    Mowing Breaking BX Blade Bolts

I still have to pull the deck back off (I hate doing that) but here are a couple pics of the carnage.

    Mowing  Breaking BX Blade Bolts

I have a BX1860 with a 48 inch deck. It has been flawless the two previous mowing seasons but it is giving me fits this year. I have had four mower blade bolts shear off. In the spring my wife took the deck in to the dealer to have the blades sharpened because I was out of town with work for...

    Replacing trailer deck?

Just picked up a new to me flat bed trailer. A couple of the boards could stand to be replaced but it isnt obvious to me how to do it. The boards fit in a groove around the frame and there are not any bolts holding them down. It almost looks like they stuck the boards in and then finished...

    Kioti Lube

Stopped in to see Bob at MIE yesterday so I could pick up the 50 hr service. There are now official Kioti Lube products. This was news to me so I thought I would share. If nothing else I thought we could begin the "which fluids should I use: OEM or aftermarket" debates like in the Kubota forum. :)

Things to look for on E350?

I am going to go look at a 94 E350 with a 7.3 IDI on Saturday. Talked to the guy and it seems the biggest issue is a tranny leak from the bellhousing. Anybody have any advice on specifics I should check or be aware of on this van? I have never really messed around with Ford vans.

    Rally Racing anybody?

Does anybody follow rally racing? It is certainly difficult since Speed stopped airing coverage (although I hear its coming back so I might actually have to sign up for satellite) but with the internet and mobile apps you can stay on top of things with relative ease. With Loeb winning Argentina...

My Kioti is straining my relationship!

Having had my Dk40 for several weeks now I am finding it is putting a serious strain on my relationship with my little BX1860. I have a couple of small implements that the BX is the perfect size for (like a homemade arena drag) and the DK is obvious overkill. However the 3 point on the DK has...

    The greatest BX mod ever!

Having grow frustrated with a complete lack of room on my BX1860 I set out to create the greatest storage system known to man. After more minutes of R&D than I can count I developed the prototype you see here. It had been in validation for about two months so I thought I would share my design...

Dr Orangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Kioti

After reading K0UA's thread I thought I would share my story. In 2010 I spent a great deal of time researching tractors. I stuck to the Deere/New Holland/Kubota dealers for a multitude of reasons. I decided on a Kubota L3700su and life was good. We actually thought it would be a little big...

    DK40 Loader

I am looking for some feedback on the DK40 loader. I am thinking of replacing my current tractor with one because I need the increased capacity. I know the spec is 2761 at pin, but as I have found out the numbers do not always apply in the real world once you start factoring in what type of load...

L3700SU Loader and wheel weight question

Hello all. I have a L3700su i bought a little over a year and 100 hours ago. When I bought it, it was perfect for us (10 Acres and a couple of horses). A few months ago I bought some clamp on pallet forks to pick up a box we fill with manure and unload pallets. The problem i am running into is...

    Anybody ever move through Canada?

I was hoping somebody could help me figure out how things work. My wife and I need to go back to her native northern Maine to pick up some furnature. We now live in Michigan and it would be about 860 miles to go through Canada all the way to Maine. It would be about 1150 miles to skirt around...

    Simplicity Chipper/Shredder

I just picked up a Simplicity 8/14 chipper. It has an 8 horse Tecumseh engine on it. I am trying to figure out how old it is. When did Simplicity stop using Tecumseh? The DOM on the motor is 1291 D. Based on what I saw on the Tecumseh site it could be from any year that ends in 1. 2001...

    Largest Garden Tractor?

Just out of curiosity, what is the largest garden tractor? The Deere 400 series? Simplicity 9020? The subject came up at lunch today and I figured I would get other people's input.

    Tractor News  New Holland-LS tractors

I was in my local New Holland dealer today and the owner gave me a preliminary brochure for the new LS tractors. I didn't see the information on the New Holland website so I thought I would share. There will be 4 tractors; the Boomer 30, Boomer 35, Boomer 40 and Boomer 50. The specs seem to...

    110 Snowblower installation question

I recently bought a 1973 110. Its a nice little tractor and was a one owner. I plan to use it to mow (it came with a deck) and remove snow with a blower. I bought a snow blower for it but it is currently 300 miles from the tractor. I am picking it up next week and want to go ahead an hook it...

Buying Advice  When did metal fenders stop?

I have begun to look at some used compact tractors. I know the plastic vs metal fenders is a source of some controversy. I would prefer to buy something with metal ones though. The ones I have seen that were a year or two old have plastic so I was wondering where I should focus my search. I...

    Help identifying old tractor

Hey everybody, I have been lurking around this site for a couple of months. I am in the process of buying a bit of land and have been using these forums for opinion, pictures and advice. In addition to a CUT I also am looking at a smaller garden tractor for work around the house. I am going to...
