Drove it this morning. Battery was almost dead so it took a sec to fire
Seemed to run good, shifted into gears fine, FEL worked, PTO worked, looks in overall good shape
Engine looked clean and dry, no leaks I could see

Here are some pics any thought on price
Little farther away also JD 650 with loader and tiller

From what I can tell everything looks to be there and Dry or no apparent leaks. The Tines on the Tiller look to be worn out. The Ends should be bent like of the Letter L but you should be able to replace them at Fredrick Equipment. Nice Little Unit!!!!

That's the Yanmar-unique integral tiller, not the more common (in the US) universal 3-point removable tiller.

That tiller is intended to stay on the tractor throughout its lifetime; it's a tractor/tiller combo dedicated to rice paddy cultivation.

It can be removed, but its not as easy to swap implements as you switch between tasks. After removing it and putting on the 3-point arms, the tractor conforms to common 3-point specs.

For me - the tiller adds value if I had an application where I would till for at least a couple of days, maybe rental or contracting-out. For a general purpose tractor that swaps implements between tasks, it would be a PIA and I would plan to replace it with a 3-point tiller - and price the tractor lower to discount that additional cost.

Couldn't that tiller be converted to a 3 point?

At the moment most of the work I have planned for a small tractor is tilling, leveling and front loader work
Mainly move dirt around till in level out put in plants
The tiller does add some nice back weight to offset the loader up front
Any price in mind for what you see? looks like it is in good shape and he has taken care of it to me

Not easy. I think it would cost several hundred dollars of fabricating and welding, and for example a couple hundred $ for a new driveshaft, so overall I think adapting would cost more than just buying a 3-point tiller.

Price? I haven't seen comparables around here so that tractor and its price are unique. it took me 10 years to find my much cheaper one at a price that was all I wanted to pay. Maybe offer considerably less and see what happens?

Looks to be new rear tires, (high hours?) Fronts have been reversed, (side to side), in misconception of better/wider stance. Does not work, and very hard on front spindles. I would return to normal. Tell him you were hoping to find something more in the $5,000 range and get reaction. DO NOT pay asking price.

Hour meter says 500
So front tires should be switched for a narrower stance up front? It does feel narrow, like it could tip easy with the FEL loaded
This a common issue? Maybe if I got it..install ROP

Looks nice....they are tippy, but adding a rops is worth it to me...about 800 clams though. You can load the tires or install wider turf tires to lower it and make it more stable. I have a 35 degree hill and I have had to do all of the above to limit the pucker factor.

Or it could just mean the olds were dry rotted or someone ran over a stob or iron pipe or something with one and just replaced both due to a dry rotted other side? many reasons. Kenmac just replaced all his tires not cause they were worn but because of dry rot.

/ 1510D Advice #32
The small difference in the front tires being swapped wont make much difference in the tippyness of it but it will create excess wear on bearing as it puts the load geometry off from what it was designed for.

Could be, that's why the question.

When the tractor tilts to the side, with the swiveling front end, the tractor will be rolling over while the front wheels are still on the ground.

Thiunk I might make an offer on this little thing this weekend. Not a lot of availability in these parts for a small tractor in my price range.

Thanks for all the wonderful information. Holidays and family got in the way
I still am looking for a small tractor... might offer on this one if still available

A YM 155D just came up as well as a Kubota b8200 4wd
I think my sticking point is I would prefer a tiller I can move between tractors if I want to upgrade, not the 2 pt Yanmar.... unless price is perfect
Once again thank you for all of the info and Happy New Year

Sorry to hear this unit didn't work out. Don't worry. There are lots of these out there and with some patience you'll find a good unit that you're willing to buy. Who knows, in a few weeks this seller might come down. Hang in there.
