Did you change the bearings on the opposite side at the same time?

The only other thing I can think of is one or both of the circled bearings are worn. When the weight of the roll gets on these rollers they move causing the chain to get slack in it.

Is the chain new? It looks like it is too long and the idler can't keep tension on the chain.

It is Cedar Apple Rust. There are fungicides to control it. If you have apple trees it will cause spots on the leaves as well as the apples. It seems to stunt the growth of the fruit too.

Got 6 of these dumping hoppers that were going to be scrapped where I work. Part of them have holes in the bottom for water to drain out. I'm thinking about putting a drain in the others. A full hopper lasts about 12 days.

I have also tried this with the wires at the top & tightening them with a ratchet. There's a 1/2 x 18" rebar drove through the post & into the brace. I put this up in 2012 & it is still tight. The field floods & the water will completely cover the posts.

Cut the trees from the stump this afternoon and pulled it out of the way. It was about 11' in circumference & the largest of the 3 trunks was about 23" x 28". The smallest was 12" & the 3rd was 17" in the smallest diameter.
