    The sun sets on the few remaining GE C40-8 locomotives on the Iron Range, here a southbound trio of dash 8's led by CN 2010 stopped in Biwabik MN waiting for a northbound train. It got to dark to shoot the actual meet. 10/15/24. I must say, he took a super nice picture.

    Cool mornings make for pellet car steam! It's 46 degrees in Culver MN but the trees aren't fooled though. Fall color is a week or so behind normal but there has been significant change in the last 3 days making for a nice going-away backdrop for this U717 from Fairlane this morning.

    Hiking the North Country trail over the weekend we crossed a CN RR grade I'd predict will be abandoned. With the spikes being so loose, why wouldn't the engines weight tip the rails over? This is south of Houghton MI.
