The made in India tag was mounted on the transaxle, if memory serves me it was on the right hand side.

Yes, confirmed.... JD has gone the cheap route on this... A good friend works at a dealership noticed a lot of parts that they would supply on units that they sell in Lowes or Home Depot are used. For one he mentioned the ignition modules. JD is heading down hill if they continue to do this.. QC should do a better job. sad to hear. I just bought a new 2520 and was not happy that on feature i thought i was getting on the 62D was not there (stow n go brackets). Not happy!!! Can't even get them to locate the part so I can put it on myself. Corporate tells me to call dealer, dealer says they can't do anything. Wow isn't that great. How about just tell me who manufactured it. Duh.. Sorry didn't meant to rant but quality is really going down hill.

On the new models JD claims they were listening to us. I don't recall anyone wishing for lower quality, what I remember was complaints about oil filters, broken pto's, broken fans, no seat suspension, etc...
Next time I'm at Lowe's I should look for the cheap garbage can lid hoods. Hey, that's where I saw those before!
