I still use NAZ (Solar Electric), they have great customer support when needed and also will do a free initial consultation (put all the pieces togther that you need for a complete install) that works best for your site and intended use.

They curently are having a 7% off sale. edit: through the 2nd of December

Forget the adjustable mounts and just add a panel or two. You will come out $ ahead.
Yep,

He could buy 14KW of panels for what just the adjustable ground mount cost delivered.

I'm looking at 750w bifacial panels. I am able to get them at a good price directly from China. For the Inverter, I am looking to get the EG4 18KPV

What is the wind rating on those panels? Will that be enough for where you are? The panels aren't exactly small.

All the best,

Peter

Some Bifacial panels have thinner glass, it appears that it is mainly because they are placing glass on both sides of the panel and are trying to reduce the overall weight of the panels (my opinion).
The glass on the back side of the panels is thinner than on the front side and can crack with a minor hit from a tool. Don't ask me how I know this!
If you get hail where you live, I would recommend looking into the hail testing for the panels as they might have thinner glass. There is a UL listing for this, that has a standard test procedure that manufacturers test to.

A 750 watt panel must be almost the size of a sheet of plywood!

EG4 18 is supposedly a good inverter, never seen one though. I only install low frequency inverters for off grid customers.

That is the inverter I bought plus two Power Pro batteries (28.6 KWH total) and 32 Bifacial 450 (540) watt panels. If it gives me trouble I will be going to a Schneider or Midnight/ Trace LF inverter.

First full day in the sun but now I need to get the AC wiring Inverter and batteries wired/mounted

Averaging 375 watts so 12000 watts for a few hours today.

Can't wait to get the rest up and running.

ps. Really Happy with the Sinclair Designs season adjustable ground mount, even though it was pricy with the shipping from Michigan.

Boviets are heavy for a 450 watt panel 68 lb each and have tempered glass. They were one of only two Panels PVEL tested with Ice balls that did not break due to impacts.

“Across the past year of hail testing and dozens of modules tested, Boviet Solar’s double glass modules were one out of only a couple module models where neither sample tested experienced breakage in our 50-mm-diameter hail test.

We typically see a greater than 85 percent glass breakage rate for double glass modules in this test. Boviet Solar’s glass backsheet modules also showed impressive results,” said Tristan Erion-Lorico of PVEL".

Funny thing is there is a bit of panel warping on these panels, Guy over on DIY solar said his Pigmy Goats have jumped up on his same model panels and walked around and not damaged them. We will see.

Looks nice! Thanks for sharing the details.

What is the angle of your array?

All the best, Peter

I only used an old harbor freight angle level and it is sticking, I ordered a better electronic one but tried to set the angle to 45* in the pictures. December that would be correct for our latitude.

Sinclair Skyrack 2.0 is fully adjustable between 15* and 55* I believe. Pic of minimum angle while tightening bolts last night.

The economics of solar varies tremendously from state to state. The big things to look out for are your state's policies on net metering, whether it's allowed and what rate they pay you for power returned to the grid. In some states there are additional incentives like Solar Renewable Energy Credits (SREC's) and even direct subsidies.

There's also a federal tax credit.
