I found used Skid Steer Forks at the last RB Auction when I went to look at the equipment, the Saturday before the auction. I never found these forks in the online inventory. I had to return on Sunday to register for on site bidding and asked.

I was told these forks were sold in the November auction and never picked up. I did some online research and found out they soldwith a New Holland skid steer loader and a bucket. The winning bidder left the forks.

RB Auction gave me a name and phone number of the owner. I offered the owner $100. He told me I could have them after we couldn't get together on a pay off time. I told him I needed his bid number to pick them up.

He told me to call his partner. I left a message. Then my phone rang with the owner telling me his partner went to RB Auction and picked them up and that I could pay his partner.

So Friday I drove over to Humble, paid $100 and brought them home. But first I had my local welding shop cut the rack off and straighten a bent QA latch bracket.

I'll cut a new headache rack from 2 inch tubing and use expanded metal instead of the bar bracing used in the old rack.
Happy day!
hugs, Brandi

Wow Brandi...what a deal...don't you just love it when you find something like that...? It is not just luck ya know..you have to have your eyes wide open...nice going...kido..

Thanks Brin,
You have to search the whole auction site. Those RB employees put stuff in the darndest places. Ag impliments on the back row in between 30 ton trailers. Stuff like that. Only thing I don't like about RB Auctions is you have to pay the going city tax.

I had 2 inch square tubing left over from my bale spear project, so I made a headache rack frame out of that. I am not sure if I want to use 1/4 straps as bars like the old rack, or go with 2 inch expanded metal. What do Y'all think?

I had raised the loader up and and sited down to the forks from the seat. Seems the rack area doesn't need that much view. I look through the opening between the forks to see the tips.

I bet the forks work as well as the set I just paid 650 for. Bobcat wanted 950 for their new set. Never thougt I would have paid over 350. Good shopping. Got to the point where I needed a good set so I just went ahead and purchased new.

2458n,
Best price I found new is right at $650 online. I think delivery was free to a commerical address. Or $75 to a house.

The forks now are a little bit tail heavy and want to tip over backwards when unhitching, thus the iron ore rock sitting on one fork. I need to weld some little legs on the back end to make it stand all the time without weight on a fork.

I have already used them instead of hooking up the grapple in moving large limbs. No hydraulic connections....thus way faster.
hugs, Brandi
