not possible when there is no gun registration buddy. I don't know the laws for every state but most states do not have a registration. Handgun sales can require a ffle transfer but for my state and your state, long rifles have no trail. you can buy and sell to anyone you wish with no paper trail or background check. Plus, this isn't the most deadly rifle ever made. All take skill and practice
"Only a handfull can hit at 1000 yards" BS.. a rather large handful if you ask me. 1500 to 2000 yards, Yeah I will buy into the "handful" thing.. but not at 1000..

James, I suppose it depends on the actual target size. My ex BIL is into the "Rendezvous" thing, black powder shoots, frontier re-enactments. 50 cal Sharps shooting steel buffalo targets at 1000 yards kinda thing.
Replace that buffalo target with a beer can...that's quite a shot!
