bobcat, case hoe, ditcher,
Been looking for an import tractor with a 3cyl engine so I was intested in an Iseki. I have owned 2 different Yanmar 1500D's in the past. Received information from a dealer that he has a 1500D with a 3 cyl engine for sale. I had never heard of this. I don't claim to be an expert on these machines but I was not aware that the 1500D was ever made with a 3cyl engine as both of mine were 2 cyl and I have seen several others with 2 cyl engines. Actually, I did not even think Yanmar made a 3cyl tractor but have since learned from internet research that the models that end in 01 and 02 as well as most of the powershift models and F series have 3cyl engines. Anyone out there have any information about Yanmar making a 3cyl engine specifically in the 1500D. I don't know alot about Yanmar, bought them in the past because they were available when I needed to get something done and sold them when the work was finished. Did some repairs (front axle broke on one) and parts were easy to find. Overall they were hard workers. I am asking this to see if this dealer is being honest about his machines as I have not seen it yet to determine if is true.

You're right. 1510. 1501 1502 would be 3 cylinders. Maybe it was a misprint. It's easy enough to verify.

I thought it must be a misprint too, so I asked and the dealer said they can get 3cyl 1500D's. The picture of the tractor in question is definately a 1500D, no doubt about it, but I have not seen a picture of the engine to varify what the dealer is saying. Pereplexing isn't it. The dealer said it is OEM so I am not sure about this dealers credibility, thus the question here.

I'd definitely question his credibility.

"he might be credible, just not knowledgable"
TexasTractors

Texas, that makes a lot of sense to me. And nicely said, too.

Thanks to all who replied, so is it for sure that there are not OEM 3 cyl 1500D Yanmars out there, here is the a direct quote from the dealers email to me,

"Yanmar YM1500Ds are normally 2 cylinder but 3 cylinders are available to us."

This dealer claims to sell lots of tractors and claims to know lots about them on their web page, they even agressively rip several other dealers, which is kinda a turn off to me, but if there were a 1500D with a 3 cyl engine it sounded interesting. I honestly was starting to believe it, but now they are not answering my emails or the phone.

You mentioned a picture of this tractor...........Can you post it here and see whats others that may own a 1500D think??

/ 1500D Question #9
Maybe they were just going to hand you a 3d cylinder, that would make 2+1=3

/ 1500D Question #10
Just to add to the concensus, no there are no YM1500D 3 cylinders. You said this guy had a web page. What is it?

I tried to post the pic last night but my computer skills are limited to typing and was not able to capture the pic and attach it here. I think I could figure out how to attach it if I knew how to copy it from the net.

Well, after reading many fights here and on the other boards, in the archives, and also reading about dealer reliability in some recent posts, I am not sure it is the best idea to put the web site up here. After looking at most of the dealers web pages across the U.S. I am pretty sure that some here are doing business with this dealer, so I don't want start a fight. I just wanted to see if the this dealer knew what he was talking about and also if it was possible for the 1500D to have a 3 cyl.

If anyone wants more information about this dealer, they can email me and we can discuss it.

Ok here is the try. If the pic comes up ok, then it is the picture of THE tractor advertised as a 3cyl!

I may be mistaken since it's not like my 1700, but I think I see 2 injector lines myself.

I see the same thing. It looks like the picture was taken in Japan.

I deffinately see 2 injector lines myself as well. It can only be a 2 cyl. engine.

/ 1500D Question #19
This is a long shot, but do you think they might have said 1510D with respect to the 3 cyl and 1500D for 2 cyl. Could sound close over the phone and that would explain the apparent confusion.

/ 1500D Question #20
That is what I thought. Perhaps the guy was talking about the availability of both machines but only has a picture of the 1500D on his website.
