Gear Oil Type for Tiller Attachement

Well, the results are in. The top gear box on the RT3049 was filled up to about half an inch below top of the box and it vented a few ounces of gear oil out of the top on the first run today. So, either I'll run it again and see if it continues to spew oil out the vent hole on the top plug...

Gear Oil Type for Tiller Attachement

Another data point and a question on this... Just bought a new Frontier (Maschio) RT3049 tiller from Deere and saved $200 by doing the final assembly myself. Dealer gave me 2 quarts of the same 75W/140 Deere branded gear oil. My question is about the central gear box for the PTO...

Deere 4110 replacement 2 series or 3 series

If mid-mount mower is required, 2038R. Get the radial tire R3 option for a comfy ride. After market cab setup as needed seasonally. 3Rs will be more everything (power, FEL, etc.) but too heavy for mowing unless it's just perfectly dry conditions.

Web sites don't lie to people, but...

Sad to say, but it seems that all the major tractor retailers are simply lying on their websites about the state of inventory. After shopping this fall, the pattern spreads across EVERY brand. This isn't just confusion over the list of models being on the site versus ones that have real...

Where do tractors go when they truly, completely, totally wear out!

Other than "tractor heaven" or "tractor Hell" of course... I've seen junkers at dealers, but never at auto scrap yards that I can recall. I'd think someone has the equivalent of a tractor "pull a part" yard somewhere?

Weight Distributing Hitch on equipment trailer

Big fan of my WDH and tandem axle trailer brakes on my 7Klbs trailer. Got lucky that I could buy an extra set of trailer frame brackets for the weight distributing hitch that I bought with our camper setup right by the dealer. All my trailers are 2 5/16" balls now, everything interchanges...

    B2601 vs kioti ck2610

B2601 and CK2610 are not apples to apples. Kioti CK2510 HST is the more comparable machine. Even still, CK2510 somewhere between B2601 and LX2610 in capabilities (depends on the feature measured). FWIW, I wouldn't do B2601 for 10 acres. Search and find (and wait if needed) for a LX2610...

    Completely new to Kioti

A CK3510SE is a really well equipped, nice, heavy, stable common-rail diesel smooth running machine with monster hydraulic pump, dual rear remotes, handy cruise control/throttle pedal goodies and PTO hp that will far more than handle a 60" flail. I felt it near to a Kubota L3901 roughly in...

    Some advice needed

@Mudslugger, In addition to what others said already, did you talk to a human or just ask via email? All the dealers sales people are usually trained to avoid quotes in written email responses to "blind inquiries" and ensure it's a legit interested buyer instead of a waste of time email...

    1025R and 2025R comparison

@sleuth, Congrats on the decision! Nice machine with small size, but also more weight than the Deere's in question... We'll be eager to hear how the dealer experience was and overall experience is with it as you get bolder on projects over time. Seems a good rig when used properly. Just...

    1025R and 2025R comparison

@sleuth, After reading those 1025R vs. 2025R threads, check back and let us know what you're tractor needs really are. If you're buying a backhoe, belly mower and maybe some upgrades like R3 radial turf tires or other attachments, the sky is the limit and Deere will gladly empty your bank...

Who has really done a swap of R4s to R3 Radials (and net $)??

Bought a new to me 2025R recently with loaded tires. My place is mostly flat or very gentle slope and cleared with only horse barn cleanup and garden loader work moving compost and heavy stuff on a crusher run base between barn and garden. So I'm really tired of the R-4s leaving deep tire...

Price Check  LX2610 with LA435 (plain jane) lately?

Curious what % off of list pricing on tractor with loader deals (to try to simplify, no backhoe, no "package deals" with other goodies)... First dealer bid was at 10% off plus the Kubota incentives locally... If there's 20% margin, plus 5% volume bonus plus 5% other SPIFs plus maybe other...

    Thoughts on a 2013 B3200 HSD?

After owning a 2001 L4301 long ago that I sold, we've moved to a new place with just under 2 acres to fix up. Looking for belly mower, ground leveling on an acre in the back and some gardening on some soft red clay (for a spot that had about 1/2 acre of garden long ago, so getting it going...

disc harrow (2 row floating vs. non-floating)

Am looking to buy a good disc harrow to work 2 previously well-worked garden areas plus to bust up a 3rd area as a corn patch (all told almost 2 acres). Found a set with a 6'5' wide set of16 discs for $400 locally on Craigslist. From searching the threads, are these the Ford floating kind...

Rotary Cutter  Deal or steal (literally?) on a Bush Hog finishing mower

Any Bush Hog finishing mower experts out there who can confirm the year of a used side-discharge mower based on serial number? Model is ATH 720 Serial is 12-08289 Also, what sort of things should I look for mechanically on pulleys, blades, seals, etc. to make sure it's not going to need a...

Forks  Any experiences with these bucket forks?

I searched the forums and saw a few posts, but am wondering about these ebay screw-down type forks from the guy in MI a few others have used that will work on my FEL that has a toothbar (of course, I'll have to make sure the bracket fits over the bar and that it'll fit between select teeth on...

    2000 L4310 vs. 2008 L3240

I'm interested in getting opinions on what will be the best long term purchase for 16 acres of horse farm and pasture that I'm reviving right now. The previous owner let it grow up in trees and scrub and most fences that circle the property need to be cleared & replaced. I also have a 1/3 mile...
