This might be one of those legitimate low ball offer opportunities.

poor guy is about to lose his farm, the company quit his contract, hate to beat him on tractor, but not knowing how much money for repairs I don't want to beat myself either
could it be the dry disk ahead of the wet pack
or am I not understanding this system
I am mech inclined(spelling and grammer challenged though):laughing:I think I can do repairs

No not if I'm understanding you correctly. Dry clutch disk is a damper disk to absorb shock. Pushing down on clutch pedal on a hydro shuttle controls a hyd valve but damper disk is always engaged

This description is true of the Hydraulic shuttle only - the damper disk (always turning) drives the hydraulic clutch packs.

The synchro-shuttle system uses a conventional dry clutch driving a synchronized coupling mechanism. It has small cone clutches which are strong enough to spin up gears and shafts to matching speeds (shifts without grinding) - but not strong enough to handle engine torque. Operators might notice they can sometimes shift without using the clutch pedal so they do it more and more, eventually wearing out the synchro assembly.

Pretty important to know for sure which model it is - then diagnose symptoms.

There are a couple possible good signs - the loader working ok means the 3 point hitch not raising might be minor. No clutch pedal free play could mean it just needs adjustment. Could even explain loss of forward motion.

You're correct BUT I was answering hazer36's direct question.

Well yes, but the question assumed both a dry clutch and wet packs. The M5700 models have one or the other, but not both. Need to know which model it is to estimate the repair. (as you asked above)

I totally agree That was the 1st question I asked hazer36 on the 21st but we still don't know the answer.
