I just got my 1250 about a month ago and it smokes bad right after starting whether cold or hot. Doesn't smoke as long after it has been running a while like it does from a cold start up but still smokes. Runs great, either way. Have had several people tell me that those engines were normal like that. I feel a little better about the situation than I did before reading this thread.
