If the piston slipper and swash plate surfaces are not perfect you will not have a successful repair.

I've searched the WSM and haven't been able to find anything called a "piston slipper". Are you talking about what they call the cylinder block that the pistons go in?

Terminologies vary, mine does not align with Kubota. The surface of the piston that contacts the swash plate.

These have a thrust bearing that is against the swash plate that the piston contacts.
