MT125, no power after starter swap.

Hooking it up loose means that the starter isn't grounded, so it won't work. I am not familiar with LS tractors, but most starters are grounded through the housing. Even setting the starter against the engine may give it ground, but possibly not enough. I feel you have a wire in the wrong place...

How to Remove Rusted Wheel - Troy Bilt Tiller

Mix 50/50 ATF and acetone. Put in an oil can and squirt it on. Keep applying to both sides, and shake the can every time, as the acetone and ATF will separate. Give it a day or two and it should come off. You can try heat first, but just enough to make the wheel center expand and not the axle shaft.

    What is this bearing?

For the inner race to still be intact, you either have a broken shaft inside there somewhere, or a bearing was dropped during assembly and left in the bottom. the way the outer race is in pieces, there is a heck of a good chance there are teeth broken out on gears as well.

    BX23 water pump questions

Take the thermostat to Napa, they can probably match it up with another by size that is rated for lower temps, or just replace it with a new OE one to see if that fixes it. Water pump could also be an issue, but thermostats tend to be a lot cheaper and easier.

    1845 problem

It just donned on me that some Deutz engines have an external solenoid that opens the fuel flow via a spring and rod connected to a spring shut lever on the injection pump. If that's the case here, the solenoid needs adjusted so it can fully retract. Is that the case here or is the shut off...

Leaking steering box, John Deere 2030

Are you talking about the valve in the console, or the "motor"? The steering valve ports, IIRC are o-ring boss. I hate to say it, but what you say, my gut tells me you have a loss of compression. Could be as simple as rebuilding the head, but my gut says an injector failed, and burnt a hole in a piston. Some of those Yanmar engines had a crank pulley that was actually a clutch, so to speak. Eventually...

Terrible idea. If you can trace the wire connected to the fuse from a to z, then eliminate it and run a new wire with a fuse. Backhoes are great tools, but terribly hard on farm tractors. Farm tractors just weren't built for backhoes, so they can't really handle abuse, just easy digging. General opinions on R1 vs. R14 tires?

I have had all three. The R14 tires were fine most of the time, loading hay out of the field and stacking it in the shed, terrible choice while pulling the disc, let alone the plow or chisel. R4's, for what I do, I would never own another set. For me, plowing snow with tire chains, making and...

    Max tow weight confusion

Most, and I emphasize most, trailers are rated per axle combination. With 2-7k axles they call it 14k trailer, but that takes out the weight of the trailer itself. So, a "14k" trailer minus the #2500 ish weight of the trailer itself makes it ~11.5k capacity. Some of that is put on the truck...

3020 has oil blowing out of the exhaust

This is running on all four cylinders just fine, has a hard time revving up but I'm sure that's because of the oil. I haven't let it get hot enough for a runaway. I am also thinking valve stem seals, but I didn't know if there was somewhere else that I should check first. I am a heavy equipment...

Third Function on 4707 Not Working

I'm assuming that you have a electric over hydraulic diverter valve, are you getting power to the solenoids? A lot of those kits use a button to activate the solenoid, then you need to use the dump/curl function or lift/drop function as it diverts the hydraulic flow to the 3rd function.

    Valve issue ?

Have you checked pressures of your functions? I'm wondering about your pressure relief and/or a priority flow divider. Is it possible your P and PB ports are reversed?

3020 has oil blowing out of the exhaust

I have a '65 Deere 3020 diesel non-turboed that I had plugged in overnight to fire up the next morning to push snow. All of a sudden after 3-4 minutes of running to warm up, tractor hadn't moved yet, it started smoking like an old steam locomotive. I went over to it and oil was blowing out of...

    Farmall M rebuild

My dad recently was given a Farmall M that had a stuck motor. We poured diesel into the spark plug holes and let it sit a week or so, then used a board and a large hammer to knock out the one stuck piston, all the others were free. We then did an in-frame rebuild without doing the main seals nor...

    Ooo body parts

This may be the shortest thread ever, we'll see... I'm helping restore a '42 9n. I need the grill, dog legs, and fenders with the raised Ford lettering. Where can I find these parts, original, and are they interchangeable with the 8n and 2n?

    Good morning!!!!

Currently 44* F this morning, with 60% chance of rain. Maybe it will get rid of the two feet of snow still in my yard, although that means the driveway will be a mess for the next month. Here we have three seasons, snow, mud, and dry.:D

    Welder engine rebuilding advice

I've got a miller bobcat welder that I bought at auction and it has been great. This last summer it started burning a lot of oil. I've decided to rebuild it, but haven't ever done a small engine before. I have done an old stove bolt chevy, a couple small block Chevys, and a 4 cylinder dry...

    Zetor 5211 control levers

Greetings all!! I just got an '84 Agri-power 5000, AKA Zetor 5211. I've spent all week getting it running and changing/cleaning all fluids and filters. Unfortunatly, there are no labels left to tell me what each lever and knob does. There are two levers left of the seat, and three on the...

    C.A.V. Injector pump problems?

Here's that pic of a Pump somiliar to mine. Banjodunn is correct about paying attention to where the gorvernor springs are. This pump is on multiple machines, from CAT to Allis and so on. The spring location changes a lot of the function. I hope nobody minds that I took this pic from the net...

    C.A.V. Injector pump problems?

I've got a Massey 165 with a Perkins AD4.203 diesel engine. The Injector pump is a C.A.V. pump. The whole problem started while clearing snow with the FEL. The tractor rpm's went through the roof, causing the head gasket to blow out. We got everything fixed, or so i thought, the tractor starts...

Oil & Fuel  water in the oil

Greetings all. I have a 68 ish massey 165 with some sort of problem. I could have the usual suspects such as a cracked head, blown head gasket, leaking sleeve, hole in sleeve (caused by cavitation of the coolant), cracked block, or a loose head bolt. By the way, its a diesel. I dont have the...
