As for snow removal, I have an ATV w/ a plow that makes quick work of the snow.

An ATV would not work in this neck of the woods.

Last year we had > 120" of snow, and not much melting. It's hard to get the full appreciation from this picture, but here's the little lady and me after we finished snowblowing (with the old walk behind beast that is now with a different owner) and shoveling.

For reference, I'm 6' tall, not including the cool hat. The windows you see on the house behind the snow banks are the 2nd floor.

This year, instead of that tired old walk behind blower, I'll be on the GC2310 with a 54" dual stage bad boy. :D

We have our trusty old MF 35 with a blade, snow blower for it expired a few years ago, and this winter we have a 1523 and a 60" Buhler for snow removal, and the 35 to assist.

I had thought of an ATV, but would not work, and with the cost of an ATV almost the same as our 1523, the tractor was a no brainer for us, along with the new blower, and some other toys, um I mean attachments.

Well I went to the MF dealer Friday evening and applied for the 0%/72 month financing so, now I just have to wait to see if I'm approved for the financing. Unfortunately I have to wait until Tuesday b/c banks are closed in the US today b/c of Columbus Day.

I never had problems getting good financing previously for vehicles, mortgages, loans, etc., but I'm just wondering how that will change with this whole banking fiasco that's going on in the US right now.

The waiting is the hardest part......isn't that a Tom Petty song or at least lyrics from one of his songs?

We typiclly don't get much more than a few inches of snow at a time and maybe a foot on rare occasions. Plus the ATV is a lot more fun trail riding....at least with it I can keep up to my friends on their MX bikes. I think the 2410 might have a little more trouble keeping up......

You were right, "Waiting is the hardest part...."

I bought mine on a Monday and it was delivered Thursday. I was pretty cool until after work Wednesday. Of course, I took Thursday off so I could play with the tractor, er I mean work. Nah - it was playing; work is never that much fun.

Of course, you know that posting pictures are a must.

:D

Congrats,
Jay

I'll make sure I take some pics.

One question I have about the MF FEL bucket, what is the flat piece of metal welded in a 90 degree angle on the top/right of the bucket? Just curious what it is there for (is it for moving the bucket around when not attached to the loader, or maybe how the buckets are moved during shipping?)

Top right as you look at it from the seat? On mine that's a level indicator and there is a sticker with a yellow line on it that is somehow supposed to help you tell with the bucket is level.

I have to confess that I don't understand how it works and as a result find it pretty useless - but at the same time admit that it is probably an operator issue (me).
