Don't know where you see the video, but wish wolc123 had a picture or drawing on this. Sounds easy to make like alot of things, but some of us, or me never thought of an easy, and cheap way to do it. Alot of times it's easier for me to buy something that i'de like to make if only if I knew how.

from what I've seen from past posts I have a feeling you have an idea of how to make one of these cheap and easy from parts left laying around. Someone give me some info on steel size etc,.

I have made them out of bladder type water tank. You could cut the shape out of 1/4 in steel, and put it over two 4 x 4, and drive over it, and it will bend a little. After you have started the bend, put a chain around the bent steel and tighten the chain to bend it to the shape you want to weld to the back plate, as in these pictures.

You can go to a steel mill with your drawing, and they can cut and bend it to the shape your want, and then weld to the back plate.

I have another long row of 10 ft blue spruce that I planted a little too close years ago (about 10 ft apart). They are almost growing into each other and I was thinking of cutting every other one. Next fall they will probably be 12 ft or better but after seeing how well my home-made scoop / 400x loader worked on the smaller trees this fall, I think it will be up to the task, and I will transplant instead. Those smaller ones that I transplanted earlier (start of this post), are doing real good and are holding up well without even needing to be staked thanks to the big dirt ball that curled up with each "scoop". I will probably need to add more ballast to the rear of the tractor with the bigger trees. No more time for playing with this tool this fall as it is hunting season now. Sorry again for the lack of pictures, but I gave all the dimensions of the scoop in earlier posts

You better spend your time trying to keep that one tree alive before you move anymore.I can tell you from a lot of experience that with that size of root ball and with the tearing of roots with that type of apparatus ,a spruce tree over 2 feet in height will probably not survive.Sorry to rain on your parade but give that tree 6 months and see how it is doing.
