18' 10K PJ flatbed price?

I don't care for a flat bed trailer for loading wheeled equipment.

I have a 10k 18' bumper pull with a dove tail/5200 lb axle/235/85-16 E tires. Works great with my 50 hp blue tractor with loaded tires/FEL and a 172 Rhino mower. The mowers trailing wheel hangs over 2-3 feet but doesn't hurt anything.

My neighbor has a 22' flatbed GN trailer. He had to barrow my 18 footer with the dove tail so he could load his wifes broke down mini van on the side of the road back to the shop. His ramps had to much angle for the low riding van to load.

Now when I hauled freight for a living I used all flatdecks.

What was the price if you don't mind my asking?
I am along the I-5 corridor so can shop between Portland and Seattle. Portland is a lot closer though. I like to support local too. I called the only trailer place in the town where I live and the guy was going to get me pricing "tomorrow" on what I was looking for. That was over a week ago and I still haven't heard back. As a small business owner, I am more inclined to go with a company that provides decent customer service as that is what has kept me in business for so many years even when there are lower priced options out there for my customers. Price and distance are important but I don't mind paying a bit more or driving a little farther for someone that stands behind what they sell before and after I buy from them.

Do you mind if I ask what you paid for your trailer? I am in the market for one as well as I am going to be buying a kubota this week.

We paid $2545 and that included front jack, spare tire, back corner jacks (real handy when you load a heavy item (keeps front from lifting) and also handy to change a flat). It has dexter axles, easy lube hubs, fenders you can walk on and the battery and break away for the brakes. It has stake pockets if I want to add racks. It has 5' self storing ramps.

They also had tilt and other models.

We got the one at this link (http://www.foxtrailers.com/index.php/7-x-20-fox-trailer-10k.html). It shows $2495 right now on special.

Thanks for posting the Fox link Hawkeye. I live up in Colbert, WA and was thinking about heading out there to look at the Fox 10k trailers. They look really well made and I like to support the local businesses too.

The Fox trailers look very much like these up in Chehalis : Inventory
I wonder if they are made by the same people?
I need to get off the fence and make up my mind soon before the weather gets worse. I have a lot of things I can use a trailer for around the property before Winter. Decisions, decisions.....

Thanks for the reply Hawkeye. I'll have to have a look at Fox trailers then..... especially since I bought my 1st Kubota today.

I bought a L3700SU with FEL, Back Blade and Rock Rake. Ended up buying up in Colville at LaDuke and Fogle. Apparently Adams tractor won't negotiate on price at all.:(

rgold1963, I just bought a 83" x 20' PJ trailer. $2960 out the door (includes TTL). Mine is built to 12K specs that I registered for 10K. I'm hauling a Kubota L3400 w/FEL & RC. Takes up 20' exactly. I really don't like hanging the mower off the back of the trailer.

On the PJ I got all sorts of extras that you might or might not want. I added (included in the price) rear swing up stabilizers, side storage 5' ramps, D-rings, 7K recessed tongue jack, removable pipe rails, all LED lights, brakes on all axles, D rated new trailer tires, PT flooring, cross braces on 16" centers, Bull Dog hitch (2 5/16"), brake-away system, and spare tire, mounted. All PJ's are, of course, powder coated and encased wiring. Numerous colors but I bought black.

Obviously, I think PJ trailers are top quality. They can build the trailer to your needs and at a "right" price.

Sounds like a very nice setup. I think I am jealous.

I wish I could that trailer for that price here! The closest I have seen to that is minus the pipe rails, spare tire, and led lights and is $3250 before TTL which will be another $300 or so here. At this point, it's looking like the best trailer for my needs even at the slightly higher cost than a few others I have looked at.

Thanks everyone for all the helpful information!

The straight tail deckover PJ comes with 6'-6" ramps, whereas, the dovetail comes with either 5' slide in ramps or 5' fold up ramps. That means that you have a couple of more feet of ramp length on the dovetail. This assumes you can fit all your stuff on the flat deck area. Based on my limited experience loading vehicles and tractors on this trailer, I think it would be a lot harder to load without the dovetail.

I just bought a 20 foot (17 flat, 3 dove) PJ 10000 lb, 6 inch channel deckover trailer. The options included fold up ramps and a spare tire mount and spare. Price was right at $4100, so your $3025 price sounds like a smoking deal to me....

Anyway, here are a couple of pics of mine.

Adams worked with me on price a bit (we bought our used Kubota there) and gave me a break on the Land Pride finish mower we bought a few weeks later. The sales manager is an experienced sales rep that really doesn't move much on price.. I emailed LaDuke and did not get a response so did not even call them. I emailed them again on some implements today on lunch break and hope to get a response.

No question I liked the PJ trailer, just way over my budget and I really like the FOX, especially the price and build. It is possible that there is another dealer for the PJ trailers that is not as high priced as the one we looked at..

Enjoy your new tractor!
