15 ft finish mower. Anyone own one of these?

Well, his cut is beautiful.

That cutter in the pic is not a FM. FMs have lawn mower blades like the Befco. That cutter is a bush hog with sling out blades and stump jumpers.
That's kind of what I was getting at, but there were a couple of other fellows who seemed to think otherwise.

If it looks like a duck.... My best friend has a business cutting highway grass in several counties in SC. He cuts about 30 miles of I-95. He uses Bush Hog brand batwing bush hog cutters because of the rougher terrain and who knows what that might be in the grass. Of course they cut grass and cut it pretty well as long as the blades are sharp. My 10' BH cutter is used to cut some pretty rough areas around my fields every other year or so. The blades don't stay sharp and I don't sharpen them because I don't cut grass with it. If I tried to use that instead of my Frontier 2120 my wife would not be very happy.

I guess I have never seen a turf batwing with stump jumpers , I would have thought the mower he bought would be a rough cut batwing, no belts, stump jumpers, but you learn something new on here everyday, the mower he bought would be considered a rough cut in my opinion.
I stand corrected, I missed the post saying that he had gone to a Landpride batwing and thought he had gotten the 15' Befco.

Yea, the Befco is definitely a FM. My Frontier 20 footer is a Befco. They are great machines.

I agree, I came so close to buying that 15 ft Befco, but the dealer thought I would be better off with the Land Pride rotary. Only mowed once about 20 acres, but the cut is amazing.

The thing about the bush hog is it is more versatile. I use both of mine quite a bit. The FM is good for only one thing.

I hear you I have both BH, FM and a 3rd that I use the most a flail . . .

I really want a boom flail but I just can't justify it right now. And I've heard some not so good things about the boom mowers that get used a lot. I have a Hardee hyraslide that will have to do for now. I wonder if I could fit my Frontier 20' FM with 3 - 7' flail mowers.
