I get 50 hour in red neck Mississippi. for the first time cutting a new place you have to charge by the hour. next time you can set the price with experiance for the feild you just cut. If you are accually making a business out of brush cutting then you better make enough to profit and make repairs to you tractor and cutter.

Well, making money by good honest work is good, but you gotta take your equipement into consideration,my tools[very cheap compared to yours] didn't cost me a dime, guy I was working for paid for them, and lunch and transportation,,plus, just think of all that muscle building I was doing.

Some advice- be cautious of what may be lying in the field. Those fun things found can get expensive and/or time consuming. Good luck.

No kidding i hit a chunk of concrete today with my RC. I think it is fine but really made some bad noise.

You have only bushhogged for a total of 8 hours and now your going to do it for money on someone elses property on a tractor you really dont have much experience on! Seems like you may be jumping the gun a little to me.

Hes a farm raised young man they are known to have an abundance of common sense. Not like a lot of us who have to learn the hard way.:D The can reason the correct there way through unfamiliar territory. I have a lot of confidence that he will do fine. After all he is on TBN gleaning info on the latest equipment and asking advice from the ones that have been there.

Did I miss where it says the OP is farm raised? He better have more than 8 hours experience if he is.

I agree with two-bit-score. Set the price, walk the field and get started. There are a lot of people who are making a big deal out of the fact that you're 15. I've meet 15 years old who shouldn't be left alone and I've meet 15 year olds who run their own business and the same can be said for some 30 year olds I've met. It seems like his "common sense" jean hasn't been removed, so go for it. What I learned this morning is that the property has been cut about once a year by someone. If you can find the person who cut it last you can get some good info about the lay of the land.

Good luck.. Keep us posted and if you have time take some photos along the way.

good for the kid trying.....
some guys are asking for $30 an hour, i do not see how it pays to take the tractor, fuel for tractor and truck, and all the other little things that add up. but i think they are just trying to make some play money. every year 2-3 new guys pop up but their ads go away after a few months.
and to the OP...
be safe, be safe, and be careful. i would rather leave a little patch uncut than "i think i can make it through mud hole, under a tree limb, maybe there is nothing there."
