12' Disc NEED HELP

That axle looks a little strange being round and that small for that size disc. I had to weld an axle on a 6 row pull disc and it was 1.5" solid square.

But I have to ask, is the cable on the tire in the first pic there to keep someone from steeling it?

The John Deere AW has 1 spring above and 1 spring below the tongue with the springs running somewhat parallel to the tongue. The frame doesn't look like an AW either. I've seen pictures of a BW and it doesn't look like a BW either.

GOT IT!!!

Wrong color of green!

I posted a couple of the pictures on another site. Got a response from an Oliver fan. It's an Oliver model 242 (or 252?) disc.

Parts should be available through AGCO dealers

Well, there you have it! FWJ pulls through yet again!
Keep this thread going. I would like to see the progress.

So far, I havent needed any new parts except for the discs themselves. The bearings were in good shape, and the bolts were nearly all replaced when it was rehabed before I bought it.

The new discs were 18" notched front only, and they made all the difference in the world. Before the new discs I was lucky to turn a single inch of dirt over, but with the new ones, it was managing to turn 4-5 inches, and 2 passes made sand out of clumps.

It seems to be working great now. I appreciate all the help. Ill have to post some photos of it for you guys, to show the difference. Ill get you a shot of the field too. Disced and planted 20 acres of rice this past weekend.

Looks great.

Three photos....one of a 10 acre field I disced 3 weeks ago before the new blades....took 10-12 passes to get it turned over. You can see the fresh rice starting to come up. My neighbors cow got through the fence though, so I was shooing them off. The overgrown section in the middle is an in ground blind, and the area where there is nothing growing is an open area for birds to land.

Second photo is the narrow part of the next rice field. Its 20 acres, but its only about 2 acres here. It necks down before it opens up again (following the terrain) The canal we pump water from is on the other end of the field. This is where this duck blind is, as you can see from the photo.
