I'm toying with the idea of getting rid of my 2022 Case IH 75C with cab/loader in favor of a simple open station tractor that is cheaper and with less electronics. I've got a CTL and excavator so the 75C only really pulls my mower at this point.
So my brain has me thinking, what would you guys...
Ah the joys. Win some , loose some. Job still made money at the end of the day.
Got a job for a 4.2 acre field. First time cutting it. Took it easy. Cut the whole field but left a high area by a bean field. It had combine ruts and a few v ditches.
Went to take a final pass and cut lower by...
I've done a bunch of research, and there's just so many variables I could use some advice please.
I've got about 6 acres of pasture to mow, it's flat. Currently using a zero turn but a rotary or finish mower on a tractor would definitely help with the larger open areas.
edit: It'd help because...
Update shut off in the middle of mowing won't start back 3.5 hrs on it
Just bought a brand new 422 trying to mow a hill about 16 degrees it will go up it fine but with the deck down the front tires spin out I have it on float any ideas that will up I thought about chains anyone else have this...
Hey folks, it's been a long time since I posted anything here.
4 years ago, we moved to the coast and sold our house on 37 acres about 100 miles inland. We are now considering moving back and looking at acreage. Most of the places we're looking at seem to be setup for horses, so lots of open...
Spent $400 getting a foxtail out of our new pup's ear Friday. So now I am in a war on foxtails.
The foxtails in my pasture is a mixture-- a few areas with many foxtails, and other areas with much fewer but also widely dispersed. Having to deal with them widely dispersed is a challenge no matter...
I posted this in an older thread, but am adding here also, with some added color
On my family farm, we have 200 acres, and about $400K on mowers/mowing machines. Everything from a 1025R and several Kubota BXs and ZDs up to a Deere 6430 Premium with a 10 footer, Deere 3720, Deere 5325 with a 6...
Hi all, I have a Kubota b2620 that I use to mow about five acres with the mmm but I have a septic field I do with a push mower and ditches and road frontage that I basically don't mow. I would like to buy a used machine that I can do these things with but being a secondary machine I really want...
I'm a little late with the spring mowing of our field this year, and it's offering my John Deere 870 all it wants in third gear (2½ mph):
The flail is doing a good job on it. But I'm going to have to get a couple more cans of diesel, as it's going though it faster than usual.
I hope this is the right section for this question.
I have usually done my lawn with a self propelled walk behind mower. The last couple of years I hired someone who used a riding mower.
This year I'd like to do my lawn myself again, but my knees are not up to doing it all with a walk behind...
Hi there, just to warn and to inspire others; I had added twinwheels to the rear about 8 years ago to not get stuck in the mudd and prevent rolling over(rops). Now I live at another place in Southern France with hard clay grounds and short steep hills and pits. So last week one of my frontwheels...
Might not be the right sub-forum for this, but hoping this works as a general "catch all"...
Just finished seeding and strawing the lawn for our house build (hope to close/move in in 3 weeks or so). Doing it all by hand, I'm well aware of how much lawn I'm going to have to mow in the future...
Guys, last fall was my first time with the stander mower, never had a zero-turn before, and quickly learned that zero-turn doesn't mean I SHOULD zero turn coz it tears up the turf. What I mean is you know mow one direction, turn around for the next pass opposite direction. So off to youtube I...
