For future information, the starters are now available on Ebay. I bought an aftermarket starter for my 1983, 1710 for $80.55 with free shipping and it arrived at my door in 2 days. I bought it from dbelectrical although there are several different sellers with the same price. I also found the solenoid on Ebay for $30 and free shipping but only after I had purchased and installed the new starter. The solenoid is much harder to find and most sell it fo $60 plus shipping.
