3-Point Hitch Top link mount tore off back of differential case

Wondering if anyone has experienced (prefer first hand; happened to your tractor) a top link mount being torn off the case of your tractor (any model or make).

I have a 2016 Kubota L3901 with approximately 84 hours and a 3 point (formerly) mounted WoodMaxx 7600 backhoe attached.

I am now aware that some recommend against mounting backhoes with 3 point hitches.

This has been reported a few times here on TBN. Hopefully one of those members will see this thread and tell their story.

A 3pt backhoe is very hard on a tractor.

My neighbor had a larger Woods hoe on a JD4440 full sized AG tractor. Sheared the top link pin twice that I know of. Destroyed the transmission park pin.

I feel your pain. I can't believe dealers are still selling these three point mounted backhoes. like was said before I know of a few threads on the forum where the same thing has happened. if you are doing any real digging you really should get a subframe mounted hoe. maybe KTAC will cover it if you financed.

that is going to be an expensive fix.

Well ****, that sucks. I was really hoping just to see a clean break of the mount area itself off of the tractor. Not the whole dang transmission case ripped open.

How are you planning to repair it at this point? Complete disassembly with a new/reman/used trans case? I wouldn't expect welding to work too well in a case like this.

Oh CRAP!!! That looks awful ,I am sorry that happened. I have heard stories but that is the first picture. :thumbdown:

Without doing a parts search on Messick's, it appears the broken piece is the 3pt assembly housing. So it would require removal, complete disassembly and reassembly of all the 3pt lift parts into the replacement housing. Have no idea what the cast piece would cost. Will be several shop hours of labor to swap out all the components attached to it. Bummer.

I can't access the parts diagram that lists the part you broke. Guessing that's a dealer only situation?

Here's a parts diagram that includes the part. It's the cast base that the parts listed in this diagram assemble into. Gives you an idea of the complexity of this repair.

Here it is. In this diagram it's shown better and offers the part # TC620-99013, cost for that casting is $1257.56.

Oh wow..... Forget everything I posted. You also need the rear axle housing along with the top case........ Double Bummer......

This is going to turn into a $5,000 repair minimum. Will require many shop hours. I'll see if I can find the cost of the axle housing.

This parts diagram shows the trans/rear axle case. Item # 150. Part #TC620-50420, cost $919.51.

This requires disassembly of the entire rear axle assembly. Adding many more hours of shop time. Bummer.
