I wish I could get my hands on some leftover Jet-A...Its just highly refined kero..3.25 a gallon around here for regular kerosene.

Have to heat my shop with this stuff, don't have NG in these parts. Gets very painful in a hurry. Don't want the risk of a wood burner and don't want the supporting expense of a pellet stove...
Kinda stuck, don't like playing the commodity markets to buy heating oil.

If he doesn't want to play the commodity market to buy fuel oil why would he want to play the market to buy diesel fuel?

Try TSC for a 5 gallon can of kero .... $45 on sale. Last time I bought some from the distributer it was about $4 a gallon. That has to be one expensive can that TSC has their stuff packaged in.

same hear.... gonna ballpark it (from a big box store) at $10 a gal.

you can drive around to little tinny old school filling stations looking for some out of a pump and then it will range from 4-5$ a gall

How do you figure Jet A is cheaper. I bought 11,616 gallons of the stuff last month. Just got done doing my monthly report for work. Anyway at my home airport I paid just over $3.46 per gallon after my discount. Its based on monthly volume. On the road I paid about $4.67 per gallon. I have paid nearly $8 per gallon in some east coast stops while in the south its been cheaper than what I can get it for at my home airport.

Kero is around $3.25 per gallon here which still beats the price I get Jet A for with my heavy discount.

Diesel is ok to run when out in a open area but will give you a headache quick when in your shop.

Just use propane for heating (though would need a heating system for that or a burner). Its cheaper than most fuels and plentiful.

Kero is good to mix with bio-diesel if its gets too cold as well.
