Greetings all,

My wife was mowing with the 1300D and she had the PTO speed selector on 3. Now I know this is way too fast but we had to find out the hard way. The PTO shaft came completely out of the transmission housing. It damaged the overrun clutch but everything else looks good. I contacted Hoyetractor and got a new overrunclutch and they had me get 2 snaprings for the shaft also. They were suppossed to put a copy of the shaft diagram in the order also but it didn't make it in there.
Does anyone have a digram showing the order the shaft parts go in???Also what is the easiest way to reinstall it? Do I need to remove the top plate of the transmission housing to access it. I already have the back PTO housing off but there is not much of a hole for a reinstall. The bearings and gears all look ok, but no sign of the original snaprings that supposedly held the PTO shaft in place.

Thanks, Steve

Swilson,

You need to remove the hydraulic lift arm assembly (top of hydraulic case) to access the shaft where the snap rings are located. This will also allow a small magnet to reach the old snap rings, or any metal debris, in the bottom of the hydraulic case.

Whole process should take just a few hours.

Good luck, Mark

P.S. I would call Aaron @ Hoye and ask him to fax or e-mail the diagram.

Thanks Aaron....that is definetly great customer service!

Now to fugre out where the back plate PTO cover is in relation to the parts and I will be set. Guess I will crack that top plate open this weekend. While I'm in there should I look at/do anything for general maintenance??? Might as well kill two birds if I need to.

Holy cow...I got it put back together. I did manage to break off 1 bolt on the back plate but oh well...doesn't seem to be leaking.

Thanks to all for the advice.

Well done, Steve! It's so much more fun to use them when they work, isn't it?

Sorry about that. Our internet antenna (wireless... we are too far away from civilization to get anything else /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif ) got struck by lightning last week. We are using a borrowed connection that is not working with our email software. We can read the email but cant send them reliably. We hope to have our internet back this weekend.
