I don't...but a good "hose shop" should be able to make something work for you.

    Backhoe vs Tractor with backhoe

Friend advised me "I own a 200 acres and wouldn't buy one...rent it the handful of times you need one...way better to get other attachments you will use"...he was 100% right. They're 30%+ cost of most compact tractors and I might/could have used it a few times, but not anything I regularly need...

SA 425 Hydraulic Top Link info

So far so good...about 20 hours and I did 5 truck loads of dirt for 15 years of deferred lawn maintenance. Filling in rings around trees from the mower, wash out/erosion issues, covering up rocks, you name it. Used the loader and back dragged most of it. Float mode with the box blade (it...

Find the largest hydraulic hose maker in your area...take in your link and remove one of the quick attaches. That's 100% the way to get it right the first time. I did that, but went to a small "farm" hose maker and they didn't have the smaller 3/8" JIC or banjos. #lessonlearned

    Insurance for tractor and attachments

I went through the same rodeo with my agent: "It's covered by Home owners"...but not if you leave your yard...and after HUGE Deductible...also goes against your total contents. Bought a commercial Policy for about $500 per year covers the machine, me, liability, Property Damage, etc...no one...

Up-Armored with Broken Anvil grill guard

Installed the Broken Anvil Grill Guard. Took about 30min. Fit the grill with the lower bolts and some clamps. Marked the mounting tab holes, center punch, 1/8" pilot hole, then step bit to 11/16ths. Paint the inside of the steel and snug it up. Pretty straight forward. Super high quality...

    Yanmar yt235 pto not working

Start at the switch and fuses…meter them….likely problem. Getting hands on a manual would help. Short of that…work backwards and eliminate the easy switch and fuse. Example: you check for continuity at the pins at the switch (removed)…if the they work it’s not the switch….move to the pins in...

The Bucketeer on the SA425 = gamechanger

It’s worth a try. The grapple is good for grabbing and pulling up shrubs, etc….but it’s kind of like a backhoe…most people use it a few times and it’s a $$$ boat anchor after that. If I had a grapple it would sit more than it worked. Let me know what you end up doing.

The Bucketeer on the SA425 = gamechanger

Yes...call them. They are re-doing their website, they said. It can be installed over the tooth bar. I've considered adding one, also. The advantage you'll have, since you already have the bar installed, is the hardware is already installed for the bar, so you can install this and adjust...

Introduction and pole barn planning help

On the SLAB vs. Basement discussion: I had the decision made for me. I'm in TN and the amount of rock to just get this level (we broke an industrial ROCK HAMMER on this job) meant no basement. The owner of the Building Supply suggested I do storage up....since I was trying to match the style...

    Electric Riding Mowers

I've had Husqvarna battery system blower and weed eater for about 4 years. The original 2 batteries are both doing a "I may or may not work today" mode. Bought a replacement battery...$179. These are used very sparingly...as I have gas stuff and these are for blowing off the porch and...

The Bucketeer on the SA425 = gamechanger

Last night had another tree branch go down at a tenant's house. Laying on the roof over a "good" tree, luckily, it didn't do any damage. I will have to take down another "Y" off that tree when the weather breaks and will take some better pics of the tractor in action. We dropped it and pulled...

SA425 (should be all models) PTO Switch Snapped off!!!!

That's the brand I originally ordered...different SKU, and that is the correct pin configuration. IDK if the amperage makes any difference or if the switch is anymore "robust" for the extra $5, but luckily Amazon had free returns. #goodintel

The dealer at HAY suggested 31-34" long on the hoses. And we went through the length, and I think the CLASS 1 on this is a bit longer than some of the other brands in this COMPACT SIZE. He was shocked at the 26" adjusted length of the stock Top link. But agreed that it was the right call to...

I've been lurking and finally pulled the trigger on a new SA425. Brought it home Saturday. I picked up a package with a Box Blade and 48" Rotary Cutter; I added a Landscape Rake. Did some minor dirt work....my good dirt pile is currently a mud bog, and it's not spreading well. I took the...
