I unscrewed this to give you full view of whats under it. I hope you can make heads or tails of it. I also took pictures of the remotes it goes to.

It is called the Steering Relief Valve in the manual.Does the power steering work? When you pull a lever for the rear remote, does the engine pull down any? You really need to change the hydraulic oil,and the filter under the foot rest (if it has one) and you should clean the hydraulic screen at the same time.

Doesn't look like a relief valve .

Looks to be a port, maybe for a gage.

Is there a lever on either valve? I don't see one.

I see OUT port and PBY.

Normally, you don't see a PB/BYD port plugged, as it is supposed to feed the next valve.

Is there supposed to be a jumper from the BYD QD to the OUT QD.

The other port probably goes back to the 3pt.

The OUT port probably goes to the side of the tractor sump.

This looks like a set up for a BH or a log splitter.

You said your 3pt does not go up. It probably is not getting any fluid.

Can you trace the line from the QD at the back to see if it goes to the 3pt input?

It goes up now, just too slowly. It started working after I messed with that brown valve/put fluid in. Like I said, not sure which really helped. But when i turned that brown thing it made a growning sound and started to work.

Also, sorry. What's QD?

QD's are those fittings on the back of your tractor that allow a matching fitting to connect and disconnect.

Most attachments have QD's to just plug in to the hyd system.

Your 5th, 6th, and 7th picture above are QD's

How do I flush out the hydraulic system exactly? is it a big pain to do? Do I have to prime everything afterwards?

/ 1050 John Deere. Question about 3 point hitch and hydraulics #28
Soundguy has a flushing mixture , maybe he will see this and tell you the mixture.

Your pump should self prime.

Any air will purge itself as you use the cyl.

You can usually drain the hyd tank, pull the screen, and run some diesel through it to get the worst of it out. There may also be a screw on filter in the line between the sump and pump. I believe the lines are on the right side and run under the platform.

QD is short for Quick Disconnect
