    The Dyno puts out ac voltage, the rectifier/regulator changes is to dc voltage. His 15 to 27 volts is ac before the rectifier/regulator.

    Unplug your dynamo and use a voltmeter turned to ac voltage and touch the leads to the two wires coming off your dynamo. Rpms will effect output, could be anywhere from 15 to 30 ac volts depending on rpm. That should tell you whether your dynamo is good or not. Dynamos give very little trouble...

    I believe the little black item is a vent canister for the brake housing. I think if you trace the hoses that is where they will go. I also believe they do not vent the transmission cavity. I also believe the return adapter that Hoye used to sell was made to screw into the dip stick hole.

    Looks good. If there was some way to put a 90 degree ell in your adapter to force the flow down it would probably eliminate fluid coming out of the vent. Or maybe a baffle in there to force the flow downward. Just talking. :D

    Valve cover gasket has nothing to do with blow by or starting, only seals oil from running out. Any blow by is coming from crankcase and that is the smoke you are seeing when valve cover is off.

    It does come up as an o-ring one time but mostly as a bolt. That part number is out of the John Deere 850 parts manual. The John Deere 850 and Yanmar 2500 pretty much share the same engine. No warranty on my part that it is correct is my feeling is is correct.

    Both rear wheels will spin if differential lock is pressed. If not, wheel with least resistance will spin. Front wheels will both spin if on equal traction, if not, the one with least resistance will.

    If engine is not turning over then that is the number 1 issue. As Carey said, make sure the starter is good and if so your engine must be locked up. Probably hard to do but you could try turning the engine with a socket and ratchet. I am thinking it is a 46mm socket size.

    The 2000 and 226 both use the same sensor. The 226 manual states the red light comes on at 230F so according to Yanmar 230F at that location is to hot. Both tractor use a 13# radiator cap.

    #2 is your differential lock. you sometimes have to be moving for the pedal to align cogs. It should automatically come up when taking your foot off. However, it will sometimes stay engaged until binding of gears is relaxed. Differential lock and 4 wheel drive are two separate components.
